Trevor D. Lozeau
KALISPELL –Trevor D. Lozeau, who found incredible strength through his Love and Faith in the Lord was called to be with Him on May 13, 2000.
He was born in Missoula, April 6, 1949 to Howard and Claudia Lozeau. He moved with his family to Kalispell in 1951. Trevor attended schools in Kalispell, graduating with honors from Flathead High School in 1967. He continued his education at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, where he received a BA degree in Mathematics and minor in Theology in 1971.
In 1969, he married Linda Morton in Kalispell. They were blessed with two children. After graduating from Rocky Mountain College he began a career with the Social Security, beginning in Billings and then as a manager in the Denver office. The office in Ft. Collins, Colo. was the high point of his career. He was diagnosed with M.S. in May 1977. He retired with disability from the Missoula office in 1981. In October 1989, he became a resident of Brendan House, where he resided until the disabling effects of M.S. took him away.
While healthy he was an avid golfer and enthusiastically enjoyed many outdoor activities.
He is survived by his parents, Howard and Claudia and his brother Randy of Kalispell, his sister Valerie of Tigard, Ore.; his son Jeff and wife Nicole, his daughter Lori and their mother Linda, all of Kalispell; his grandchildren Alexi and Paige, nephews Chad, Dale and Jason, and many relatives and close friends -
“Family, relatives and friends, grieve not for me because now I am finally free.”
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Salvation Army Church, at 110 Bountiful Drive, near Brendan House, with a reception following.
The family requests donations in Trevor’s name be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, PO Box 1847, Great Falls, Montana, 59403-1847.

Cynthia M. Zaremba
LAUREL – Cynthia M. Zaremba, 38, passed away at her home, Saturday, May 13, 2000. Cindy was born July 11, 1961 at Glasgow.
She was a very talented artist and many of her oil paintings took blue ribbons at county fairs.
Cindy loved animals, especially her cats. She was always helping or sticking up for the underdog, or anyone she felt was being put down or discriminated against.
Survivors include her parents, Jack and Nita Zaremba of Laurel. A sister Janet Pierce of Acton, and a brother Chuck Zaremba of San Diego, Calf., and aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Laurel. Interment will be in the Laurel cemetery.
Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel was in charge of cremation and memorial services. Memorials are suggested to any animal welfare organization in Cynthia’s memory.

Robert H. Scherger
Robert Henry Scherger, who was born Dec. 30, 1928 in Laurel, passed away Friday, May 12, 2000 after a long courageous battle with multiple myeloma and diabetes.
Robert was the proud son of Antonia G. Marchand and George W. Scherger, a 17 year old immigrant who came to Ellis Island from Russia in 1914.
Robert graduated Cum Laude with Honors from Carroll College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Robert left law school in 1950 to serve in the Army during the Korean War. In 1951 he married Mary J. Studer in Billings.
Dad had many interests including a love for Montana history and photography. His books of compiled histories and photos can be found in libraries throughout Montana. Robert was also an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He especially enjoyed collecting agates throughout Eastern Montana.
An excellent athlete, he took great pride in watching his four sons participate in baseball, basketball, football and other sporting events. All four of his sons played American Legion Baseball in Billings.
Above and beyond all, Robert will always be remembered by his children and grandchildren as a kind, generous, loving, and gentle man who always had a great love for his family. Robert was a man of high intellect, integrity and a great capacity to love.
Robert found grace, mercy, and peace in Christ Jesus Our Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his children, Clare Ann Roberson, May Kay Hill, Robert D. Scherger, Joseph P. Scherger, John J. Scherger, and James Matthew Scherger; eight grandchildren, Ericka M. Hill, Benjamin Hill, Sias, Adria, Aensley, and Lanae Scherger and Drew and Leslie Scherger, a brother George Scherger of Glendive and a sister Clara Jane Heidinger of Wolf Point.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. The Memorial Mass will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, May 17, at the mortuary due to construction at St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral.

