HAROLD STIPE
PETERSBURG, Alaska - Harold "Jim" Stipe Jr., 60, died here on April 29, 2005.He was born on Jan. 15, 2005, in Missoula, the son of Harold and Patricia Stipe. As a young child he lived at the family ranch in Charlo. He was born a cowboy and never turned away from that lifestyle. Jim lived his later years in Alaska along with his children, son Ed Stipe and grandchildren Amanda, Jacob, Josephine and Katrina of Petersburg and daughters Trish and Christy Stipe of Fairbanks, Alaska. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children in Alaska; sisters Mary Wall and her family (Charlo), Peg Wagner and her family (Hungry Horse); and many friends. Services were held in Petersburg on May 4. No services are planned for Montana.

ANNIE M. MARSH
HOT SPRINGS -- Annie M. Marsh, 93, of Hot Springs, died on May 9, 2002, at the Evergreen Care Center. She was born Oct. 27, 1908, in Dayton, WY, to William J. and Jennie (Mock) Croghan. Annie grew up in Camas Prairie and rode horseback to school there. She and Emil M. Marsh were married and had a daughter, Dixie. They were divorced, and years later were free to remarry in 1982, and lived happily until Emil's death in 1999. Annie worked several years as a nurse's aide in Missoula and a psychiatric aide in Arizona. She is survived by daughter, Dixie (Bud) Missman (Lakeside); four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Jeanne Crismore and Lorraine Wiley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were May 13 in Missoula. A memorial service was held on May 16 in Hot Springs.

MARY M. MEEKS
POLSON -- Mary M. Meeks, 91, died from natural causes on March 31, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital here. Services and burial were April 10 in Big Piney, WY.

JENNIE MILLER
SAVOY, TX -- Jennie Belle Hall Miller died on Feb. 17, 2002, at Mullican Care Center here. Jennie was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Missoula, to Louise Agnes Moss and Lyman C. Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents; half-sister, Florence Herzog; and her husband, Ben Sherman Miller. Jennie is survived by her son, Ben Lyman Miller, and two grandchildren, Steven and Amanda. Cremation has taken place.

RAY R. MILLER
RONAN -- Ray Robert "Pat" Miller, 78, died on Jan. 20, 2002, at his home here. He was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Baker to Harry and Lela (Brooks) Miller. He graduated from Ronan High School in 1941. On Jan. 5, 1944, he married Clara Bick in Polson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Kohler. Pat is survived by his wife of 58 years, Clara; four sons and their wives, Ray and Nancy (Ronan) and Gale (Ronan), Brad and Cheri (Florence) and Daniel and Candace (Pablo); five daughters and their husbands, Susan and Lee Walsh (Butte), Jann and Rory Schauss (Ronan), Jane and Aaron Arneson and Alice and Tom Krantz (all of Missoula), and Mary Anne Miller (Lopez Island, WA); three brothers, Harry (Ronan); Albert (Yelm, WA); and Paul (Libby); sister Nona Fuhrmann (Ronan); 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were Jan 24 in Pablo. Burial with military honors followed at Ronan Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to a charity of the donor's choice.

MALCOLM MITCHELL
RONAN -- Malcolm "Chuck" Mitchell, 63, Polson, died on March 26, 2002, from natural causes at St. Luke Extended Care here. He was born July 16, 1938, in Havre, MT, to Malcolm G. and Caroline (Whitford) Mitchell, and was raised on the Rocky Boy Reservation. Chuck married Anna Pierre in Polson 38 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dave and Paul Mitchell; three sisters, Virginia LaMere, Sophie Meyers, and Eunice Sanchez. He is survived by his wife in Polson; 12 children: William, Charley, Brian, Patsy, Malcolm David, Sheila, Annie, Miles, Georgi, Lisa, and Tommie Sue; three sisters, Martha Lewis, Lydia Sutherland and Caroline Boushie; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Services were held on March 28 in Polson. Cremation followed.

