Katherine Isobel "Kay" Witcher Sanders
Katherine Isobel “Kay” Witcher Sanders, 59, of Miles City died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Holy Rosary Healthcare as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born Jan. 18, 1948, in Miles City, the daughter of John F. Witcher and Helen Donna Coughlin Witcher. Mrs. Sanders was the youngest of three children; her older brothers were James E. “Jim” and John F. Witcher III, “Jack.” Her brothers fought over Mrs. Sanders when she was a baby, each wanting to “take care” of their baby sister. She spent a year of her early childhood at home on the ranch on the Bobcat Creek with her father, helping him feed cattle and chop ice through the winter, before moving into Miles City with her mother and two brothers to start school.
Mrs. Sanders attended grade school in Miles City and graduated from Custer County High School in 1966.
She went to work for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company, then First Security Bank, and Farm Credit Services, where she worked for 24 years. In 1996, she joined the Stockman Bank as the agriculture administrative assistant, a job that she greatly enjoyed.
Mrs. Sanders deeply loved the people with whom she worked, and all of the people she served. She remained with Stockman Bank until her death.
She and Keith Holmlund were married in September 1968, and one child was born to this union, Jaimi Holmlund, in 1977. A wonderful mother, she was always supportive and always loving; Jaimi was greatly blessed to have a mother who was also her best friend. The couple were divorced in 1986, and she, her mother Donna, and daughter Jaimi moved to their new home in Kinsey near her brother Jack, where she thrived in her new home.
She met Joe Sanders in the fall of 1991, and they were married in August 1992. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders loved to work together on their home, care for their beloved dogs, and spoil their grandchildren. Their marriage was built on love, respect and the deepest care for one another.
Mrs. Sanders had friends beyond number, and was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and sister that anyone could wish for.
She was a spiritual person who had deep faith in Jesus Christ. So much of her beauty radiated from her faith and her desire to walk with the Lord. She tried every day to live her life as He wants us to, showing love to all people, rich or poor, and forgiving others as she had been forgiven. She was truly an example of how we all should live.
Her survivors include her husband, Joe Sanders of Miles City; her daughter Jaimi and her husband Shane Balsam of Powderville and their two children, Kolette and Heath; her brother, Jack Witcher and his wife Carrol of Kinsey; two step-sons, Ronald Sanders and his wife Bonnie of Palo Alto, Calif., and Bradley Sanders and his wife Michele of Bakersfield, Calif.; and four step-grandchildren.
Survivors also include five nieces and nephews: Jeff, Donna Lynn, Cindy, Kelly, and Chris, whom she loved as if they were her own children; and her dearest, oldest friend, Julie Jordan.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother, Jim.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Range Riders Museum, where Mrs. Sander’s parents were inducted in June of 2006, and a place that she truly cherished.

Services for Linda Lee Montgomery-Seitz, 44, former Kinsey resident, were held Tuesday, April 10, 2007, and her remains were interred at the Missoula City cemetery.
She died of natural causes Friday, April 6, 2007, at Community Medical Center in Missoula after a short illness.
Born Dec. 14, 1962, in Gulfport, Miss., she was the daughter of Ted and Fern Montgomery. She grew up in Lakeside, Laurel, Havre and Kinsey. She spent much of her time in 4-H and enjoyed sewing, cooking and her sheep projects. She played clarinet and sang in choir in both high school and college, traveling throughout Montana. She majored in history and political science and received her bachelor of arts degree from Rocky Mountain College in Billings in 1986.
In 1988, she moved to Missoula where she met her husband, Michael. They were married July 9, 1994, and had their child, Chester, on Jan. 8, 1997. She loved her family. They were most precious to her in her life.
She volunteered at the Missoula Public Library and then was employed with a Missoula food distributor before beginning employment with Missoula County at the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula. She enjoyed her time working there and also worked as a volunteer.
From 2000 until her untimely death she worked as a clerk at Justice Court. She was a very private person, but on occasion her wry sense of humor would come through at the most unexpected yet appropriate time. She was stubborn, smart and spoke her mind and let others speak their minds too.
Active in the Society for Creative Anachronism, she was engaged in making candles, knitting, sewing and other crafts. She also enjoyed music and solitude.
Her survivors include her loving husband, Michael, and son, Chester Seitz, both of Missoula; her parents, Ted and Fern Montgomery of the family home in Kinsey; sister, Rosalie (Rory) Richoux, niece Kelsey and nephew Kyle of LaPlace, La.; brother, Daniel Montgomery of Miles City; sister, Nancy (Rich) Whipple and nephews Jeremy and Collin of Norfolk, Va.; and half-brother, Richard Peterson, nephew Alex and niece Rebecca of Billings.

Paul Esmond Dobbin
Paul Esmond Dobbin, 99, of Miles City, died peacefully the night of Tuesday, March 20, 2007.
He was born Nov. 15, 1908, to Dee Albert and Editha Wade Manning Dobbin in Red Creek, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Edward (New York) and John (Laurel); his sisters, Wynona Wilkins (Portland, Ore.) and Doris Stott (Puyallup, Wash.); as well as Elizabeth (Buckingham) whom he married in 1959 and Gladys (Ebeling) whom he married in 1938.
Mr. Dobbin was a man of unpretentious passions, quietly pursuing excellence in work and play and family. If he boasted, it was in the accomplishments of others, but those who knew him admired his unfailing integrity, his gentle humor and his focus on what was good in each person and circumstance.
He enjoyed working as a telegraph operator and ticket agent for Northern Pacific Railroad at many Montana stations from Mandan to Livingston, including 15 years in Hysham, six years in Terry and eight years in Miles City. During his 37 years at NP “strangers were simply friends he hadn’t yet met” — a trait which also served him well in his second career as a retiree.
Where before he had energetically applied himself to being a first-rate employee, Mr. Dobbin became an avid gardener, fisherman and card player, enjoying travel, photography, dancing and teaching himself to play the organ along the way. Mr. Dobbin never missed an opportunity to be grateful — for a beautiful day, for health, for helpful friends, for loved ones — living a full and gracious life for all his 99 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Mabel; and his four children: Dennis (Judy) Dobbin (Buffalo, Wyo.), Doug (Cindy) Dobbin (Glenwood Springs, Colo.), Ron (Marge) Dobbin (Willcox, Ariz.) and Paula (Lincoln) Wilson (Tubac, Ariz.). Mr. Dobbin was a devout Catholic and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City.
A Rosary will be Sunday, April 15, 2007, at 6 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 16, 2007, at 11 a.m. for High Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Calvary cemetery.
