Natalie Rose Alexander (Naddie Roses), age 2, of Poplar, Montana went home to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota as the result of a tragic accident.
Natalie was born on February 1, 2005, along with her twin sister, Courtney Taylor, daughter of James and Alana Alexander in Glasgow, Montana.
Natalie loved going to church and was the youngest in children's church at the Assembly of God in Poplar, Montana. She was her family's little princess. She loved dresses, high heels and finger nail polish, but balloons, singing and twirling were her favorite. Her favorite movies were Cinderella and Little Mermaid. She was very courteous and always said 'thank you, ' 'excuse me, ' and 'welcome.'
She did everything with her twin, Courtney Taylor. They painted each other's nails. They danced at Pow Wows, Natalie as Fancy Shawl and Courtney as Jingle. They liked to clean everything except vacuum. While at Auntie Nancy's they loved to ride the 4-wheeler, jump rope, and jump on the trampoline with Sissy. They loved going to the playground and go down the slides. They loved to play tag, ring around the rosie, cheerleading and karate. Their favorite song to perform was 'Glamorous' by Fergie. This year for Halloween she was going as Super Girl, Courtney as Bat Girl, their baby sister, Ryan, as Wonder Woman, and her brother, Bayzel, as Superman.
Natalie is preceded in death by her Great Grandparents James and Agnes (Scott) Melbourne, Grandpa Orin Alexander, and cousin, Ryan Russell Alexander.
Natalie is survived by her parents, James and Alana Alexander; her twin sister Courtney Taylor and sister Ryan Leigh Alexander, and her brothers Bayzel and Alec Alexander, all of Poplar; Grandparents, Mary Rose Melbourne and Clarence (Mary Ann)Spotted Wolf, all of Poplar, Suzanne (Courtney) Smith of Lewiston, Idaho; Great-Grandparents, Harry and Myrna Gruefe, and John and Vera Ironman, all of Poplar; Uncles, Orin (Kristina) Alexander of Poplar, Ryan Alexander of Lewiston, George (Linda) Spotted Wolf and Tylynn Spotted Wolf of Poplar; Aunties, Nancy Steele of Brockton, Sophie Spotted Wolf of Poplar and Rose Alexander of Lewiston; Cousins, Bronson Steele, Jordan and Kendra Spotted Wolf, Chelsea and Tina Belle Alexander, Cameron Azure, Emmalynn Kohl, Shontel Shaw, Isaiah Alexander, Sissy (Erin) Ricker, Noah Pino, Tyger Ricker and Gracie Rouse.
A wake will be held from 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25 at the Poplar Assembly of God Church. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25 at the Poplar Assembly of God Church with Pastors Roger Hunt and Jay Cummins officiating. Interment will follow at the Poplar cemetery.

Justin Schiller
Justin Schiller, age 32, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
Justin was born on October 7, 1976 in Miles City, Montana, the son of Warren and Linda (Jagiello) Schiller. He attended schools in Miles City and graduated from Custer County District High School in 1995. Following graduation, he attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Following his schooling, he worked as a welder in Minnesota, Bozeman, Iraq and most recently in Miles City on the new water storage facility on Carbon Hill.
While in high school, Justin was involved in wrestling and later helped coach Kyle and Bryce in AAU Wrestling. He was also involved in FFA and Tai Kwon Do while in school. He loved all children and had a special bond with his nephews, Kyle and Bryce. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, mostly out fishing Ben Phipps on every outing. After each time fishing, they would prepare a fish fry for their friends and families. As a youth, he enjoyed spending time at the Schiller ranch on Beaver Creek which was a very special place to him and at his grandparent's farm at Whitetail. As an adult, he enjoyed helping his extended families, the Rick's and Morgan's, on their farms in Minnesota. As a welder, he created many works of art, some of which were displayed at the Custer County Art and Heritage Center.