SHEILA K. MITCHELL
ARLEE -- Sheila K. (Stokes) Mitchell, 37, died on Jan. 11, 2002, here. Born in Missoula on July 23, 1964, Sheila was raised and educated in western Montana. Sheila married Don Mitchell in Coeur dą Alene, Idaho, in 2000. They made their home in Arlee. She leaves behind her husband (Arlee); children Raeleen, Robert and Ryan; stepchildren Tasheena, Isadore, Sophie and Traylon; parents Beverly Stokes of Pablo and Larry Stokes of Sekiu, Wash.; brothers and sisters David Stokes and Calista Stokes of Idaho, Donald Stokes of Oregon and Stacey Stokes and Corey Stokes of Washington; and numerous extended family members. Wake services began on Jan. 14 in Arlee. Mass was celebrated on Jan. 16 in Arlee. Interment followed.

EDNA MOHLER
POLSON -- Edna Marie "Eddie" Mohler, 77 died on Jan. 20, 2002, at her home of cancer. She was born on April 7, 1924, in Odessa, NE, to Peter and Elsie Ludden. On Oct. 14, 1934, Edna married Melvin Mohler in Wann, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived her husband, Mel (Polson); son Michael Mohler (Puyallup, WA); daughter Merriam Burke (Kalispell); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Ludden (Lincoln, NE), and Robert Ludden (Colorado Springs, CO); sister Ruth Webb (Kearney, NE); and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Lake County Health and Hospice, 771 Main S.W., Ronan, MT 59864.

PAULINE C. MORIGEAU
MISSOULA -- Pauline C. Morigeau, 85, Polson, died on March 5, 2002, at St. Patrick Hospital here from natural causes.

She was born on Feb. 12, 1917 in Culdesac, Idaho, to Laurette and Annie Tellier.

She grew up and attended schools in Culdesac and Polson.

She married Orville Morigeau on April 26, 1937, in Missoula.

They lived in several places throughout the U.S. and spent 40 years in the Seattle area. They retired to Polson 1977.

Pauline was an artist and a collector. She was most accomplished at oil painting. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Donald, and a sister, Amelia Jones

She is survived by her husband, Orville Morigeau (Polson); her son, Gary E. Morigeau (Polson); seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held on March 9 in Polson. Cremation has taken place.

DEAN MUNTER
POLSON -- Dean Munter, 75, died on Jan. 23, 2002, of natural causes at the Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center here. He was born March 21, 1926, to Lloyd and Odile (Bousquet) Munter in Polson. He was a member of the Salish-Kootenai Tribes. Survivors include his longtime partner, Delphine Olson (Polson); children Steven Munter and Denise Turrell (both of Bellevue, WA), and Dottie Glander (Tucson, AZ); brothers Weldon and Chuck; sister Betty Aerick; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services with military honors were conducted on Jan. 26 in Polson.

RICHARD J. NICHOLS
MISSOULA -- Richard J. Nichols, 56, died of leukemia on Dec. 17, 2001, at St. Patrick Hospital here.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1945, in Kalispell, to Cecil Nichols and Agatha Philip.

Richard attended schools in Elmo and Polson and in Flandreau, SD. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He was wounded during the war. After his discharge from the military, he returned to Elmo.

He worked as a sawyer in the woods and cut post and poles and Christmas trees.

Richard attended the Salish Kootenai College for three years. He also taught a sawyer class there, and taught the Kootenai language for the Polson school district. He worked for the Kootenai Culture Program in Elmo and was currently serving as the Executive Director for the Ktunaxa Community Development Corporation.

Richard enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He especially liked to spend time in the woods. He also enjoyed playing pool.

He was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Justin; two adopted brothers, Leo and Joe Eneas; and his adopted father, Modeste Eneas.

He is survived by his wife, Clarissa "Issa" Nichols (Elmo); six children, Richard, Rachel, Justin, Raymond and Rikki Nichols (all of Elmo), and Wendell Red Cloud (Pablo); eight grandchildren; his adopted mother, who helped raise him, Mary Eneas (Elmo); and adopted siblings Bernard Eneas (Spokane), John Eneas (Elmo), Christine Lacey (Salem, OR), and Bernice Hewankorn (Elmo).

Funeral Mass was held on Dec. 20 in Elmo. Burial followed at the Dayton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
