Christopher Devin Dietz knew only Sidney as his home. On Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, his life light was extinguished in a tragic car accident, causing extensive injury.

Chris was born on Nov. 1, 1986, at the Sidney hospital to parents Dennis and Alice (Dahl) Dietz. He attended grade school at Central Elementary, Sidney Middle School and his first two years of high school in Sidney. He was an intelligent child and gifted individual. In his younger years he enjoyed Cub Scouts, baseball, football and wrestling. As a teenager he excelled at being a son, grandson, cousin and friend.

Chris was a member of the Pella Lutheran Church. He had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed music, video games, playing cards and games with his family. Chris loved his dog, Titus, liked to fish, camp, swim, boat and jet ski. He enjoyed being busy and having activity surrounding him.

Chris had dreams, and the potential to be or do anything. He dreamed of big cities, flying, being in a band. He wanted to be a Formula 44 racer, build performance parts, be a chef, open a restaurant, be an FBI agent and a forensic specialist. His chances here are now gone. He has passed on to bring his joy and enthusiasm to the hallways and highways of heaven.

Chris was taken from us tragically, unexpectedly and much too soon. We will grieve the loss of our loved one, remember and love him always.

He is survived by: his parents, Dennis Dietz and fiancee Stephanie Dennis and Alice and husband, Steve Janes; his brother Terris Dietz and stepbrother Justin Janes, all of Sidney; maternal grandparents, Leon and Ivabelle Dahl, Scranton, N.D.; grandparents, Bob and Martha Janes, Helena; godparent, Donna Mutschelknaus, New Leipzig, N.D.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins will miss him always.

He was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Emma Dietz, New Leipzig, N.D.
