Clara M. Green Webber
Clara M. Green Webber was born Aug. 6, 1910, in Cartwright, N.D., to parents Clark Green and Bertha Pierce Green. She passed away on Aug. 17, 2000, in her Laurel home with her family by her side. She lived 90 full years.
Her parents moved to Fromberg when Clara was four years old. In 1922, the Crow Reservation was opened for leasing land and Mr. Green leased a tract at the foot of the Pryor Mountains. The family spent their summers and weekends there. During the week, they lived in Fromberg where the children attended school. Clara graduated from Fromberg High School.
Clara married Les Collins in 1935. Together they managed a grocery store in Fromberg. One daughter, Judith Collins, was born to this union. In 1939, Clara had the privilege of caring for her brother’s (Emerson Green) baby girl, Donna Green McKamy, after the death of Donna’s mother. It was a joy to raise Judy and Donna together for two years and Donna remained like a daughter to Clara all through her life. Judy passed away in 1975.
In 1945, Clara married Charles Drinkard. They lived on a ranch near Pryor and had one daughter, Connie Drinkard Burlson. Years later Clara married Roy Webber and they spent many happy days living in Big Timber until Roy’s death in 1975.
After some years Clara moved to Laurel to be near to her beloved Connie and her grandchildren. She enjoyed her grandchildren and she loved to cook and sew. She made a quilt for each of her grandchildren. Clara lived a life of loving and caring for people. She cooked for several people in their homes in Big Timber and cared for many of her neighbors in Laurel when she was well into her eighties.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy; and her brothers and sister, Forrest, Emerson, her twin Clarence, and Alice. She is survived by her niece, Donna McKamy; daughter, Connie Burleson; and six grandchildren.
A special thanks to the loving and professional care of Big Sky Hospice. Memorials may be sent to Big Sky Hospice, PO Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107-5033.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 21, at Big Timber Congregational Church. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View cemetery in Big Timber. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Clarence R. ‘Sonny’ Williams
FROMBERG – Clarence R. “Sonny” Williams, of Fromberg, born Feb. 1, 1936, went to be with the lord on Aug. 15, 2000.
Sonny was at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minnesota. and passed away from complications with his heart. Sonny was born to Dorothy Betts and Clarence Williams of Hardin.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Richard (Denise) Williams of Billings, Clarence (Butch) Williams of Fromberg, Roxanne (Benjamin) Burtts of Shepherd, and Robert Williams of Bridger; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Johnson of Fromberg; his father, Clarence Williams of Hardin; his brother, Robert Johnson; and sister, Kathleen Johnson of Fromberg.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Smith’s Funeral Home.

Rita Woodley
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Rita Woodley, 64, a resident of Albuquerque, since 1987, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000.
She is survived by husband of 41 years, Erne Woodley of Albuquerque; daughter, Kelly Abresch of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; sons, Robb Woodley and wife, Andrea of Billings and Arlen Woodley of Albuquerque; grandsons, Ryan, Andy, E.J. and Christopher, all of Pagosa Springs; granddaughters, Riley Ann and Jordyn, both of Billings; sisters, Mona Rosley and husband, Don of Wahpeton, N.D., Anne Haugen of Bowman, N.D., and Holly Abelseth of Sidney, Mont.; brothers, Garry Bertrand and wife, Dorothy of Colorado Springs, and Rick Bertrand of Virginia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Woodley was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle Bertrand and Helen Orcutt; sons, Kevin and Craig; and daughter, Lori.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE in Albuquerque with Deacon George Sandoval. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, Albuquerque, with Father Louis J. Lambert, S.J. Private disposition will follow services. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the escorts and couriers at the VA Hospital. Friends may visit French Mortuary on Sunday, one hour prior to the rosary.

Clement Batalden
BUFFALO, Wyo. – Clement Batalden 94, died at the Amie Holt Nursing Care Center on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000.
Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial cemetery in Windom, Minn., at a later date.

Josephine B. Batinovich
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Josephine B. Batinovich, 91, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Sheridan Manor.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at Champion Funeral Home. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Gillette.

Jacob Bue
ABSAROKEE – Jacob Bue, 70, of Absarokee, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center.
Jacob was born Dec. 9, 1929, at the family ranch four miles west of Reed Point, a son of Oisten and Frieda Bue. He married Clara Nordmark. They were later divorced. He married Donna Bare in 1976.
Jacob was a lifelong rancher, expert woodworker, carver and leather craftsman. He enjoyed the Absarokee Senior Citizens and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Absarokee; one son, Steve (Jill) Bue of Reed Point; three daughters, Janice (Steven) Ott of Reed Point, Karen Peterson of Butte, Kathy Dreher of Absarokee; one sister, Cora (Cecil) Earp of Grangeville, Idaho; eight grandchildren: Willy, Jon, Tiffany, Dulcie, Rachael, Lisa, Kristen and Brittany; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one son.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Absarokee. Cremation will follow. Smith Funeral Chapel-Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Reed Point School or charity of choice.

