Rene B. Petosa
WORDEN – Rene B. Petosa, 73, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1927, in Chicago, a son of Henry and Theresa Brondola Petosa. He was raised in Columbus and moved to Billings in the 1940’s.
He is survived by his siter, Lorraine Wilcox of San Francisco and numerous cousins.
Cremation was held at Cremation or Funeral Gallery. Graveside inurnment will take place later at Mountview cemetery.

Alfred L. Robinson
On Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, heaven got a new star. A special man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Al was born April 22, 1912, to Sam and Mary Robinson, on their ranch in Lockwood. He grew up there, attending sch-ool in Lock-wood and later in Billings. In 1934, he married the love of his life, Hilma E. Davids, and they spent the next 66 years together. In 1937, they had a son, Robert A. Robinson.
Al went to work for the Yale Oil Co. which would later be the Carter Oil Co. and is now Exxon/Mobil. He gave over 36 years of dedicated service to the refinery and retired as a supervisor in 1970. After that he and Hilma did what they loved best, they got in their Suburban and pulled their trailer all over, seeing the sights. They were snowbirds that spent the winters in Tucson and then Mesa, Ariz., for the next 22 years. In 1992, they returned to Billings to be close to their son, daughter-in-law, their two granddaughters and their families. Al was a lifetime member of the Masons, Ashlar Lodge No. 29. He loved his family, the outdoors, traveling, Suburbans and dogs.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Hilma of Billings; his son, Bob and wife, Karen of Laurel; granddaughter, Debbie and husband, Cliff Schenk and their boys, Tyrell and Casey of Silesia; and granddaughter, Rene’ and husband, Terry Ruff and their children, Justin and Alee of Laurel.
We will miss you and love you always...until we meet again. As were Al’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
Memorials can be sent to: Ashlar Lodge No. 29, Billings Masonic Center, 1101 Broadwater Ave., Billings, MT 59102.

Michael J. Rocheleau
Michael J. Rocheleau, of Billings, died Friday morning, Sept. 1, 2000, at home after a brief illness with cancer. Born Feb. 6, 1954, in Great Falls, where he attended grade schools. He then moved to Dodson, where he graduated in 1973, from Dodson High School. He received a certificate for Certified Nursing Assistant in October of 1981.
Mike has worked at various jobs throughout his lifetime, including several years at the Great Falls Deaconess Hospital, Park View Nursing Home in Billings, and his most recent employment at the Billings Deaconess Hospital.
His favorite pastimes include playing cards, fishing and joking with his coworkers.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Cole; and stepfather, Neil Cole, of Dodson; his special sister/cousin and buddy Patti Hazen, of Billings; three children, Maemie, Michael, and Tony of Great Falls; and two stepsisters, Michelle Cole of Hamilton, and Viola Grant of Havre.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2000, at the Dodson Lutheran Church, in Dodson.
Memorials may be directed to the Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107-5033.

Henry Eugene ‘Gene’ Rogers
Henry Eugene “Gene” Rogers, 81, of Billings, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at the Deaconess Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of William R. and Corabelle Ren-fro Rogers. He was very proud of having served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1946. Gene came to Billings in the early ’60s and had worked for the Associated Grocers until retiring in 1983. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora M. Rogers on Aug. 9, 1966.
Survivors include special friends Marie and Bill Smith, and much beloved godson, Edward Smith. Three stepchildren, close friends, and neighbor Doris Helzer.
Cremation has been held and a memorial will be held later. Memorials may be made to the VFW. Arrangements were by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Martin Weinzetl
Martin Weinzetl, age 93, died at home on Sept. 1, 2000. He was born on Jan. 4, 1907, in West Bend, Iowa. At the age of four, he moved with his parents to Powell, Wyo., and later moved to Pompeys Pillar. He attended Huntley Pro-ject school and farmed with his father.
He married Agatha Weidinger in June 1931. She passed away in 1938. In 1940, he married Helen Reiter in Currie, Minn., and they continued to farm in Pompeys Pillar until 1990 when they retired and moved to Billings.
Martin served on the Farmers Union board and the Project Irrigation board. He was active in St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Pompeys Pillar and later at St. Bernard’s in Billings. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Martin loved his family and ranching and his church. He was never too busy to give his time to anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons, Don and wife, Darlene of Shepherd, David of Necedah, Wis., and Ken of Encinitas, Calif.; four grandchildren, Donna Weigard, Carla and Monica of Belgrade, and Zachary of Bozeman; two great grandchildren and one sister, Regina Kuntz of Custer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
The rosary will be said 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at St. Bernard’s Parish. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at St. Bernard’s Parish with Rite of Committal at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, St. Bernard’s Parish or the charity of one’s choice.

Eligio C. Solis, Sr.
POWELL – Eligio C. Solis, Sr., 69, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at the Powell Hospital.
Christian Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 5, at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Crown Hill cemetery. Mirastsky-Easton Funeral Home is in charge.

