Ed O'Haire
Ed (Thomas Edgar) "Snooky" O'Haire, 89, a resident of Happy Valley near Whitefish since the early 1960s, went to join his wife, Lovile, on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 2004. He died from complications of the flu.

Ed met Lovile O'Haire in Sunburst. They were married in Kalispell on Sept. 28, 1940. Lovile passed away on Dec. 29, 2000.
He will be remembered for all the construction work and development he did in and around Shelby, the O'Haire Manor in Shelby and Great Falls, and the development of Happy Valley Homesites.
During World War II, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves and took extensive training to be an airplane flight instructor. After the war, he built over 500 dirt-filled reservoirs near Fort Benton. He and Lovile then purchased land in Shelby where he built a home on O'Haire Boulevard, a motel, and many apartments.
Ed was a very active civic member of Shelby, belonging to the Elks, building homes, businesses and helping develop Shelby. In 1959, Ed started construction of the O'Haire Manor in Great Falls, a 72-unit motel which housed the famous Sip 'n Dip Lounge, which was honored in 2003 for being number one of six lounges in the world with its tiki atmosphere, piano bar and a window in the swimming pool where everyone in the lounge could watch the swimmers.
In 1960, Ed and Lovile purchased 400 acres north of Kalispell and began the development of what is known as Happy Valley Homesites. He developed the acreage into 565 half-acre tracts. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman. This love and the love of flying took him to Alaska where he used a crossbow with a mounted camera to bring home a polar bear.
Ed is survived by one son, Jim O'Haire, of Happy Valley, Whitefish; one daughter, Judy O'Haire, of Kalispell; one grandson, Lanti Carlson and his wife, Angie, of West Chester, Pa., one granddaughter, Kassie Fincher of Kalispell; one great-grandson, Skylar; and one great-granddaughter, Caitlynn Judy; nieces, nephews, extended family members and many, many friends that will remember Ed as a wonderful, cheerful, very clever and ingenious fellow.

A service conducted by Doc Kauffman to celebrate Ed's life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, when his ashes will be joined with his beloved wife's. This summer their joined ashes will be buried with Ed's mother, father and brother in Sunburst. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Levi’s mom would always say that he could argue with a rock— and win.
Levi loved animals, and was very proud of his bunnies, Silk and Satin, and his show-dog, Spud. His horse, Seven was his most prized possession. Whether it was for work or play, Levi found a way to turn almost any horseback ride into a treasure hunt.
Levi enjoyed fishing with his dad, Tom, and had many stories to tell about his Oklahoma trips with his big brother, Jake. He really loved to go gopher hunting with his stepfather Erv.
