Helen Loretta Bernard

KALISPELL - Helen Loretta Bernard, 78, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 1991, parents James Kennedy and Lulu Ann Hewitt Bernard, three brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Turley and husband, Ralph, of Kalispell; and Helen Louise Brundage and husband, Louis, of Okanogan, Wash.; son Louis Bernard of Marion; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Johnson Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21.

The family suggests memorials in Helen's name to Brendan House.

Lillian Jean Koenig

KALISPELL - Lillian Jean Koenig, 89, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband,Gerald, and parents Robert S. and Ethel B. Cameron Copeland.

She is survived by her daughter Jerry Hood of Columbia Falls; two granddaughters, Della Kienas of Kalispell and Sandi Winters of Phoenix; grandson Robert Winter and wife, Deb, of Denver; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Johnson Mortuary.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The family suggests memorials to the church, 400 W. California, Kalispell, Mont. 59901; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Alice A. Boyett

BIGFORK - Alice A. Boyett, 64, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at her home in Bigfork.

She was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Deer Lodge to Arthur "Mutt" and Gretchen Midtlyng Mowatt.

Alice is survived locally by her husband James O. Boyett at the family home in Bigfork.

Funeral services are pending under the direction of Johnson Mortuary & Crematory.

Laura Smith

SALMON, Idaho - Funeral services for Laura Smith, 85, of Salmon, Idaho, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Salmon Cemetery. Father Bob Perry will officiate.

Laura died Jan. 15, 1999, at Steele Memorial Hospital in Salmon.

Arrangements are by Salmon River Funeral Chapel, 504 Finstur.

GEORGE E. "ED" MCGEE

George E. "Ed" McGee, 50, of Charleston, S.C., formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va., died unexpectedly Oct. 11, 2002, in Charleston. He was born Feb. 21, 1952, at Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Gertrude Maston McGee Cronin of Waverly, W.Va., and the late Harnie Alfred McGee.

He was a 1970 graduate of St. Marys High School and attended Marshall University. He was a field engineer by trade, having worked plant jobsites all over the valley as well as Pittsburgh, Detroit and South Carolina.

He was a respected musician throughout the valley, playing both keyboard and guitar, and had recently released a CD in the greater Charleston area. He was active in the arts and the cause of children, and served various community organization. He was a past president of the McKinley PTA, past president of the Wood County Council of PTAs, past candidate for the Wood County Board of Education, past treasurer of the YMCA Sharks swim team, worked diligently on the original "Save the Smoot Theatre" campaign, and served as set builder for the Parkersburg Civic Ballet Company.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Erica "Nikki" McGee-Greenberg and her husband, Adam of Seattle, Wash., and Katie Laine Hall and her husband, John of Bozeman; one granddaughter, Adrienne Laine Hall of Bozeman; three sisters, Mrs. Sherry Seppesy of Greensboro, N.C., Tracy Bills of Waverly, W.Va., and Mrs. Janice Malone of Waverly, WV, two brothers, Frank McGee of Florida, and Mike Cronin of Waverly, W.Va.; stepfather, Robert Cronin of Waverly, W.Va.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Roy P. Montgomery Jr

Roy P. Montgomery Jr., 52, died March 30 in Seattle, Wash. Roy was born in Birmingham, Ala., where he grew up. Roy spent his twenties in Florida where his barbecueing skills earned him his nickname, Rastas. At the Horse Research Center in Gainesville, Fla., Roy began his career working with horses. Roy moved to Montana to manage Quinta Land and Cattle, a horse breeding ranch on the Madison River. Roy then lived in Bozeman, and most recently in the Shields Valley. Roy was a lover of books, spurring him to become involved the literacy program in Park County. He was also developing a proofreading business from his home.

Those who knew Roy will always remember his story telling, his irreverent sense of humor, his unbelievable patience, his cooking and his friendship.

Roy will be remembered by his sister Suzanne Helms (Richard); two nephews, Chris and Matthew Helms (Elaina); one great nephew, Gage Helms; many friends, and his beloved canine companions, Chuck and Lillie Mae.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Gallatin or Park County. A celebration of Roy's life will be held Sunday April 21st. To join us call Judy at 586-6489.