Katie Marie White
Katie Marie White, 7, of Billings, passed away Aug. 30, 2000, at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah as the result of a car and pedestrian accident.
Katie was born on May 17, 1993, to John K. and Tina Margaret Howe White in Helena. She loved painting and playing. “She was a happy go lucky little girl.”
Katie is survived by her parents, John and Tina White, of Billings; brother, Jack Kenneth White, of Billings; grandparents, Lester and Deloris White of Townsend; and grandmother, Virginia Fieburg, of East Helena.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Connors Funeral Home, 212 Broadway, Townsend. Elder Morris Brusett and Pastor Nick Turner will officiate the services. Interment will be in the Deep Creek cemetery in Townsend.

Arthur ‘Ding’ LeRoy Antonson
WOLF POINT – Arthur (Ding) LeRoy Antonson passed away early Tuesday morning, August 29, 2000, at the Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont. He had been battling congestive heart disease and related illnesses for over three years.
Art was born at Hannaford, N.D., November 9, 1916, to Elinder and Anna Antonson. When he was twelve, the family moved to Plentywood, Mont. where he continued his education, graduating from Plentywood High School in 1935.
After graduation, Art worked in Glasgow until enlisting in the Army Air Corp. in November of 1941. He spent the next war years as a radio operations instructor for bomber crews. Art was given an Honorable Discharge in November 1945, after serving four years and six days, with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
After his military service, he managed clubs in Glasgow, Sidney and Williston. In 1958, the family moved to Wolf Point where he began his career in the insurance field until his retirement
Art married Wilma Holzapfel on December 3, 1944, while stationed at Sioux Falls Air Base, S.D. Together they raised three children, Gary with partner, Penny of Glasgow; Allen and his wife, Jodi of Great Falls, and Laura Cates. Besides his children he is survived by his sister, Mae and husband, Fay Martin of Edina, , Minn.; seven grandchildren; Chris Antonson, Heather Antonson, Mark Antonson, Donovan Gates, Beau Gates, Vanessa Compher, and Jillian Antonson; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Antonson, Jordan Antonson, and Gloria Olson.. Art was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Eugene and Eric.
Art had a long and full life. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, and reading. He loved family get togethers featuring “big meals”. He was a good cook and made excellent wine. His gardens were a source of pride and enjoyment. Roses were a special love. For the past few years his favorite pastime was watching sports on TV.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, at Greenwood cemetery in Wolf Point with James Patch presiding and the American Legion Post #55 Honor Guard from Poplar providing military rites.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National World War II Memorial at American Battle Monument Association, PO Box 96766, Washington, DC 20090-6766. Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Todd Bergerson
MILES CITY – Todd Bergerson, age 13, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at his home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Methodist Church with Rev. Grover Briggs officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery.

Russell V. Bowser
WORTHINGTON, Pa. – Russell V. Bowser, 86, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.
Survivors include a son, Jack Bowser of Billings.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Worthington Evangelical Church with burial in Worthington Lutheran cemetery. Snyder Funeral Home is in charge.

Warren Cline
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Warren Cline, 83, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at the Westview Health Care Center.
Memorial services will be held at a later date from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Church with private family services and interment in the Sheridan cemetery. Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo is in charge.

Ruth ‘Betty’ Edwards
JORDAN – Ruth E. “Betty” Edwards, 76, of Jordan, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in the VFW Hall with burial in the family lot of the Pioneer cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.

Sharon D. Lee
Sharon D. Lee, 69, of Billings, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in her home, surrounded by her family. The daughter of Caroline and Theodore Ja-cobson, she was born in Valley City, N.D., on June 14, 1931.
She graduated from Havre High School in 1949. On Oct. 29, 1955, she married Richard E. Lee in Billings. Sharon was a long standing member of P.E.O. and was actively involved in the community as a docent at the Moss Mansion museum and a supporter of the Yellowstone Art Center. She enjoyed bridge, golf, tennis, skiing and travel.
Survivors include her husband Richard and her four children, Charmaine, Rich, Sonja and Tamara; her sons-in-law Neil Librock and Harry Dohalick; two grandsons, Jordan and Jared; and her daughter-in-law Chris and grandsons, Joshua, Dylan and Tanner.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at the First Congregational Church. Memorials may be directed to the Moss Mansion Museum, the Peter Yegen Jr. Museum, or the Yellowstone Art Center. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist has charge of arrangements.

Rophilia McDonough
CAMARILLO, Calif. – Rophilia McDonough, 92, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000. Mrs. McDonough was born March 6, 1908, in Plaza, N.D., a daughter of a homesteader. She attended high school at Plaza where she graduated in 1925 and later attended State Teachers College in Valley City, N.D., for two years.
Mrs. McDonough also graduated from Eastern Montana College of Education in Billings. Overall, she taught fourth and fifth graders for 28 years with 19 of those years in Billings
Mrs. McDonough was preceded in death by her husband Frank McDonough in 1990.
She is survived by a son, Bob McDonough, and two granddaughters, Tara and Linda McDonough.
Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Camarillo. Private burial will be in Rockvale cemetery in Rockvale, Mont. Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary in Camarillo is in charge.