Justin is survived by his parents, Warren and Linda Schiller of Miles City, MT; a brother, John (Arianne Bastain) Schiller of Bozeman, MT; his nephews Kyle Schiller of Bozeman, MT and Bryce Hirsch of Miles City, MT; his grandparents: Dorothy Todd Eaton of Miles City, MT; Corrinne Jagiello of Bozeman, MT; and Vera Schiller of Miles City, MT; his aunts and uncles: KayLynn (Jerry) Michels of Billings, MT; Wesley Schiller of Miles City, MT; Mary (Bill) Mac Farlane of Colstrip. MT; Alice Jagiello of Billings, MT; Betty (Gene Frey) Jagiello of Sheridan, WY; Susan Brown of Bozeman, MT; Carl Jageillo of Scobey, MT; Joyce Davis of Bozeman, MT; Stan Jagiello of North Carolina; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Allen Schiller and Carl Jagiello; and a friend, Billy Morgan.
Visitation will begin on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice or to Justin's family for a scholarship fund to be established for his nephews, Kyle and Bryce.

Katie Russell
Katie Ellen Russell, age 27, of Broadus passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 while working at the ranch with her nephews.
Katie was born in Miles City, Montana on May 9, 1980, the daughter of Charlie and Shirley (Engel) Russell. She grew up on the family ranch on Doyle Creek, homesteaded by Louis and Frankie (Castleberry) Russell. She attended school in Broadus and graduated from Powder River County High School. She attended Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota and Montana State University-Billings, graduating from MSU-B with certification to teach Special Ed K-12 & Elementary Education, student teaching in Broadus & Miles City.
Katie taught for one year in Caldwell, Idaho, moved back to Broadus and ran a daycare for 6 months, then moved to Billings to teach in the Billings School System at Bitterroot School. She was presently teaching kindergarten at St. Labre Indian School.
As a young child Katie enjoyed piano lessons, ballet, Brownie Scouts, 4-H and spending time with her animals. In junior high and high school she loved Art, Yearbook, Rodeo, Speech, being with her friends, especially enjoying being the High School Mascot and winning the State Duck Stamp Art Contest with Nerm Stevens. Katie was also very proud of having been crowned the 2003 MSMR (Bucking Horse Sale) Queen.
Katie had an impact on every child with whom she came in contact and loved each and everyone as an individual. Katie especially loved her nephews and niece, whenever she had a spare minute, you could always find her with them. She went out of her way to make them feel special and to always include them, even in the discipline and life lesson department. Katie was a free spirit and tried to instill the same in the kids to believe in themselves and always love each other.
Katie spent the last year since moving back to Broadus, doing what she loved, ranching and being with her family. Anyone who had ever met her knew that they could count on her for anything they might need.
Katie is survived by her parents: Charlie and Shirley Russell; sisters: Julie (Shane) LaPlant and JeriLyn (Jim) Logan; nephews: Austin and Drew Arithson, Jackson Logan, Shaw and Clay LaPlant; niece, Heather LaPlant; her dog Nova Marie; maternal grandfather, Ken Engel and friend 'Gramma Mona'; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; her special brothers, Jason Arithson and Buck Ward and the St. Labre Kindergarten Class. She was preceded in death by: Paternal grandparents Louis and Frankie Russell; maternal grandmother Iona Engel. Katie treasured the birthday that she shared with Aunt Dianne.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Broadus. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Valley View cemetery in Broadus.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.

Cy Geller Kincheloe
Cy Geller Kincheloe, our miracle baby boy, forever changed our lives Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2007. He was born at 1 lb., 8 oz., to his proud parents, Amanda and Clay.
Even though Cy was small in size, he was big at heart and touched the hearts of many lives. Cy brought us immeasurable amounts of joy and happiness as he taught us to enjoy the little things in life. Cy was looked up to by his family, friends, nurses and doctors as he conquered many of his challenges. On Jan. 19, 2008, Cy was faced with yet another challenge; however, unable to overcome but fighting to the end, God came and comforted him in His arms and welcomed him to heaven.
We find comfort knowing he will be loved and cared for by those who preceded him in death: great-grandma and grandpa Vi and Wendell Kincheloe; great-grandpa Leo Haughian; great-aunt Rita Morford; great-grandpa Joel Hardesty and great-uncle James M. Kautz.
