Dr. Philip D. Thomson
Philip Depoyster Thomson, accomplished transplant immunologist, medical illustrator, published researcher, innovative teacher and mentor died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at his home in Friendswood, Texas, after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Friendswood at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, with the Rev. Robert J. Moore officiating. According to Phil’s wishes, his ashes will be scattered at his home on the ranch of his dear friends, the Pugrud family in Winnett, Mont. Those who wish may make contributions in Phil’s memory to Flatwillow Memorial Hall, c/o Raye Ann Lund, P.O. Box 100, Winnett, Montana 59087; or Hospice Care Team, 1708 Amburn Road., Suite C, Texas City, Texas 77591; or MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Belinda Ann Warren
Belinda Ann Warren, 33, of Lewistown, devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in the Billings Clinic following a short illness. Funeral services for Belinda A. Warren will be Thursday, June 28, at 2 p.m. in the Bread of Life Baptist Church in Lewistown. Interment will take place at a later date in Refuge cemetery in Weaverville, N.C. A reception will follow the services at the Bread of Life Baptist Church. Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Friends are asked to make memorials to the Bread of Life Baptist Church, to be used in constructing a classroom and baptistery to be built to honor Aunt B’s Sunday School Class. Memorials may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Jan Denise Gore
Jan Denise Gore, 56, of Hobson and Lewistown, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, of cancer at Valle Vista Manor in Lewistown. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Christian Church in Lewistown on Friday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception and luncheon at the church. Interment will be at Philbrook cemetery in Hobson at 2 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Hobson Alumni Scholarship Fund, c/o Hobson School, Box 410, Hobson, MT 59452 or they may be left at Creel Funeral Home.
Creel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Helen "Carol" Smith
Galena, Alaska, resident Helen "Carol" Smith, 59, died in her sleep June 7, 2003, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, from colon cancer.
A small service for friends and family will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. in Anchorage. A second memorial service in Whitefish is pending.
Carol was born March 18, 1944, in Whitefish, to Maxine Lodinoff. Her stepfather of many years was Alex Lodinoff. She married James Smith in 1963, right after graduating from Whitefish High School. After four years of college in Superior, Wis., she and her husband spent 32 years serving education in Montana and Alaska. The family spent 21 years in Rudyard.
She moved with her husband to Galena in the summer of 1999, where she worked for the Galena City School District in the library. Her family wrote, "Carol was a true angel in every way. She was a nurturing mother and loving daughter, who thrived on daily contact with her children. Her granddaughter, Trinidi, was the focus of these last eight years of her life and will carry her spirit into the future. In Carol's world, friends became family and these lasting adoptions used up all the time in her day. Her parents, children, and siblings were her fondest possessions. She had an extensive cookbook collection and was happiest when she was preparing meals for all her friends and family.
Her kind heart and beautiful smile will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to share a moment with her.
Knitting, cooking and spending time with her family were her favorite things to do."
She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Jim; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Patti, all of Galena; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Ameer of Anchorage; and granddaughter, Trinidi of Anchorage; parents, Maxine and Alex Lodinoff; brother, Bubby; all of Whitefish; brothers, Bernie Robertson of Ranier, Wash., Bob Robertson of Havre; sisters, Penni Robertson of Havre, Debbie of Billings, and their families; sister-in-law, Shirley Devoe of Nova Scotia; father- and mother-in-law, Marjorie and Lloyd Brownell of San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her natural father, Bill Robertson; and sisters, Carlene and Linda.

Ross C. Boucher
Ross C. Boucher, of Billings, passed away Nov. 27, 2007, from cancer, at the age of 83.
Ross was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Lewistown to his parents, Joe and Mary B. He was the youngest of three children.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice.
Cremation or Funeral Gallery of Billings (254-2414) was in charge of arrangements.

