Clara H. Becker
Clara H. Becker passed away Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Western Manor Care Center. She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Shepherd and raised in Shepherd, a daughter of Peter and Eva Hinkle. She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1951. She worked as a bank teller for Security Bank for a number of years. Prior to that she worked for First National Bank and in Laurel at the First Security Bank.
Clara enjoyed cooking, flowers, handicraft, sewing, crocheting and raising her garden and flowers and very much liked farming and all the work associated with it. She also taught Sunday School and belonged to the Ladies Aid Program at Pilgrim Congregational Church.
She is survived by three children: Holly (Richard) Waddell of Billings who cared for Clara throughout the years; Greg (Cindy) Becker of Casper, Wyo.; Brad (Connie) Becker of Billings; two step-children Robert Becker Jr. (Bev) of Butte and Shari (Bob) Hellen of Crosby, N.D.; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters: Frieda Swoboda of Billings; Dorothy (Archie) Schroeker of Fallon, Mont.; Betty Henderson of Billings; Evelyn (Marlin) Powell of Billings and Helen (Jay) Shaw of Taylorsville, Utah.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, at the Pilgrim Congregational Church; 409 S. 36th. Interment will follow at the Rockvale cemetery. Memorials may be made to MS Society, Montana Chapter, 1242 N. 28th Street, Billings, MT 59101; or to Big Sky Hospice, P.O Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107.

Lillian V. Pabst
Lillian Victoria Pabst, 81, died at her home Sunday, May 7, 2000.
Following her wishes, the body has been cremated and no services will be held. Inurnment will be at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Ariz.

Phyllis I. Hagen
COLUMBIA FALLS – Phyllis I. Hagen, 74, died suddenly at her home on Saturday, May 6, 2000, of natural causes.
Visitation will be from 1-7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, at the Columbia Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn cemetery.

Nellie Mae Ward
HELENA – Nellie Mae Ward, 76, formerly of Ekalaka, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at the Rocky Mountain Care Center.
Rosary Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Ekalaka. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Patrick James Foley
COLUMBUS – Patrick James Foley, 88, of Columbus died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
He was born Oct. 26, 1931. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Foley, his mother, Edna Foley and his sister, Shirley Ferry.
Pat was born and raised in Columbus and was a farmer in the area far many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathleen Galstead of Everett, Wash., and Mary Ann McJunkin of Ridgecrest, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Mountainview cemetery in Columbus. Smith Funeral Chapel-Columbus is in charge.

Patricia Gore Fox
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Patricia Gore Fox, 89, of 701 Oaknoll Drive, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, in Oaknoll Retirement Residence following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on June 17, 2000, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City. George L. Gay Funeral Home, Iowa City, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Susanne Fox of Columbia, Md. Also surviving are two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; and a brother, Alfred Gore.
Patricia Gore Fox was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Bangor, Northern Ireland, to James and Mary Gill Gore. She grew up in Billings and attended art school in Seattle before graduating from Montana State University in 1934 with a degree in art. After teaching art in Montana, she married Henry Fox, her college sweetheart, on July 16, 1936, in Billings. They left Montana for the East and Pat became a corporate wife. In Cincinnati, Pat and Henry gained good friends and a daughter. Pat had a chance to pursue her art in several forms, making a ceramic plaque for the local elementary school in Wyoming, Ohio.
When Procter & Gamble transferred Pat and Henry to Iowa City, Pat signed up for art classes at the university. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City where she served on United Thank Offering, the alter guild and provided artworks for church showings. Pat was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter H I, the AAUW and the League of Women Voters. In the early ’90s, Pat was represented in the Iowa City Women’s Art Show.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be given to Macular Degeneration Research or Parkinson’s Disease Research.

Wilbur Bo Anderson
Bo Anderson went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2000. He was born in Billings on July 10, 1948, to Willie and Arvalee Anderson.
He had many friends who loved him dearly. For the past 11 years, he cooked at the Eagle Nest Lounge.
He is survived by his children, Candy Anderson and Kathy Meisner of Columbus, Dan Anderson of Park City; four brothers and one sister, Gary Fred, Carol, Bobby Dan, Don and Joe; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Chase Hawks Foundation, Bo 31333, Billings, MT 59107.
We will miss you deeply, Dad!