Rosemary ‘Pat’ Bushman
MALTA – Rosemary “Pat” Bushman, 70, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls from complications during surgery.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Malta. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment in the Malta cemetery. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge.

Rose K. Crane
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Rose K. Crane, 92, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, in Sheridan Manor.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, in Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Ferries Funeral Home is in charge.

Franklin L. Eckard
Franklin L Eckard, 65, of Billings, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at the Parkview Care Center.
He was born May 6, 1935, in Bearcreek, the son of Arthur and Ruth (Mills) Eckard. He was raised in Belfry, and at the age of 14 he moved to Thermopolis, Wyo. He graduated in 1953 from Thermopolis High School and the attended Eastern Montana College in Billings and Montana State University, where he graduated in 1962.
Frank married Martina (Tina) Paul, June 9, 1962, in Billings. He worked for Honeywell Inc. for 29 years at Aerospace and Defense. His work took them to various places in the United States and Europe. He also founded a company called TonerMiser, Inc., in Largo, Fla., which he sold when they moved back to Billings in 1995. He then opened TonerMiser On Site which he and his wife operated until Frank’s illness began in 1998.
Frank loved to watch television and was an avid reader, loved to visit, play cards and travel.
Survivors include is wife, Martina “Tina” of Billings; a brother, James “Jim” S. Eckard and wife, Sylvia of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and sister, Sybil A. (Bud) of Casper, Wyo.; 21 nieces, and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Verna Monk and Barbara Smith,
Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W. Entombment will be in Terrace Gardens Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59101.

John Hafner
WOLF POINT – John Hafner, 39, died Wednesday, August 16, 2000, at the N.E. Montana Health Services.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the Clayton Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Chapel. Cremation will take place following the services.

Gerard Wade Healy
LODGE POLE – Gerard Wade Healy, 19, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, in automobile accident.
Wake/Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at the Chief Nosey Center. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the Chief Nosey Center with interment in the Big Warm cemetery at Lodge Pole.
Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge.

Alma Gabrielson
PLENTYWOOD – Alma Gabrielson, 92, formerly of Westby, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home in Plentywood.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westby. Interment will be in the MacElroy cemetery.
Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

Corey Richard Jackson
Our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and godson died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 17, at his grandmother’s home at the age of 27.
His grandfather, Harold Mann, preceded him in death.
Corey is the son of Gary E. and Susan J. Jackson, both residing in Colorado Springs, Colo. Corey was a sweet young man with a ready smile who loved music, electronics, computers, river rafting, football (a real Bronco fan), being outdoors and his cat, Harley.
Corey was born on July 9, 1973, in Ogden, Utah.
Corey had the great opportunity to travel the world while his father was in the Air Force. He lived in Germany, Virginia and Colorado. He graduated from Mitchell High School on June 15, 1992, in Colorado Springs. Corey had a special connection with each family member, and was especially devoted to his beloved grandmother. He was loved by all of us and we will miss him very much.
There will only be a private family Memorial Service on Sunday afternoon at Dahl Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Lee presiding. Cremation will be at Dahl’s. Memorials may be made to the Parmly Billings Library, 510 N. Broadway, Billings, MT 59101, Humane Society of the United States, 490 N. 31st St., Suite 215, Billings, MT 59101 or the American Red Cross Shelter, 702 Central Ave., Billings, MT 59101.

Rebecca Skiles Aten
BUFFALO, Wyo. – Rebecca Skiles Aten, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at the VA Medical Center in Sheridan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, from the Grace Fellowship Church in Buffalo. Interment will be in Willow Grove cemetery with military graveside rites. Adams Funeral Home is in charge.

Ruby Wiechert Armstrong
Ruby Wiechert Armstrong passed away at the Valley Health Care Center Aug. 16, 2000, after a short illness.
She was born in Laurel, Dec. 1, 1919, to Lottie and Bill Wiechert. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1937 and then attended Billings Business College. Ruby worked 11 years as a legal secretary in the Oil and Minerals Division at the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern railroads. She also worked as an executive secretary for the Northern Pipeline Proposal.
Ruby met and married Lynn Armstrong Sept. 1, 1949, in Red Lodge.
She is survived by her beloved husband; a nephew, Bill Wiechert and his wife, Eva; a stepson, Fred Armstrong, and several stepdaughters and stepsons along with a number of cousins. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack.
She was a member of Eastern Star.
Ruby had one of the first bicycles with balloon tires and was the envy of the neighborhood.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Friday from 5-9 p.m. at Smith Downtown Chapel. Friends and family will meet at the cemetery.

Dorothy F. Erickson
Dorothy F. Erickson died Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Eagle Cliff Manor.
Cremation has taken place at Smith’s Crematory. No services are planned. Interment of her cremains will take place at Mountview cemetery in Billings.
