Charlotte Anderson
SIDNEY – Charlotte A. Anderson, 59, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, from injuries resulting from a bicycle-vehicle accident.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Pella Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Richland Memorial Park cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

Julie Bartholomew
HARDIN – Julie Bartholomew, 47, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, in the Holy Rosary Hospital following an extended illness.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will follow at a later date. Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel of Miles City is in charge.

Leo A. Pinnick, Sr.
Leo A. Pinnick, Sr., 82, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at the Valley Health Care Center.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist is in charge.

Edward Skupa
Edward Skupa, 90, died Friday Sept. 29, 2000, at Western Manor in Billings. He was born on June 2, 1910, in Red Lodge the son of Wenzel and Hedvika Bower Skupa.
He spent his early years on the family farm on Clear Creek and later lived south of Red Lodge in a log home that he built. He and his wife, Peggy, later moved to Billings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters, and his wife. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Roberts cemetery. Smith Funeral Chapel of Billings is in charge of arrangements.

Frank Joseph Stief
Frank Joseph Stief of Billings, the last surviving child of Joseph and Magdalena Stief, passed away Sept. 28, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital. He was 89 years old. Born in Carbon County on Aug. 16, 1911, he was raised on a farm near Edgar. He married Mary Pauline Schreiber of Billings, on Aug. 13, 1932, in Columbus.
After working briefly in Billings, he and Mary farmed the Joseph Stief place in Edgar, from 1932 to 1945 and then settled in Boyd, where he resided until 1999.
He and his wife were involved in numerous community activities. One of his favorite pastimes was playing the accordion in musical groups, entertaining on KOHL radio and other social events throughout the Edgar/Boyd area. Retiring from farming in 1972, he worked for Red Lodge Pea Company and Schlitz Brewing Company as a field foreman.
Recently, Frank returned to Billings where he resided until his death. He is now with his beloved wife, Mary, of 63 years who passed away in October 1995.
Prank is survived by his son, Donald (Betty) of Billings; daughter, Marilyn (Chuck) Bednar of Oak Park, Ill.; grandsons, Robert and Craig Stief of Billings; granddaughters, Dawn Marie Shrestha of Seattle, Coral Harvey and Elizabeth Wagner of Billings, and Melissa Bracken of Brookfield, Ill. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jerry Stief of Sioux Falls, S.D. Frank also has seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
After private interment at the Rockvale cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 3, a memorial service will be held for family and friends at the Joliet Christian Church at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Christian Church or the Boyd School are suggested.

Pat J. Melia
Pat J. Melia, 70, of Billings, formerly of Bailey, Colo., went to join his Savior Tuesday evening, Sept. 26, 2000, after a short fight with cancer.
A short memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Pyramid Baptist Church, 1926 Sagebrush Road (on the way to Shepherd), on Tues-day, Oct. 3, 2000.
Pat was born to Dominik T. and Lola (Molatt) Melia on Jan. 14, 1930, in Knoxville, Iowa. He married his loving wife, of 49 years, Marlene, on Sept. 30, 1951, in Kansas City, Mo.
Pat worked as a commercial floor covering estimator and salesman most of his life for William Volker and Co., before moving to Billings in 1975. He then worked as the same for Bahm’s Floorcovering and Rich’s Modern Flooring until moving to Colorado in 1986. He worked for Home Depot in Denver until his illness forced him to stop.
He was a devoted husband and father all of his life, never thinking of himself, but always of others. His devotion to his family was not only to his own children, but to his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. He was always quick to take in those with out a place to go and help see them through their problems till they were able to make it on their own again. His other passions, besides his family and his work, included the Lord Jesus, the Denver Broncos football games, and crossword puzzles. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew his loving spirit.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of Billings; two sons, Steven (Laurie) and Tedd (Billie) of Billings; and a daughter, Michele (Trey) Campbell of Bailey, Colo.; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his half-brother, Richard Romeo; and half-sister, Catherine Romeo.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Leroy at Montana Harvest and all the wonderful people from Big Sky Hospice, who gave Pat and his family their help, comfort, and support through his illness.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Pat’s name to Big Sky Hospice, 123 S. 27th St., Billings, MT 59101.

William Sleeth
BAKER – William Sleeth, 79, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at the Quality Care Center.
A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Stevenson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Stevenson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the family lot of the Bonnievale cemetery with military honors.

