On Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, Billy K. Muldowney died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Raymond C. Padgett
Raymond C. Padgett (Ray), beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 26, 2004, surrounded by his family at home.

Mary M.H. Larison
Mary Miller Humphreys Larison, 712 Monroe, a good citizen of her community, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004.

Arlie G. Rognstad
Arlie G. Rognstad of Helena, 79, passed away at Fort Harrison Veterans Hospital on Sept. 7, 2004, following a short illness. He was surrounded by family and friends.

Ross I. Bennett
Ross Issac Bennett of Helena, 92, died Aug. 28, 2004, at the VA Medical Center at Fort Harrison following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 8, 1911, in Linn Co., Kan., to the late Johnnie W. and Lytle M. (Cook) Bennett.

Larry L. DeFrance
Larry Lee DeFrance of Helena, 61, has passed away at his home following an extended battle with cancer. He was born June 13, 1943, in Billings to L.A. “Shorty” and Loretta DeFrance of Laurel. He moved to Spokane in 1948 when his Dad re-enlisted in the Air Force. Larry attended grade school in Laurel and Spokane through 5th grade. In 1954, they moved to Seattle.

Thomas P. Foy
Tom Foy passed away due to natural causes on Monday, August 2, while enjoying his morning walk. He was born in Butte on December 17, 1953, to Thomas and Elizabeth Foy.

Jay F. McLeod
Jay Francis McLeod of Helena, 87, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, of natural causes at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings.

Kevin E. DeHart
Kevin Eugene DeHart went home to be with his Lord on June 27, 2004, after fighting a courageous battle with Severe Aplastic Anemia.

Albert C. Rickard
Albert Clifford Rickard went home to be with his Lord on June 25, 2004. Although he fought a courageous battle with cancer, he accepted his illness and ultimately his death with amazing grace and dignity, always thinking of others and keeping his sense of humor. He made everyone around him feel comfortable with his illness. He commented near the end that this last year had been the "best" and the "worst" year of his life; the worst because of the cancer that would end his life and the best because he had family and friends around who loved him.

Lloyd F. Meyer
Lloyd F. Meyer, 82, of Helena passed away on June 20, 2004, at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was born in New Salem, N.D., on September 20, 1921, to Fredrick D. and Blanche L. (Ingalls) Meyer. He moved with his family to Montana in 1925 and was raised on a homestead in the Glasgow area. He graduated from high school in 1939 and joined the Army in 1941. He spent 30 years in the Air Force. He was a pilot and served most of his career in the Strategic Air Command.

Isaac G. Lowry
Isaac G. Lowry, 25, of Helena died as a result of an accident Tuesday, June 22, 2004, near Silver City. He was born on Oct. 5, 1978, in Helena to Glenn E. and Elizabeth J. (Lattin) Lowry. He attended local schools and graduated from Capital High School in 1997.

Emily Stewart Stephens
A rebellious spirit who did not suffer fools well, Emily S. Stephens died June 21, 2004, in Santa Barbara, Calif. She was born in Virginia City on July 22, 1907, the oldest of three daughters of Samuel Vernon and Stella Baker Stewart.

Edna Rose Schatz
Edna Rose Schatz, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 83, died peacefully on June 1, 2004, surrounded by her loving family at her Waterford home. Her extended Waterford family was by her side too. They all have been a big part of her life since 2000.

Myrlin G. Donaldson
In his youthful days, 5:30 a.m. would have signaled the start of a long day of ranch chores. On Sunday morning, May 23, 2004, Myrlin G. Donaldson once again mounted his saddle and, as the early morning dew from the tall grass wet his stirrups, he rode into God's heavenly mountain meadow.

Bobby Harold Bartmess
Surrounded by his family, Bobby Harold Bartmess went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 14, 2004. He will be missed by all who loved him and was respected by all who knew him.

Eugene Alexander Dunlop
Gene Dunlop died April 27, 2004, at the Masonic Home at the age of 100. He was born to Nettie K. and Colin J. Dunlop in Eden, Mont., on March 31, 1904. He married Helen Lucille Robinson of Scobey in 1936. They had one son, William Eugene Dunlop, who preceded them in death.

Harold G. Stearns
Veteran newsman and historian Hal Stearns traveled over the Montana Divide for the last time in company of family on April 22, 2004, at age 91, his life’s script a rich reflection of the state he loved and understood.

M. Clare Gibson
M. Clare Gibson of Helena, 91, passed away on April 18, 2004, at Son Heaven Assisted Living Residences after a lengthy illness.

Rhea Kay Duthie
Rhea Kay Duthie, 65, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 3, 2004, following a battle with cancer.

Ailene Bond Campbell
Ailene Campbell, 95, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on March 21, 2004. She was born Ailene L. Saunders on Sept. 3, 1908, in Dickinson, N.D., to Thomas and Nina Saunders. She attended Dickinson State Teachers College and graduated with a B.A. in teaching.

Donald Ingels
A founding member of both Helena’s Grandstreet Theatre and the Ghost Art Gallery, Donald Charles Ingels, 71, died March 18 at Holy Rosary Hospice in Miles City of multiple myeloma.

Kathlyn Helfert
Kathlyn (Billie) Helfert of East Helena passed on to be with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2004. She was born in Dillon, Mont., December 31, 1918, to Hayes T. and J. Anson Baxter. She graduated from Beaverhead County High School, attended St. Mary's College, University of New Mexico, and graduated from Western Montana College.
