SHERIDAN, Wyo. – G. Lyle Dunsdon, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at Westview Health Care Center.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Wesley Chapel cemetery near Henderson, Iowa, at a later date.

Darlene Gudgeon
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. – Darlene Faye Gudgeon, 54, died Aug. 19, 2000, at her home after a long illness.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, at Mortimore Funeral Home.

Derek R. Johnson
DODSON – Derek R. Johnson, 28, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings from injuries received when the camper he was in blew off the pick-up near Grass Range.
Wake services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Red Whip Center in Fort Belknap. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dodson High School gymnasium. Cremation will follow at the Hi-Line Crematory in Malta. Memorial may be made to the Derek Johnson Roping Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 146, Dodson, MT 59524. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge.

Scott Charles Leedham
Scott C. Leedham, 70, of Billings passed away suddenly Friday, Aug. 18. 2000.
Scott was born to Tom William Leedham and Anna Scott Leedham on Nov. 2, 1929, in Glasgow. Scott was raised in Glasgow and graduated from high school there on May 28, 1947. Scott then attended the North Dakota School of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., and subsequently became a printer in New England, N.D.
Scott served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Combat. Following his military service Scott attended the University of Montana earning a bachelor of art degree majoring in both journalism and sociology. Scott moved to Billings after graduation Dec. 16, 1955 and worked as a reporter for the Western Livestock Reporter
Scott then worked as a printer for the Billings Gazette.
On June 24, 1957, Scott married the former Arleda Mae Guthrie. Scott was the proprietor of the Leedham Printing Company until he returned to the work at the Gazette in 1970. Scott retired from the Advertising Sales Department of the Gazette in 1985. In 1988, Scott became a licensed hearing aid dispenser, a occupation he practiced until his death.
Scott was president of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity chapter while at the University of Montana. He was a Master Mason and a lifelong member of the New England, N.D., Masonic Lodge. Scott was a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Billings where he and Arleda married 43 years ago. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans and had been a member of Civitan Service Club, and Sertoma Service Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Arleda; his sons, Scott (Marilou) of Lompoc, Calif., and Kevin (Robyn) Myers of Billings; grandchildren, Vincent and Katherine, Kimberly, Brandee, Charity, Travis and two great-grandchildren; his brother, Tom Leedham of Vancouver, B.C.; sisters, Betty Brownfield of Bozeman, and Ruth Addison of Oakhurst, Calf.; sister-in-law, Dolores (Eugene) Jurovich of Billings, brother-in-law, Vinton (Linda) Guthrie, close nephews, Derek and Chase Guthrie, and nieces, Cerise Brown and Jean Ballantine, along with other well loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nina Hammock.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Ave. B. Visitation will be at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Interment will be in Terrace Gardens cemetery. Memorials to the charity of your choice.

Carol Ann Morris
BELFRY – Carol was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at the age of 47. Carol died peacefully at her home in Belfry surrounded by her family. She was born in Great Falls, on Dec. 30, 1952, the daughter of Ralph and Julia (Mornout) Anderson and was raised in the Brady and Conrad area.
In 1970, she graduated from Brady High School and attended college in Havre and Billings. On July 17, 1976, Carol was united in marriage to Le Morris in Billings. They have lived in the Clarks Fork Valley since 1980.
Carol was a partner to Le, working alongside of him as a parent and shop owner on their farm and in their home, sailing headlong into their dreams as they did every day of life. Carol and Le were very fortunate, in that most the their dreams were accomplished. She would lend a quiet hand to any person or thing, never needing the recognition. Carol raised four children with so much love and care. She loved life in every way, but her main devotion was to her family, her grandchildren put an extra sparkle in Carol’s eyes. Carol was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Carol leaves behind her loving husband and partner of 24 years, Le; children, Ian and his wife, Tracy and two grandsons, Kai and Finlay of Whitby, England; Luke and his wife, Lara and granddaughter, Kameesha, daughter, Scottia and son, Seth, all of Belfry. Other survivors include her mother, Julia Anderson, and her brother, John Anderson and his wife, Amy. Her father, Ralph, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belfry. Memorials may be made to the Carol Morris Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of Bridger, PO Box 447, Bridger, MT 59014.