Dean A. Marshall
Dean A. Marshall, 86, of Missoula, passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, from natural causes at St. Patrick Hospital.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, Nov. 29 at Garden City Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Reverend Tom King officiating. A reception followed in the community room of the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to Toys for Tots or the Watson Children’s Shelter, 2901 Fort Missoula Rd, Missoula, MT 59804. Arrangements were made under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.

Kenneth G. Wise
Kenneth G. Wise, 67, of Lewistown, died Sunday evening, Feb. 17, 2008, of natural causes in St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.
The Cloyd Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.

Marcie Mosley
Marcie Mosley, 56, of Helena, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at St. Peters Hospital in Helena, of heart failure.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Gateway Center, 1710 National Avenue. A reception will follow the service. Memorials in Marcie’s name are suggested to the Donate Life America (National Organ Donor Organization) 700 N. 4th Street; Richmond, VA 23219; American Diabetes Assn. P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; Montana State Veterans cemetery P.O. Box 5715, Helena, Montana 59604, or to an organization or charity of the donor’s choice.

Christiana L. Blackman
Christiana Lynn (Warren) Blackman, 32, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N 6th St. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to a trust fund for Curtis and Lucas or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
Arrangements were handled by Skradski Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.

Niles E. ‘Tiny’ Haddock
Niles E. "Tiny" Haddock, 74, of Winnett, died Sunday evening, Feb. 17, 2008, of natural causes at his home.
Funeral Services for Niles "Tiny" Haddock will be Thursday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Winnett Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Winnett cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel. The Cloyd Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
Friends are asked to make memorials to the Winnett Ambulance or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Laurence Osburnsen
Laurence Osburnsen, 94, formerly of Big Arm, Mont., and Surprise, Ariz., passed away on May 4, 2008, in Kalispell, Mont. Larry was born July 7, 1913, in Joliet, Ill., the seventh of 10 children of Haggen and Alvina Osburnsen. He moved with his family in 1914 to homestead in the Denton area of Montana. He graduated from Denton High School in 1933, where he was a member of the basketball, football and track teams. After graduation he attended the Montana School of Mines from 1934-1935 and transferred to the University of Montana where he received a degree in Forestry in 1939. Larry’s wish was to have a lakeside memorial at his home in Big Arm. This will be held in late summer. In lieu of flowers, Larry wished memoriums to be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

Clinton “Bud”Vern Arthur
Clinton “Bud” Vern Arthur died of cancer in Billings at the Horizon Hospice Home on May 5, 2008. He was born the son of Robert & Fern (Sunnyborn) Arthur on March 14, 1938 in Cando, N.D. Bud grew up in Circle where he graduated from high school and excelled at basketball. After service in the Army, he married Maxine Stiles on January 19, 1960. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1pm on May 10, 2008 at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue, Billings, MT (across from the Moss Mansion). Memorials may be made to Horizon Hospice Home, C/O Big Sky Hospice, (406) 247-3300, PO Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107.

Joyce M. Baker (English)
Joyce M. Baker (English), 75, of Stanford, a rancher and farmer, died Tuesday of pancreatic cancer at her daughter’s home in Great Falls.Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10 at Trinity Lutheran MSLC at Stanford. Cremation will take place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. She was active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Stanford, the American Legion Auxiliary, Montana Farm Bureau, and the Republican Party.
Joyce enjoyed gardening and crafting. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Lutheran Church in Stanford.

Jon Scott Hardesty
We lost our beloved Jon Scott Hardesty in a work - related tragic accident on Saturday, May 3, 2008. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Croxford Funeral Home, in Great Falls. Jon was born to Joel and Lila Hardesty in Sheridan, Wyoming on September 9, 1959. He attended Huntley Project Schools in Worden, MT and was an active participant in high school sports. Jon was a heavy equipment operator, a hard working, loyal and valued employee for N.A. Degerstrom while mining gold, and most recently with Schumaker Trucking and Excavating. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Robert Baker, and an aunt, Rusty Solomon.
Memorials in Jon’s name are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House, 1144 North 30th St., Billings, MT 59101 or the CMR high school football program, or to donor’s choice. We love you Jon Scott.