Grace E. Bollinger
Grace Elizabeth Bollinger, 80, died Thursday evening, Sept. 28, 2000 at Eagle Cliff Manor. Grace was born Nov. 26, 1919 in Billings to William and Daisy Henry. She attended Senior High.
She married Dean Reid in Billings. They made their home in Cody, Wyo. They had two children.
Grace had been member of the seventh-day Adventist Church for thirty years. She had devoted her life to serving others. For many years she worked for the Professional Nursing Pool. Even after she retired, she continued to do in-home health care. She married John Bollinger on Oct. 14, 1981 in Billings.
Grace is survived by her husband, John of Billings; her son, Richard Reid of Carlin, Nev.; a daughter, Jeanette Adams of Basin, Wyo.; stepson, Adam of Bridger; step daughters, Shirley Sarve of College Place, Wash., Sarah Swanson of Urbana, Miss. and Mary Bollinger of Billings. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Clarence ‘Bebe’ Gammon, Jr.
BUFFALO, Wyo. – Clarence J. “Bebe” Gammon, Jr., 69 of Buffalo, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at the Johnson County Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Samples officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2 and 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Willow Grove cemetery following the funeral service.

Marjorie G. Russell
BAKER – Marjorie G. Russell, 82 died on Friday, Sept. 29, 2000 at Portland, Ore.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Baker. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in the family lot of the St. John’s Catholic cemetery. Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Stockfish
BLACKFOOT, Idaho – Robert Stockfish, 36, formerly of Billings, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000.
He was born May 20, 1964 in Billings, where he spent most of his life and considered home. He graduated in 1983 from Billings Senior High and worked various jobs from plumbing to construction, doing what he was a natural at, working with his hands.
On Dec. 31, 1989, he married the love of his life, Angela in Red Lodge and spent the following years with her raising their five children.
Robert lived life to the fullest always. He loved spending time with his family and loved the outdoors, especially at his parents’ cabin. He cherished his wife and children and nothing made him happier than cooking special meals for them. From his nieces and nephews to his grandparents he enjoyed having his family around him. Robert always had a smile and hug for everyone.
Prior to his death, he had been employed by the city of Blackfoot, where he currently resided and had been working at various homes located throughout Jackson Hole, Wyo. at the time of his passing.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Stockfish of Blackfoot; two sons, Eric and Tony; three daughters, Brytne, Ginny and Stephanie; father, Jim Stockfish of Billings; mother, Connie Stockfish of Billings; sister, Kelly Potter of Billings; two brothers, James (Janet) Stockfish of Billings and Scott Stockfish of Laurel; grandparents, Merle and Phyllis Fivecoat of Billings and various nieces and nephews.
Robert, over the years we’ve cussed you, laughed at you and laughed with you. Most of all we’ve loved you. You will be in our hearts each and every day.
“Always thought we would have more times...We love you Robert. We love and miss you Daddy.”
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ruby Baker
LAUREL – Ruby Baker, 87, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Laurel.
Ruby was born June 27, 1913, at Foraker, Okla.
Survivors include six children, Ellen Hoffman, Ann Holman, John Baker, Arthur Baker, Laura Baker and Nancy DeVaney; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Cremation will follow.

Joan Barkland
BEACH, N.D. – Joan Barkland, 61, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Bismarck, N.D.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Beach with burial in the First Lutheran cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach is in charge.

John Craig
SHERIDAN, Wyo. – John Craig, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Private memorial services will be held later this week. Ferries Funeral Home is in charge.

Dale Dart
BUTTE – Dale Dart, 74, went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000. He was born in Walkerville on Jan. 29, 1926, to Fred and Ruth (Handlin) Dart. He attended school in Dillon and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1944. that year he was named an All State Player in basketball. Dale graduated from The State Normal College in Dillon in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He later completed a Masters of Education in school administration from the University of Montana.
He served his country as an Air Cadet in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he was a member of the National Guard and the Army Reserves where he attained the rank of captain.
Dale married the love of his life, Ethel Trask, on Dec. 31, 1945, in Butte. They had many wonderful years together.
Dale was a hard worker and had many work experiences. Foremost was his 30-plus years in education. He taught or was an administrator in Whitehall, Deer Lodge, Shelby and Butte. He ended his career at West Junior High in Butte. After retirement, he was an education specialist for the Montana Power Company in Butte for 11 years. Aside from his career in education, he always held a second job. He was a wedding photographer, miner, drummer and fought forest fires, to name a few.
Dale fulfilled his civic duty by serving as a commissioner for Butte-Silver Bow County Council of Commissioners.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel of Butte; daughter Susan Dart of Reno, Nev., and grandchildren Randy, Brenton, Jennifer and great-grandchild Sydney; son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Dart of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and grandsons, Neil and Wesley; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Bob Speare of Billings and granddaughter Betsy; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Melanie Dart of Laurel and grandsons Joshua and Jacob; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dan Wojtala. Puyallup, Wash., and grandchildren Amanda, Samantha and Joshua; and half-brother Thornley Dart of Buxton, Mont.
Dale was loved and adored by his children and grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was always up for a game or activity with any child. He had a special love for his cabin at Rock Creek Lake. He enjoyed tending his flower gardens.
Memorial services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Butte on Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at 11 a.m.
Dale answered a calling by working with the blind. Memorials may be sent to the Silver Bow Chapter of the Montana Association for the Blind, 2123 Silver Bow Blvd., Butte, MT 59701 or to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 15 N. Idaho, Butte, MT 59701.