Thelma A.E. ‘Berg’ Ness
Thelma A.E. “Berg” Ness passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at the Billings Deaconess Care Center.
She was born July 3, 1910, in the Mount Green area of Brombead, Saskatchewan, Canada. She immigrated with her parents to Crosby, N.D., in 1926 and became a U. S. citizen in 1934.
Thelma married Arthur H. Ness on Sept. 17, 1931, and they farmed south of Columbus, N.D., until 1944 when the family moved to Billings.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church and an active member of Corcordia Circle.
Thelma is survived by three children: Philip (Janet) Ness of Billings; LeAnn (Larry) Abrahamson of Fort Collins, Colo., and Dorla (Joe) Del Castillo of Show Low, Ariz. She treasured each of her grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Emiley Pacini of Danville, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 1988.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the American Lutheran Church in Billings. Interment will follow at Terrace Gardens cemetery. Viewing will be at Smith Downtown Chapel Wed. 8 a.m.-9 p.m. and Thursday prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to American Lutheran Church, 5 Lewis Ave., Billings, MT 59101.

Earl Duane Ostby
GLENDIVE – Earl Duane Ostby, 67, died on Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at the Glendive Medical Center.
In memory of Earl, there will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date at Fort Peck Lake. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is in charge.

Henry Rondeau Sr.
CROW AGENCY – Henry Rondeau Sr., 89, of Crow Agency, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, in the Crow Agency IHS Hospital.
Meonestoohe “Hollers in the Morning” was born March 11, 1911, in Lame Deer, a son of William and Hattie Bisby Rondeau. His early life was filled with breaking broncos, rodeos and working the family B Heart ranch near Kirby. He was a hard-working and easy-going person, whose life was enriched with many friends.
Henry married Julia Schaffer on Oct. 31, 1934, and the couple made their home in Crow Agency. Mrs. Rondeau died in 1965.
He was an avid sports fan, often following his children to basketball and football games. His house was always open with a hot cup of coffee ready for his guests. He and his wife raised many children and “Gramps” always had one of the children on his knee. He was an adopted member of the Whistling Water Clan.
Henry was preceded in death by two sons, Orville and Larson.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret (Issac) Shoulderblade of Lame Deer and Lydina White Bear of Hardin; two sons, Tim (Tela) Rondeau and Henry (LaBerta) Rondeau Jr. of Crow Agency; three children whom he raised, Sherri Smells, Rodney and Natasha Rendeau; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren and seven great-great-great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairview cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

David J. Stickelmeyer
MILES CITY – David John Stickelmeyer, 52, died on July 27, 2000, at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery.

Harold Lee Trumbull
CASPER, Wyo. – Harold Lee “Lee” Trumbull, 64, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody.

Russell J. Aisenbrey
BELFRY – Russell J. Aisenbrey, 26, of Belfry, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, in a car accident.
Russell was born in Billings, Mont., on March 3, 1974, to Gordon and Diana (Mill) Aisenbrey. He was raised on his family’s farm near Belfry, Mont. He graduated in 1992 from Belfry High School.
Russell enjoyed life, his family and friends.
Russell is survived by his parents; his brother, Doug; sister-in-law, Denise and niece, Katelin; also his grandparents, Alex and Mandi Mill and Regina Aisenbrey; and his special friend, Kayce Richardson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel, Billings. A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, at 5 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel, Billings. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Belfry School Multipurpose Room at 3 p.m. Interment at the Belfry cemetery, luncheon and fellowship following at Belfry School. Memorial may be made to the Russell J. Aisenbrey Scholarship Fund in care of Aisenbrey, RR1, Box 1139A, Bridger MT 59014.

Annetta Beck
BAKER – Annetta Beck, age 90, of Baker, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. She was born July 16, 1910, the daughter of Levous and Genvra Steves Grow. Annetta grew up in the Ollie and Baker areas. On Feb. 18, 1927, she was married to William “Bill” Varner. To this union, five children were born. Bill passed away in February of 1947. Annetta was married to William A. Beck on Nov. 13, 1948 at Baker. They owned and operated Beck’s Cafe' and Timber Bar. Annetta worked for the Ben Franklin Store and later traveled with Bill on his job with the Fish and Game. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Clifton Varner and his wife, Kay of Baker and James Varner and his wife, Bonnie of Spearfish, S.D.; a daughter, LaVonne Thielen of Plevna; two sisters, Arma Gene Elmore and her husband, Meade of Ekalaka and Kathleen Palmer of Modesto, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Herb Varner; a daughter, Leota Varner; two brothers, Nelson and Thurston “Bub” Grow; and three sisters, Vera Bruce, Thelma Spinks and an infant sister, Genevieve Grow.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, at Stevenson’s Funeral Home in Baker. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Bonnievale cemetery in Baker. Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker is in charge of the arrangements.

