Alexis Grace Kellum
Our little angel arrived prematurely and left us too soon at the age of 9. Ali was born three months premature and endured many medical obstacles during her short life. Her little body grew tired on January 15th and like a butterfly quietly emerging from its cocoon when no one is aware, God released Ali from the body that no longer gave her freedom and instead, gave her wings.
Alexis Grace Kellum was born to Ken and Terra Kellum on June 14th 1999. She was welcomed by her big sister Hailey and in the last few months got to meet her little sister Sophie.
Ali’s extended family included many of the nursing staff and doctors from St. Vincent’s where she spent her first few months under the care of Dr. Dolan of Billings Clinic. After two years at home, Ali then moved to the Roundup hospital where she resided for the next six years. Those of you who loved Ali as your own, we thank you.
Her last journey took her to Salt Lake for ten months. Thank you to the South Davis Community Hospital for caring for Alexis while we found her a new home back in Montana. With the help of special people, we were able to find her a new home this October at Billings Health and Rehab. They too learned quickly how special she was, and soon became the baby of their family. Even some of the residents were getting attached and calling her their own. We are so thankful to Dr. Stevens and the staff at the Children’s Clinic along with Kerri Ashland and the staff at Billings Health and Rehab for allowing her to come home before God called her to be with Him.
To Our Ali — Thank you for being strong enough to wait until we were able to find you a new home. We are so grateful for the time we had with you.
Alexis is survived by her parents Ken and Terra Kellum along with her two sisters Hailey and Sophie of Roundup. Her grandparents include Terry and Carrie Jorgenson of Melstone, Ken and Donna Kellum and Ray and Gerilyn Muggli all of Miles City. Left behind also is her great-great-grandma Basta of Glendive, her great-grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins she adored. We will not forget our family and friends who were there for us. Thank You.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009, at Faith Evangelical Church, located at 3145 Sweetwater Drive in Billings. Interment will follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park in Billings. Visitation Begins 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 21. Smith Downtown Chapel in Billings is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be sent to Billings Health and Rehabilitation in Alexis’ name.

Marguerite M. Young "Margie"
Marguerite M. Young “Margie, ” 82, of Forsyth, formerly of Miles City, received her Blessing by winning her 12-year-battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009.
She was born the daughter of Igneous and Eugenia Huyghe in Gistel, Belgium, on Feb. 12, 1926. She met her future husband, Harold, in Belgium as World War II was ending, but she had to wait until she was 21 before she was allowed to come to the United States.
She arrived in August of 1947, and they were married in Baltimore Md., on Aug. 4.
They settled in Miles City. On July 18, 1948, a son, Robert, was born. Their daughter, Caprice, was born on May 4, 1950.
Mrs. Young worked very hard to learn English, and to become a Naturalized Citizen. She could speak five languages. Mrs. Young loved to work crossword puzzles and was very good at them. As a child in Belgium, she attended Catholic school, and was taught how to knit, crochet, mend and do household chores.
After her children were in school, she worked doing the things she was taught in school. She was a seamstress, cleaned houses and did a lot of babysitting. She was still cleaning houses and babysitting until we realized that Alzheimer’s was taking her memory and at age 72 she retired. She loved to work, and would do anything to help anyone who asked.
Mrs. Young worked and saved her money so she could take her children to Belgium to visit her family, making a trip home about every six years, and then continued the tradition by taking her grandson to Belgium twice.
She was an American Association of Retired Persons volunteer, knitting hats for the newborns. She helped serve meals at the school lunch program and helped her husband deliver Meals on Wheels. For fun she played Whist with her card club, and went out to eat with her French-speaking friends. She and her husband enjoyed traveling around the states visiting family and friends. She enjoyed growing flowers in her yard and bird watching.
When Mr. Young could no longer take care of himself and his wife, they moved to Forsyth to live near their daughter. After almost three years, they had to return to Miles City to Friendship Villa. Mr. Young died in 2000. After a fall at Friendship Villa resulting in a broken hip and wrist, Caprice moved her mother to Forsyth to be closer to her. Mrs. Young remained at RHCC Nursing Home until her death on Jan. 16.
Her survivors include her son Bob, wife Song of Elmhurst, N.Y.; daughter Caprice Gregory, husband Butch of Forsyth; grandson Guy R. Gregory, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and a sister Rachel and her husband Antoine Perez of Brussels, Belgium.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. No service is planned as per Mrs. Young’s request. Cremation has taken place, and interment and graveside service will be at a later date in Forsyth.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the RHCC Nursing Home “Eden Path” account, a project that will bring pets, birds, a dog and other animals into the nursing home for the residents to enjoy or to the charity of one’s choice.
