Patricia G. Manning
CODY, Wyo. – Patricia Greever Manning, 81, died Friday, July 28, 2000 at the West Park Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, at Christ Episcopal Church. Cremation has taken place. Ballard Funeral Home is in charge.

Georgia Morales
Georgia Morales, 51, of Lodge Grass, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2000, in the Billings St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born Aug. 16, 1949, in Crow Agency, the daughter of Matthew and Maude Bear Ground Stops. She graduated from the Lodge Grass High School in 1967 and the next year went on to school at the Cleveland Academy for Professional Secretaries.
Georgia married Sgt. Isabel Morales. Jr. of the U.S. Army in 1970 in Fort Rucker, Ala.
Georgia worked at IHS for the past twelve years and was the union president for a year during that time. She was a member of the Bad War Deeds and child of Ties the Bundle.
Survivors include her husband, Jim of Lodge Grass; one daughter, Maude M. Morales of Lodge Grass; one son, Isabel James Morales of Lodge Grass; three sisters, Dorothy (Edward) Gaines of Wyola, Aldora (Ben) Big Man of St. Xavier and Linda (Joseph) Big Medicine of Lame Deer; four brothers, Bill (Gail) Stops of Wyola, Wesley (Rebecca) Stops of Crow Agency, Greeley Not Afraid of Billings and Burton Pretty On Top of Hardin; two aunts, Shirley (Bill) Stewart of Lodge Grass and Dorothy (Max) Spotted Bear of Pryor; four uncles, Archie (Evelyn) Bear Ground of Lodge Grass, Issac Dust of Billings, Donald Stewart of Crow Agency and Vincent Goes Ahead of Pryor; one grandmother, Julia Not Afraid of Lodge Grass and numerous nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and church. Georgia was a fun loving, hard working person who was much loved by her family She always had a good sense of humor and was well liked by many people.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, in the Wyola Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Stops Family cemetery, Wyola. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Louise Mullin
LAMBERT – Louise Mullin, 68, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, at the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Sidney. Wake services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Fulkerson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Richland Memorial Park. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

John L. Sexton
John Sexton was born April 6, 1919, one of eight children, to Harry and Kate Sexton in Mitchell, S.D. He died at his home on July 27, 2000, in Billings.
John re-ceived his education at Notre Dame Academy and Note Dame Junior College in Mitchell. He entered the Army in November 1940. On Aug. 2, 1941, John was united in marriage to his college sweetheart, Grace Bittner. He served in the European Theater until his discharge in January, 1946. During this time, he received the Bronze Star and a battlefield commission. Shortly after his discharge, he moved his family to Billings where he worked as an independent paint contractor until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Grace; three daughters, Kathy (Stan) Grotbo of Columbus, Carol (Roy) Neibauer of Bozeman, Pat (Curt) Karlen of Missoula; two sons, John R. (Kathy) of Los Angeles, and Rick (Debbie) of Seattle. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mark (La Donna) Grotbo, Drea (Jeff) Obert, Jennifer (Dave) Dillman, Jeff Neibauer, Ryan and Lauren Sexton, Ricardo Barrera, and Jesus Franco; and two great-grandchildren, Brice and Kelby Grotbo. He is also survived by a sister, Helen; and two brothers, Gene (Lila) and Myron (Jean).
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 31. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 1, at 9 a.m. Both services will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 17 N. 26th St., Blgs. 59101, St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral Improve-ment Fund, or the charity of your choice.

Steven Peter Thulesen
Steven Peter Thulesen, age 39, of Miles City, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his parents’ home after a three year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Di-sease).
Steve was born on Sept. 29, 1960, in Miles City, the son of Jim and Betty Lou (Robinson) Thulesen. He was raised on the family ranch near Powderville and attended Spring Creek School. In 1974, the family moved to Miles City where Steve attended junior high and high school, graduating in 1979.
During his teens, Steve worked for Findlater Feed and his father’s construction business. He then worked on seismograph crews for several years and at Portable Pavers for nine years. Most recently he worked at Nolley’s welding.
Steve loved dirt bikes, Fords and Wendy’s triple cheeseburgers. He enjoyed working on his house and going to Jean Robinson’s ranch to shoot and to cut firewood. He was generous with his money and always gave the best gifts. Even as he was dying, his thoughts were on those who needed help or money.
Steve is survived by his parents, Jim and Betty Lou Thulesen; two brothers, Dave and his wife, Lynn Thulesen of Miles City, and Dick and his wife, Margie Thulesen of Mount Vernon, Wash.; two sisters, Karen and her husband, John Brennan of Mud Butte, S.D., and Libby Thulesen of Sheridan, Wyo.; nieces, Laura and Gretchen Thulesen; and nephew, Chris Brennan all of Miles City.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 30, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 30, in the chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 31, at Grace Bible Church in Miles City with Pastor Jerry Coon officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold V. Bock
BUFFALO, Wyo. – Harold Vance Bock, 85, died Sunday, June 11, at his home.
Graveside interment services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Willow Grove cemetery, followed by military graveside services. Adams Funeral Home is in charge.

June Marie Chandler
SUN LAKES, Ariz. – June Marie Chandler died Feb. 20, 2000, in Mesa following an extended illness.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Lodge Grass, Mont. Interment of cremains will be in the Lodge Grass cemetery. Dahl Funeral Home is in charge.