Franklyn L. Soare
GLENDIVE – Franklyn L. Soare, age 88, of Glendive, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care Facility.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 12, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor James Hageman officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Franklyn was born on June 6, 1911, in Detroit, the son of Franklyn and Florence (McKeever) Soare. He was raised and educated in Glendive. On Jan. 13, 1933, Franklyn was united in marriage to Dena Baisch in Terry. Franklyn operated a trucking service in his early years and in 1942 went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He became an engineer in the early 1950s and held that position until his birthday in 1976 when he retired. Franklyn enjoyed traveling and liked to keep informed on happenings with the railroad and current events. He was a proud and devoted family man.
Survivors include his wife, Dena Soare of Glendive; one son, Franklyn J. Soare and his wife, Jeanette of Auburn, Wash.; his daughter, Jo Ann Tinker of Glendive; one sister, Miriam Heidel of Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren, Joleen Tinker of Williston, N.D., Georgine Tinker of Williston, Greg Tinker and his wife, Wanda of Grand Forks, N.D., Dean Soare of Auburn, Wash., Kristie Soare of Auburn, and Lyn DuPen and her husband, Brad of Auburn; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia DuPen of Auburn.

Phillip Sidney Antonsen
BOZEMAN – Phillip Sidney Antonsen, 80, of Bozeman, passed away May 9, 2000, with his family at his side. He was born Dec. 8, 1919, in Bozeman, to Theodore Christopher and Emma (Ralph) Antonsen.
Phil grew up and attended schools in Bozeman, but graduated from Anaconda High School in 1940. He joined the Montana National Guard at only 15, and then the Marine Corps in 1941, serving in World War II. On March 22, 1944, in Camp Elliot, Calif., he married Marjorie Ann Richter. They had six children, Ruth, Mike, Carol, Thee, Betzy and Torn.
Phil was employed by Montana State College as a lab technician in the engineering department. He was a registered land surveyor for the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Elks Club where he was a past exalted ruler, the American Legion, the Marine Corps League and the Disabled American Veterans. Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, but also liked to spend time gardening.
Phil is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters, Ruth (Ed) Giebel of Pinedale, Wyo., Mike (Andy) Wick of Billings, Carol (Hube) Simanton of Whitewater, Mont., and son, Thee (Joan) Antonsen of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Betzy and Tom; three sisters and two brothers.
Visitation, 1- 3 p.m. Friday at Dahl Funeral Chapel, Vigil, 7 p.m. Friday at Holy Rosary. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church followed by interment in Sunset Hills cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Constance S. Cummings
A memorial service will be held for family and friends of Constance S. Cummings from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2000, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 1241 Crawford Drive.

Doneta Davenport
GLASGOW – Doneta Jean Davenport, 38, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Nemont Manor in Glasgow.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at First Lutheran Church in Opheim. Interment will be in Lawndale cemetery in Opheim. Bell Mortuary in Glasgow is in charge.

Phillip Sidney Antonsen

Elouise Winifred Wilson
Elouise Winifred Wilson left this earth on May 10, 2000, in Billings at the age of 86.
She was born on April 15, 1914, to Paul and Gladys Caswell in Kansas City, Kan. At the age of 12, she arrived in Glide, Ore., via a touring car. It was there that she met and married John Livingston and to this union a daughter, Darlene (Bill) Davis was born. Later she met and married Raymond Wilson and together they had a wonderful life for over half a century. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on July 31, 1995.
In August of 1995, Elouise took her place as “Nana” in the home of her granddaughter, Susan Carlson and her husband, Rick Benzel. This was a busy house filled with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Along with Susan and Rick, Nana had the joy of her great-granddaughter, Natalie (Haynes) and great-great-grandchildren, Trey and Miles Gregory, great-granddaughter, Raychel Carlson and great-great-grandson, Nathan Carlson-Muri; and a very special great-great-granddaughter, Ariel Glenn. Elouise is also survived by her stepson, Roger (Edna) Wilson; granddaughter, Louise (Bill) Quirk; grandson, Darrel Rogers, great-grandchildren, Kristi, Gloria, Stephanie, Cassie, and Scott; grandson, Rick (Linda), great-granddaughters, Nicole and Kari Rogers; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and friends.
Even though Nana will be dearly missed, we know she is taking a safe trip with her protector and friend, Rick Benzel.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 12, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Shepherd Volunteer Fire Department. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

George Cook
FAIRVIEW – George Cook, 65, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at the Sidney Health Center.
Per George’s request, there will be no services. Interment of cremains will be at a later date in the Fairview cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

Gordon Morrison
LAUREL – Gordon Morrison, formerly of Sidney, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at the Deaconess Medical Center, Billings.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sidney. Interment will be in Sidney cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney is in charge.