William H. Burkitt
BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Dr. William H. Burkitt passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Mt. Baker Convalescent Center in Bellingham, Wash., a victim of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 85, born April 7, 1915, in Ridgeway, Colo. He received his bachelor of science degree from Colorado A&M College in 1937, his master of science degree from the Washington State University in 1939, and his Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition from Cornell University in 1948. He then served on the faculty in the Animal Husbandry Department at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont, until 1951 when he was selected as the Director of Nutrition of Colorado Milling and Elevator Company in Denver, Col. He moved back to Montana in 1954 to take a similar position with Montana Flour Mills in Great Falls. He began a consulting business in 1965, first in Great Falls, Mont., and later in Billings, Mont., at which he worked until his retirement in 1990.
Dr. Burkitt was a world-recognized animal nutrition authority. He served in various capacities in his professional organizations, culminating in his term as national president of the American Feed Manufacturers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Arliene Burkitt, a resident of Merrill Gardens, Bellingham; two sons: William D. Burkitt of Bellingham, Bruce W. Burkitt of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, August 21, at Faith Lutheran Church with The Reverend R.L. Christensen officiating.

Drage Damjanovich
Drage Damjanovich, 88 of Billings, passed away Monday morning, August 21, 2000, at Valley Health Care Center. She was born March 3, 1912, in Monarch, Wyo., the daughter of Marko and Kristina (Turcinovich) Vujovich.
Drage was raised and educated in Bearcreek, Mont. She married Blazo Damjanovich on Nov. 17, 1929, in Gebo, Wyo. They moved to Billings in 1939, where their twelve children were raised.
Drage loved life, her children, and the color green. Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed baking, crocheting, and visiting with her family. As a young girl, she was a member of the Circle of Serbian Sisters. Her presence will be missed dearly, but her amazing spirit will always be with us. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Helen Klundt and Drago Damjanovich.
Those left to honor her memory include her ten surviving children, Pete (Alice) Damjanovich of Ballantine; Vidak Damjanovich of Laurel; Vide (Nick) Mirich of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Christina Damjanovich of Billings; Mileva (Cloyd) Hudson of Musselshell, Mont.; Daisy (Ben) Carlson, Anje Openshaw and Milt (Carole) Damjanovich, all of Billings; Stella (Deryl) Openshaw of Shepherd; and Rich (Bonnie) Damjanovich of Belgrade; 38 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Wednesday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. A Prayer Service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, August 24, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist with interment to follow in Mountview cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

Suzette Tanya Eagle
ASHLAND – Suzette Tanya Eagle, age 26, of Ashland, passed away Aug. 18, 2000, at Deaconess Medical Hospital after a short illness.
Suzette was born at Crow Hospital, the daughter of Stanley Eagle Sr. and Wanda Yellow Hair, both of Ashland.
Suzette attended middle school at Ashland elementary and was very active in basketball and girl scouts. She continued playing basketball into her high years at St. Labre and Busby. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her two very special daughters whom she loved dearly.
Survivors include both her daughters, Keshia Lyn Rose Eagle of Ashland and Jayna Lei Two Moons of Muddy Cluster; her father, Stanley (LaDonna) Eagle Sr. and mother, Wanda Yellow Hair; two sisters, Julia and Katona Eagle, both of Ashland; brothers, Darren (Nadine) Yellow Hair, Stanley (Alisha) Eagle Jr., Uribe “Sam” Eagle, Kevin and Wayne Bordeaux, all of Ashland, and Mikie Eagle of Bullhead, S.D. She is also survived by a special aunt, Lena Gray and aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as friends who will always love her.
Suzette was preceded in death by grandparents, Eli and Katheryn Eagle, Frank and Betty Yellow Hair, and a very special auntie, Lydia KillsEnemy.
Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Labre Mission Catholic Church near Ashland. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the St. Labre cemetery. Rausch Funeral Home of Lame Deer is in charge.