MILDRED A. RUDIO

Mildred Alyce Rudio of Bozeman passed away peacefully in her sleep Nov. 4, 2002, at the age of 94. She was born Oct. 18, 1908, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Carl and Lillian (Dale) Aldrich. She graduated from high school in Ekalaka, and attended Billings Deaconess Nursing School, becoming a registered nurse.

LEO VONDALL

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, Leo Vondall died peacefully in his sleep at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings. Leo was a very active member of the Bozeman community for over 25 years.

MONTANA M. VINCENT

Montana M. Vincent, 87, of Helena died Oct. 23, 2002, at the Big Sky Care Center. She was born April 11, 1915, in Circle to James A. and Gertrude Reynolds. She married Harry C. Vincent Sept. 8, 1934.

FRANCIS W. RAVET

Francis William Ravet was born on Sept. 11, 1931, in Bozeman to Anna and John Ravet. He died on Oct. 14, 2002, after a determined and courageous battle against lung cancer.

KENT KERSHNER

The Rev. Kent Lester Kershner, 58, died Oct. 1, 2002, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, of leukemia. He was the husband of Maryann Gurney Kershner, his wife of 34 years. Born March 15, 1944.

CAROL BRUTLAG

Dena Carol Brutlag, 83, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2002 at the home of her granddaughter, Lynda, with whom she made her home. She was born Dec. 8, 1918 in Baldwin, Wis.

Roy P. Montgomery Jr

Roy P. Montgomery Jr., 52, died March 30, 2002 in Seattle, Wash. Roy was born in Birmingham, Ala., where he grew up. Roy spent his twenties in Florida.

Ethelyn Vivian Brooks Elford

Ethelyn Vivian Brooks Elford was born May 9, 1909 to Flavus and Henrietta Kilmer Brooks in Twin Falls, Idaho. Ethelyn joined two sisters, Crystal and Marie, and a brother Carl.

PATRICIA "PAT" TIDBALL

Patricia "Pat" Tidball passed away in Reno, Nev., on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born on March 23, 1925, in McMinnville, Ore.

JOHN LINDEKUGEL

John Lindekugel, 66, of Bozeman passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002. He was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Mitchell, S.D., the son of Harold Otto and Mary Catherine (Crosswait) Lindekugel.

HILFRED P. SCHATZER

Hilfred Paterson Schatzer passed away Jan. 1, 2002, at the home of her sister, Betty, in Bozeman. Hilfred was born in Elrod, S.D., in 1909. She moved with her family to Livingston when she was 6 years old.

DENNIS C. BECKER

Dennis C. Becker, Jr., age 33, of Montana, died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, in Montana. He was born in Kenosha, Wis., on March 9, 1968, to Dennis C. and Marlene (Cerveny) Becker Sr.

DONALD GLENN STARK

Donald Glenn Stark, a Rudyard farmer, collapsed and died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at his farm. He was 77.

The funeral Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Hingham. Burial will follow in the Rudyard Cemetery.

Donald was born in Great Falls on Nov. 27, 1925.

JAMES H. NEWMAN

James H. “Judge” Newman, 81, died of natural causes on Nov. 23, 2002.

Born in Havre on Oct. 14, 1921, Judge led a full and prosperous life. He graduated from Havre High School in 1940. After high school he started his career by opening the first Texaco station in Havre at the age of 21.

NINA RODGERS

EDMONDS, Wash. — Nina Francis Rodgers, 83, of Edmonds, Wash., died Jan. 18, 2002, in Edmonds.

She will be buried at Spring Canyon Cemetery in Grand Coulee, Wash., next to her husband, Clarence V. Rodgers.

TY ALAN COOK

GLASGOW — Ty Alan Cook, 16 months, died Feb. 13, 2002, at a Great Falls hospital from a congenital birth defect.

Funeral was held Feb. 16 in Glasgow with burial in Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

JULIETTE ACHER

CHINOOK — Juliette Tilleman Acher, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at her home in Chinook due to cancer.

Rosary is 7 p.m. today at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.
