Rodney Peterson
Former Libby area resident Rodney Peterson, 83, died July 29, 2001, at his home in Missoula.
He was born on March 22, 1918, at Kalispell and grew up on the family ranch in Pleasant Valley.
The family moved to Kalispell and then to Charlo, continuing to farm and ranch.
Rod quit high school after his sophomore year to drive a cattle herd to buyers in the Big Hole. He then traveled about, picking up jobs where he could. Traveling by freight train, he worked on ranches and farms around Chester and the Sweet Grass Hills.
The start of World War II found him heading to California to work at North American Aviation in Los Angeles.
In California he met Loaine Sauve and they were married on July 17, 1943.
Returning to Montana after the war, Rod drove freight truck and sawed logs and worked for the ACM Company and Champion International, retiring in 1982.
He was preceded in death by Loaine, his wife of 57 years, on Aug. 16, 2000, and by his parents and brothers Donald and Willard.
He is survived by his son Joe Peterson and his wife Cathy, Butte; granddaughters Jessica, Amanda and Katy, all of Butte; sister Betty Rose, Kalispell; brother-in-law Bill Sauve and sister-in-law Ella Nelson, Virginia, Minn.; sister-in-law Dorothy Peterson, Libby; several nieces and, nephews and a lifetime accumulation of friends.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, Aug., 4, at 2 p.m. at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bonner.
There will be a reception following at the church.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory.

Evelyn Cohenour
Former Libby resident Evelyn Cohenour, 82, died July 25, 2001, at Brendan House in Kalispell.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1918, at Dover, Idaho, to Charles and Valentine Dale.
Evelyn was raised and educated at Libby, graduating from Libby High School with the Class of 1936.
She married George Bowen and they had two children and were later divorced.
Evelyn married John Cohenour on Sept. 15, 1942, in Wallace, Idaho. They lived in Libby until moving to the Flathead Valley in 1958.
Evelyn enjoyed her beautiful flowers, playing the organ, traveling, cooking and spending time with grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, John Cohenour; sons Jerry Bowen, Alaska, and John Cohenour Jr., Kalispell; Alan Cohenour, Kalispell; daughter Connie, Alaska; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Chrysta Bourne officiating.
Burial followed at the C.E. Conrad Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the care of the Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.

Marion Fisher
Marion W. Fisher, 88, longtime Troy sawmill operator, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the Libby Care Center.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1913, at Scobey, to Clarence and Alvina Omen Fisher, and was raised and educated at Scobey.
Marion worked in the sawmill business in the northwest for most of his life. He owned and operated sawmills in the Flathead area, at Ashley Lake, Kila and Lake Mary Ronan, in the Yaak and in Idaho before moving to Troy where he also operated a mechanical repair business.
He married Marjorie Newman on Oct. 23, 1948, at Polson.
An avid outdoorsman, Marion enjoyed hunting and fishing, particularly fishing in Alaska and being with his dog Buster, his constant companion.
He was preceded in death by brothers Elmer and Ray and sister Edith.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie, Troy; son David Fisher, Troy, and step-son Bill Fisher, Lancaster, Calif.; brothers Ralph, Lapwai, Idaho; Ted and Ben, both of Troy, and Ardeen, Havre; sisters Mary McKiney and Betty Ross, both of Great Falls, and Violet Thompson, Pineville, Mo.; grandchildren James, Angela and Holly, and great-grandchildren Chase and Kenyen.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Troy Church of God with the Rev. Gene Bushnell officiating.
Interment services will follow at Milnor Lake Cemetery under the direction of Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

