Diana Lee Knutzen
Diana Lee Knutzen of Basin, 42, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital on October 7, 2002. She was born August 24, 1960, in Anchorage to Emil N. and Doris M. Harrold.

Kathryn Ione Hall
Kathryn Ione Hall, 46, passed on to her new home on Thursday, October 10, 2002.

Margaret Smith
Margaret Smith, 84 years young, died peacefully at her home in Helena on Tuesday evening, October 8, 2002. Born in 1918 in Hackney, United Kingdom, she had lived in Helena since 1986 after living in the U.K., Michigan, and California.

Chester W. Featherly
Chester W. “Chet” Featherly of Helena, 87, a longtime welding foreman at Caird’s Engineering Works, passed away early Thursday morning at St. Peter’s Hospital following a brief illness.

Doris A. Wanamaker
Former State Highway Department bookkeeper Doris A. Wanamaker of Helena, 84, died October 4 at St. Peter’s Hospital following an extended illness. She was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Helena to Jacob and Mary (DeBorde) Wanamaker. She attended local schools.

Wayne M. Dahlstrom
Wayne M. Dahlstrom of Helena, 73, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 29, 2002. He was born May 18, 1929, in Lisbon, N.D. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korea conflict and was a POW for 13 months.

Isabelle Anderson
Isabelle Anderson was her rightful name, but to her family and friends, she was known simply as “Auntie Bay.” Born on the family homestead in Clancy on November 27, 1908, Isabelle was the seventh child of Albert and Ora Hersey. She was raised in a three-room house on Clancy Creek Road, where the family farmed for many years. Clancy was her home and her passion, and she proudly maintained a residence there for most of her life.

Iva Modelle Tabb Morgan
Modelle Morgan passed on to her heavenly home on Friday, September 20, 2002, at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She had cancer surgery in May 2000 and bypass surgery in April 2001, from which she never recovered.

Grant W. Moomaw
Grant W. Moomaw, owner and operator of the Marysville House, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2002. He was 46.

Kathleen M. Fleury
Kathleen Merle Fleury, 58, died September 20 at her home in Helena after a long illness. She was born in Helena on August 10, 1944, the third of Ben and Maxine Fleury’s 12 children. She attended Helena schools and took special pride in being crowned Vigilante Princess at Helena High in 1960.

Carol Ruth Hansen
Carol Ruth Hansen, 60, of Helena, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 12, of natural causes. She was born on November 19, 1941, in Williston, N.D., to Earl and Frances Paine.

Rachel Mae Anderson Stevens
Rachel Mae Anderson Stevens, 68, passed away September 19 in Helena of a heart attack. She was born July 15, 1934, on a farm near Kalispell, the daughter of William and Rozella Anderson. Rachel’s grandparents homesteaded at the north end of the Flathead Valley, and many cousins still live there. She attended school near Lake Blaine and in Kalispell.

Louise Elaine Sloulin
Louise Elaine Sloulin, 74, of Helena, passed away quietly on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, after a short illness.

William A. DeSonia Sr.
Helena resident William Anthony DeSonia Sr., 68, unexpectedly fell into the Lord’s hands on Friday, September 13, 2002. “Billy D.” was brought into this world on September 19, 1933, to William and Cora DeSonia.

Ken Davis
Ken Davis of Helena passed away on September 8, 2002, at St. Peters Hospital following a brief illness. Ken will be most remembered for his gentle, quiet manner, his quick wit, and his ready smile. He will be dearly missed.

Gary Satterfield of Helena, 48, died Saturday, August 31, at Benefis East in Great Falls from complications due to diabetes.

Joyce V. Schnablegger
Joyce V. Schnablegger of Helena died on August 25, 2002, after a bout with cancer. She was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Ness City, Kansas, to Fred and Myrtle Delaney.

Arvid S. Lundin
Arvid S. Lundin went to be with our Lord on Nov. 3, 2004, at Rocky Mountain Care Center. He was born Aug. 5, 1916, to Jonas Arvid and Kristina Erika Lundin in Spooner, Minn. He was the second youngest of four children and the first born in the United States after the family emigrated from Sweden.

Alvin W. Bunkowske
Alvin Walter Bunkowske went to his heavenly home on Oct. 24, 2004, after a long struggle with heart disease and leukemia.

Joseph Edward Hughes
The tapestry of life was completed on Nov. 2, 2004, for Joseph Hughes when he lost his courageous battle against cancer.

Lillian Slayman
Lillian Slayman left us to be with our Lord on Oct. 30, 2004. She was 83.

Jeanette Kuehl Warnke, 86, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. She was born Jan. 2, 1918, in Ramsey County, Minn., to William and Josephine Kuehl.

Loretta M. Kunc Bible, who was born on July 16, 1912, died at her home in Helena on Oct. 30, 2004.

Frank Ursich
Helena has lost one of our best all-around athletes. Frank Ursich, husband, father, grandfather and friend, recently passed away of a heart attack at the age of 64.

Mary Shamley
On Oct. 19, 2004, Mary Shamley was received in Heaven by our Lord and Savior, the Christ Jesus. Mary fought the good fight with pancreatic cancer for way longer than anyone expected. She finally decided it was time to go home and be with the Lord.