Celia Waters Shumway
OREM, Utah – Celia Waters Shumway, 94, of Orem, Utah, formerly of Lovell, Wyo. passed away Saturday, May 13, 2000 in Orem.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Lovell Mortuary.

Helen P. Fox
HARDIN – Helen P. Fox, 65, passed away, Saturday, May 13, 2000 in the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1934 in Sidney, a daughter of Martin and Margaret Herman Keller. She grew up in the St. Xavier area and received her education at the St. Xavier Mission and Hardin schools.
Helen married William Fox on Dec. 29, 1951 in Billings and the couple made their home on the family farm near St. Xavier. They moved to Hardin in 1988.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, duck, geese and turkeys and caring for her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Steve, Mike, Pete, John, Bobby and Joe Keller; and three sisters, Katie Keller, Margaret Nedens and Mary Huck.
Survivors include her husband, William of Hardin; three daughters, Kathy (Chuck) Frost of Hardin, Gloria (John) Cole of St. Xavier and Rhonda (Russ) Wildin of Billings; one son, William J. Fox of Billings; her sister, Regina McBeth of Florida, who lovingly cared for Helen this past month; her brother, Benny (Eileen) Keller of Hardin, 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 in the Bullis Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Fairview cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hardin, MT.

Irene A. Smeltzer
LEWISTOWN – Irene A. Smeltzer, 87, passed away Sunday morning at the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center of natural causes.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at the Cloyd Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Frazer
HARDIN – Robert Bunell Frazer, 61, died Friday evening May 12, 2000 in the Billings Deaconess Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1939 in Hardin, a son of William and Lucy Howell Frazer. He grew up in the Sarpy area on the Frazer ranch, until moving to Hardin to attend school. He was the youngest of four children. He attended Montana State University, before entering the U.S. Army and later received his Honorable Discharge.
Bob married Paulette F. Beringer on Dec. 26, 1965 in Billings. They resided in Billings, until moving to Hardin in 1968.
He served as Vice President of Little Horn State Bank and later as Branch Manager, of the First Federal Bank in Hardin, before retiring due to heart complications.
Bob spent time hunting, fishing, camping, wood carving and being a “house husband.” He was an active skier, serving as president of the Very Cold Duck Ski Club, was an avid fly tier and assisted with the Eagle Mount Ski program for one year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jack. Survivors include his wife, Paulette of Hardin; a son, Paul of Billings; a daughter, Tammie Frazer of Minn.; one brother, William (Lorraine) Frazer of Sheridan, Wyo. and one sister, Selma (Robert) Thompson of Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow the services. Private interment of the ashes will follow at a later date. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Big Horn County Historical Museum.

William ‘Bill’ Yeager
RAPID CIY, S.D.– Funeral services for William ‘Bill’ Yeager, 76, Rapid City, S.D., formerly of Plentywood, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, at the Plentywood Lutheran Church, with Pastor David C. Curtwright officiating. Interment, with Military Honors will be in the Antelope Creek cemetery. Bill passed away Wednesday, May 10, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, S.D. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood has charge of local arrangements.

Mary Ann Murray
HAVRE – Mary Ann Murray, 41, passed away Friday, May 12, at the Northern Montana Hospital. The cause of death is being investigated by the Hill County Coroner.
Wake/Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at St. Paul’s Mission in Hays. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at St. Paul’s Mission with burial in the St. Paul’s Mission cemetery. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.

