Paula Stewart

1953 - 2004

Mass of Christian Burial for Paula Stewart, 51, Billings, formerly of Sidney, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Sidney. Wake services are at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel in Sidney. Interment will be in the Sidney Cemetery in Sidney, under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

Paula passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2004, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings.

Paula Yvonne Prevost was born to Paul and Lucy (Cole) Prevost on May 28, 1953, in Sidney. Paula attended schools in Sidney and graduated from Sidney High School in 1971. After high school, she attended Eastern Montana College in Billings where she earned an associate of arts degree in business in 1974.

On Oct. 23, 1976, Paula married Patrick Sheridan of Glasgow. They were blessed with three sons - Shane Patrick, Joel Paul and Luke Cole. Paula and Pat lived in Billings for a year before making their home in Sidney. Paula worked various jobs, but the job she loved the most was being a mother, taking care of her family, and following her sons many school and sports activities.

Paula lost her husband, Pat, and her father, Paul, in 1987. Her mother, Lucy, passed away in 1989.

Paula and her boys continued living in Sidney where she worked in the Sidney Public School system, was involved in Women of Today, and raised her boys with the help of her family and friends.

In 1992 Paula and the boys moved to Billings. She attended MSU-Billings and in 1995 earned her bachelor of science degree in business administration with a double degree in accounting and information systems. Paula passed her CPA boards in 1998.

Paula met John Stewart in 1992, and they married in July of 1995. John brought out her sense of adventure. Paula tried skiing, para-sailing, sky diving, and supported John's motorcycle drag racing.

Paula was instrumental in establishing Montana Linx, their family owned chain link manufacturing business. She was involved in all aspects of the business from physical labor, filling orders, helping customers, inventory control, and all the accounting and managerial duties as president of the company. She also managed her own accounting firm and John's construction business. Paula was the driving force behind all three companies.

As hard as Paula worked managing all three businesses, the job she was best at was being a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had the tiniest feet, but her shoes will be very hard to fill.

The door to Paula and John's house was always open. Her sons, their cousins, and their many friends spent countless happy hours growing up together there. The cookie jar was always full, and many extra plates were set for dinner. Paula always made time for late night talks or lectures, and "it was never late till 12 and then it was early." That was her special time with "all her kids."

The true apple of Paula's eyes were her grandchildren - Kristofer, Oliviya and Isabella Sheridan. She loved them so dearly, and the time she spent with them was priceless.

She is survived by her husband, John Stewart, Shane and Jennifer and their children Kristofer, Olivya and Isabella, Joel and Luke Sheridan, all of Billings; brothers and sisters, Jeannette and Nick Phillips, Spokane, Wash.; Greg Prevost, Enid; Deb Prevost, Mary and Jerry Buske and their children Scott, Matt and Greg, Tom Prevost and his special friend Jeanne, all of Sidney; and Diane and Bart Beck, Billings.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Lucile (Lucy); her first husband, Pat; a sister, Paulette Lucile; a brother, Lawrence Paul; grandparents; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for Luke's college expenses.