Ferne Curry Farman
HARDIN – Ferne Curry Farman, 85, of Hardin, formerly of Cody, Wyo., Billings and Yuma, Ariz., passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2000, in the Heritage Acres Nursing Home in Hardin.
She was born May 29, 1915, in Centralia, Boone County, Mo., the firstborn daughter of Edgar Turner and Maggie Davis Sims. She grew up and received her education in Missouri and taught at Strother School.
Ferne married Allen Curry on June 20, 1935, in Mexico, Mo., and the couple moved to Hardin in 1937. Mr. Curry died in 1974. She married Paul Farman on Oct. 1, 1978, in Cody. Mr. Farman died in 1993. She lived in Hardin at the Heritage Acres for the past year and a half
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and Jasmine Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Ferne was preceded in death by her son, Donald; her parents and an infant sister, Anna Josephine.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Dell and Gerald Ellis of Broadus, Sharon and Bill Bird of Spokane, Wash., and Betty Curry and fiance, Bernie Hersel of Richland; two stepdaughters, Maggie and Ralph Newell of Cody, and Paula and Alex Nayes of Forsyth; a stepson, Gary and Bonnie Farman of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; two brothers, J.R. and Nina Sims of Centralia, and Kenneth Sims of Norfolk, Neb.; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 31, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hardin Fairview cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Acres Nursing Home, Hardin, MT 59034.

Dorothy Hogstad
LIVINGSTON – Dorothy Hogstad, 77, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Livingston Health & rehab Center.
Visitation hours are Friday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 28, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Graveside services will follow at Mountain View cemetery. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home is in charge.

Lorraine Hosford
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Lorraine (Lorry) Marie Roach Hosford, 81, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Westview Health Care Center.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Kane Funeral Home is in charge.

William E. Jarrett
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – William “Bill” Jarrett, 87, died May 13 in Cheyenne, after an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Willow Grove cemetery in Buffalo. Adams Funeral Home is in charge.

William Guy Rogers
CARSON CITY, Nev. – William Guy Rogers died July 25, 2000, at his home near Carson City. Born on Sept. 28, 1929, at Fort Missoula, Mont., Bill was the son of Noel (Jack) and Bertie Willis Rogers. He attended schools in Billings, graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1948 and attended Montana State University.
He entered the U.S. Navy in 1950. He was discharged in 1954 and returned to Billings where he was employed at various jobs including 17 years with the Yellowstone County Department of Motor Vehicles. Bill moved to Carson City, Nev., in 1976. He was employed at Frontier Travel & Tours until 1993. After his retirement, he enjoyed seasonal, part-time employment with the Indian Hills General Improvement District Parks and Streets Department.
He married LuElla Carstenson in 1977. Survivors include his wife Lu of Carson City; two sons, Rick and wife, Linda Rogers and Darrel Rogers of Huntley, Mont.; two daughters, Louise and husband, Bill Quirk of Sacramento, Calif., and Susan Carlson of Shepherd, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, Harvey and wife, Terry Rogers of Lakeside, Mont.; step-daughter, Linda and husband, Jerry Hurst of Incline Village, Nev.; and step-son, Danny and wife, Janelle Dubbs of Grand Island, Neb.; seven-step grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and his very special cat, Pilgrim.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill requested that no services be held. Cremation will be under the direction of Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society. His families will scatter his ashes at a private ceremony.
Donations may be sent to Saint Mary’s Hospice, 3264 Goni Road No. 151, Carson City, NV 89706. Remember him by planting a rose bush or a tree, by feeding the birds, or by adopting a cat.

Phyllis Bahr
HARDIN – Phyllis Bahr, 56, of Ashland, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Saltwater, Ariz., a daughter of Foster Charley and Lena Benally Charley. She grew up and in Saltwater/Teec Nos Pos, Ariz., and Cortez, Colo.
Phyllis attended the Teec Nos Pos Boarding Schools and graduated from Gallup (N.M.) High School. She later attended Fort Lewis College and the Cleveland Med/Tech School.
She married Lester Bahr on Feb. 8, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been employed at the St. Labre Indian School since 1985, working as a teacher’s aide, administrative assistant for the Cheyenne Home, accounting clerk and most recently as a human resources clerk. Phyllis was an active member of the Ashland Christian Fellowship Church and was the bookkeeper for several years. She enjoyed going to church, riding around in the hills, sewing, attending basketball games and spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother, Lena; a sister, Carole and a brother, Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Lester; two daughters, Cindy (Jeff) and Candace; one son, Charles; grandchildren, Chennille, Marissa, Chelsey, Ashley and Tynwaya. She is also survived by her father, Foster; her sisters, Betty Martinez, Bertha Ann Tanner and Barbara Jean Charlie; her brothers, Calvin Charlie and Herbert E. Charley; nieces, Tiffany Charlie, Miranda Charlie, Jaimey Tanner, Karla Charlie, Kristie Martinez, Stacey C. King, Michelle Charlie and Rychelle Charlie; nephews, Kendall Lee, Randall Lee, Michael Charlie, Bryan Charlie and Aric Banally; great-niece, Deany and great-nephew, Tyren.
Wake services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, in the St. Labre Social Room. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday in the St. Labre Mission Church with interment to follow in the Ashland City cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Emanuel Bender
HARLOWTON – Emanuel Bender passed away Monday, July 24, 2000, of natural causes at 9:30 a.m. at the Deaconess Hospital in Billings. He was 87 years old.
He was born Oct. 10, 1912, in Garden City, Kan., the oldest son of Eva and Henry Bender.
He married Laura Bender (Kerner) May 6, 1933, in Columbus. They lived in Billings until 1956 and moved to El Cajon, Calif. They lived in Harlowton since 1989.
Emanuel served in the Navy during WWII. He worked in construction until he retired in 1974.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Bender of Harlowton; three sons, Richard Bender (Susie), Robert Bender (Pattie), (Robert’s ex-wife, Daneda), Gerald Bender (Edie); and one daughter, Doris Newlin (Newell); 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Fred Bender, Bill Bender, George Bender; and one sister, Lillian Griffen.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings. George Bender Jr. will officiate.