Irene Glasgow
LAUREL – On Saturday, May 13, 2000 Irene lost her long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and close friends.
Irene was born in Laurel, on March 20, 1923, the youngest daughter of Bill and Bertha Hilderbrand. While the family lived in Ballantine, Irene attended Anita School on the Ballantine Highline. After the family moved to Billings, she attended Garfield School and graduated from Billings High School in 1941.
She met Robert Glasgow in high school in 1939 and they were married on July 5, 1941. Irene was a member of Moss Agate Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and Bath Zabbia Temple, Daughters of the Nile.
Irene had many hobbies, sewing, quilting, making porcelain dolls and many craft projects. She loved to travel. For several years after Bob retired, they traveled in their fifth wheel to visit friends and family, attend rodeos and work at the Central Washington State Fair. Her greatest joy, though, was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known as “Granny” to all of them and their friends.
Irene is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Sheri Weisser (Al) of Fremont, Calif.; Cheryl Glasgow of Billings; granddaughters Kim Hegg (Doug) of Pleasanton, Calif.; Marcie Delacruz (Dave) of Bothell, Wash.; Patti Perreira of Fremont, Calif.; Robin Maxcy (Bill) of Ft. Lee, Va. and grandson John Sterling of Los Angeles, Calif.; great granddaughters Keli Ribeira of Pleasanton, Calif.; Samantha and Kaitlyn Perreira and Emily Hall of Fremont, Calif.; and great grandsons Joshua Kober and John Maxcy of Ft. Lee, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Genevieve Smith, and infant son Robert William. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service celebrating Irene’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 8th Street West and St. John’s Avenue. Private inurnment will take place at the Pleasantview cemetery in Ballantine. A reception will be held at the Shrine Auditorium following the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Irene’s memory to Big Sky Hospice, P. O. Box 35033, Billings 59107 or the Al Bedoo Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 1125 Broadwater Avenue, Billings 59102.
Cremation or Funeral Gallery is in charge of arrangements.

Robert J. Bishop
POWELL, Wyo. – Robert J. Bishop, 81, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2000, at the Veterans Hospital, in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Union Presbyterian Church, Powell. Burial will follow in Crown Hill cemetery with the Powell Veteran’s Honor Guard providing full military honors. Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home, in Powell, is in charge of the arrangements.

Carl E. Jensen
FORSYTH – Carl E. Jensen, 84, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Beals Mortuary Chapel in Forsyth. Cremation has taken place. Interment of the urn will follow at the Forsyth cemetery. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangements.

Hope Nutter Delano
TOLEDO, Wash. – Hope (Nutter) Delano, of Toledo, Wash., formerly of Forsyth and Hysham areas, passed away Feb. 20, 2000, at her home in Toledo.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Forsyth cemetery with interment of the urn to follow. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Martha M. Hinebauch
HAVRE – Martha M. Hinebauch, 91, passed away May 12, 2000, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre due to natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Sixth Avenue Christian Church with burial following in Highland cemetery. Arrangements are by Edward’s Funeral Home of Chinook.

Howard Lawrence Mattson
MANHATTAN – Howard Lawrence Mattson, 81, of Manhattan, passed away Friday, May 12, of natural causes.
He was born March 2, 1919 in Bozeman to Eric McCall and Ingeborg Mattson. Howard grew up and attended schools in the Logan and Greycliff areas of Montana. He joined the National Guard in 1941 and was pressed into active duty with the 163 (41st Infantry) Division in the South Pacific mainly on New Guinea during WWII. He married (Irene) Luciel Cloninger of Bozeman on Jan. 20, 1942, shortly before being sent overseas. After the war, Howard worked as outside salesman for Montana Motor Supply before managing the Manhattan Bowling Lanes beginning the fall of 1959. Howard later bought the lanes which he sold upon his retirement in 1978. Howard also built the Manhattan Camper Court on Wooden Shoe Lane. Luciel preceded him in death on July 7, 1997.
Howard and Luciel have three children: Janet of Gaithersburg Md., Gary of Loveland Colo., and Don who has lived with his father (Howard) the past three years. Howard also has five grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by one half-brother, Fred (Dorine) Mattson of Billings; and two half sisters, Mildred (Herman) Krumm and Beverly (George) Latta of Huntley.
Howard was a member of the American Legion and the Bozeman Elks Lodge where he spent many a pleasurable afternoon these last few years, always having a kind word and a smile for everyone.
Howard and Luciel's three children feel very privileged and blessed that they had such wonderful parents.
Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service is handling the arrangements. Services will be held at the Manhattan Bible Church in Manhattan on South Fifth Street beginning at 2 p.m. Monday, May 15. Interment will be at Meadow View cemetery.