David Wullger
David M. Wullger, 77, of Libby, died on Sept. 26, 2001, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.
He was born on July 14, 1924, at Astoria, Ore., to Mike and Esther Johnson Wullger.
Dave grew up in the Youngs River area near Astoria. He attended a country school at Battle Creek and later went to high school in Astoria, graduating with the Class of 1942.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and after receiving his honorable discharge owned and operated a number of businesses including a logging operation, a construction business and a paving business. He moved to Libby in 1991.
Dave met Myrna Langton at the Troy Senior Citizen Center and they were married on Nov. 26, 1994, in Thompson Falls.
Dave enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lucy.
Survivors include his wife Myrna Wullger, Libby; sons David Wullger and his wife Roma, Kent, Wash.; Mike Wullger and his wife Dani, Chinook, Wash., and Darin Wullger and his wife Larrene, Astoria; sisters Caroline Wolfgram and Mary Oja and Mary’s husband Robert, Astoria; step-daughters Roxanne Countryman and her husband Richard, Brush Prairie, Wash., and Jeannette Hull and her husband Howard, Baker, Ore.; step-sons Rick Langton and his wife Linda, Baker, and Timothy Langton and his wife Rachel in Washington; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date in Astoria.
Local arrangements are under direction of Nelson & Vial Funral Home.

Katherine Glazebrook
Katherine Ward Glazebrook, 34, formerly of Libby, died Nov. 13, 2001, at Klamath Falls, Ore.
She was born on July 17, 1967, at Libby, to Hubert and Blanche Ward.
Raised and educated at Libby, Katherine graduated from Libby High School with the Class of 1985.
She attended Western Montana College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1987.
Katherine was currently serving at the rank of sergeant and had received numerous awards including Non Commissioned Officer of the Year for the 325th Fighter Wing at Tyndall Air Force Base.
She married Glenn Glazebrook on Feb. 18, 1989, in New Hampshire.
Katherine found great joy in her children and spending time with her family. An avid reader, she also enjoyed crafts, including counted cross stitch, cake decorating and soap making.
Survivors include her parents, Hubert and Blanche Ward of Libby; her husband Glenn and children Ian and Alisha, all of Keno, Ore.; sisters Barbara Ward, Milwaukee, Wis., and Evelyn Ward Hilt, Dutton, and brother Bob Ward of West Linn, Ore.
Graveside services under the direction of Nelson & Vial Funeral Home will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the City of Libby Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Air Force.

Dorthe Noble
Dorthe Mae Noble, 76, of Libby, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1925, in Harlem, Mont., to Bert and Helen Marcinkowski Doubek.
Dorthe attended a country school near Fairview through the seventh grade and after the family moved to Turner she went to eighth grade there.
For the next two years, Dorthe attended a polytechnic school in Portland, Ore., then worked for the telephone company in Sacramento, Calif., and later as a nanny in Los Angeles.
She returned to Montana to work in an uncle’s bakery and restaurant business.
Dorthe moved to Libby in 1949 where she met Harvey (Mike) Noble. They were married on April 21, 1951, at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and raised their family in Libby.
Dorthe was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Velven, Karel, Paul and Clayton, sister Betty Doubek and grandson Alex Noble.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Noble and his wife Patti; David Noble and his wife Becky, and Chris Noble and his wife Teri, all of Libby; five daughters, Susan Berry and her husband Lou, Libby; Mary Geer and her husband Pat, Libby; Benita Thom, Whitefish; Joan Drake and her husband Ken, Libby, and Ellen Mills and her husband Eric, Libby; brothers Donald Doubek and his wife Doris, Libby; Ronald Doubek, Libby; Leon Doubek, Watsonville, Calif.; sisters Genevieve Mejie and her husband Clayton, Libby, and Anne Pescatore, Libby; mother-in-law Myrtle Clark, Libby; 20 grandchildren, Christine, Mycale, Jami, Kelly, Tracy, Kim, Stacy, Crystal, Tricia, Devyn, Kristina, Adam, Mark, Ben, Brian, Eric, Steven, Brandin, Mark Allan and Walker; and four great-grandchildren, Emily, Jason, Brady and Braydan.
Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home, followed by Rosary at 7 in the funeral home chapel.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by committal services at 4 p.m. at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery in Eureka.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Libby Volunteer Ambulance.
Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