He will be loved and missed by his parents, Clay and Amanda; grandparents Rob and Geri Kincheloe and Dan and Susan Kautz; aunt Jamie Kincheloe; cousin Kinley Burian; uncles T.W. Kincheloe, Brent Kautz, Dusty (Shae) Kautz; cousin Hadley Kautz; uncle Kurt Kautz; great-grandparents, Anna May Haughian, James and Marge Kautz and Lila (Dennis) Fadrhonce.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the Huntley Baptist Church. A burial service will follow in Melstone.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or St. Vincent Healthcare, in care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Father Wilfrid Splonskowski
Fr. Wilfrid Splonskowski, OSB, 82, died on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dickinson, N.D., due to complications after hip replacement surgery.
Fr. Splonskowski was born in Braddock, N.D., on Aug. 2, 1925, to Francis and Elizabeth Kapperman Splonskowski. He as born into a family of six boys and five girls. Three of the boys became monks and priests of Assumption Abbey. Three of the girls became sisters of Mother of God Monastery in Watertown, S.D. After his elementary education, Fr. Splonskowski came to Assumption Abbey for high school. He entered the novitiate in 1945 and made vows on July 11, 1946. After completing his seminary studies he was ordained to the priesthood on May 24, 1952.
Fr. Splonskowski worked in the Abbey schools. He attended Notre Dame during the 1955-56 school year. He was appointed pastor of St. Clement's Church, Haymarsh, N.D., on Aug. 27, 1956. On June 6, 1958 tragedy hit while Fr. Splonskowski was on vacation with his brother, Fr. George, and others. They were hit head on near Vivian, S.D. Fr. George was killed and Fr. Splonskowski was unconscious for about four weeks. On July 17, 1959 he was appointed assistant pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ontario, Calif., to help his recuperation.
From 1962 to 1982 he served in various parishes in the Diocese of Bismarck, including Solen and Odense, St. Stephen and St. Placidus in Stark County, and Selfridge. In addition he was chaplain at the Garrison Hospital from October 1972 to January 1973. On July 1, 1982 he returned to the Abbey. In 1983 he resumed pastoral work at St. Elizabeth's, Lefor with its mission of St. Stephen's. Later he had Lefor, St. Thomas, Gladstone and St. Philip's, Hirschville. From July 1, 1995, to June 30, 1998, he was pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, New Hradec with St. Philip's, Hirshville as a mission. On July 1, 1998 he was appointed to St. Philip's Church, Scobey with its missions at Flaxville, Glentana and Peerless. On July 1, 2000, he was reassigned as parochial vicar to Sacred Heart Church, Miles City, with residence at Sacred Heart Church in Terry. A serious injury to his leg from a fall on May 30, 2005, resulted in his being hospitalized and in rehab until Aug. 2, 2005, when he returned to the Abbey to retire. His recovery continued and he did quite well. He was content at the Abbey and his confreres enjoyed his happy and accepting ways.
Fr. Splonskowski is survived by two sisters, Sister Anita Splonskowski, OSB, Pierre, S.D., and Rose (Ted) Riehl, Flasher, N.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
A Vigil Service will Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at 7 p.m. and a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in the Abbey Church at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007. Interment will be made in the Abbey cemetery. A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City.

SHANON BIG LEGGINS
Shanon Big Leggins, age 37 of Frazer, MT passed away September 14, 2006 at his residence. Shanon was born May 16, 1969 to Garret and Edith (Welch) Big Leggins in Wolf Point.
Shanon graduated from Frazer High School in 1988. He was a self employed laborer and did a lot of carpentry work. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his children and family.
Shanon is survived by his wife; Lynette Brown Big Leggins of Frazer, his children; Jeff, Timothy, Duran, Joseph, Sheldon, Shanon Jr., Amanda and step daughter Lexus all of Frazer. His parents; Garret and Edith (Welch) Big Leggins of Frazer, brothers; Garret (Margaret) Ervin Big Leggins II of Poplar, MT., Roger Dean Big Leggins of Warm Springs, OR., Garret, Jr. Big Leggins of Frazer, Robert Big Leggins of Billings, MT., sisters; Sarah (Wilbert) Kaiser of Billings, MT., Juanita (Maynard) Jones of Poplar, MT., Tonya, Lori and Vicki Big Leggins all of Billings, MT. one grandchild; Malakie.
Shanon is preceded in death by two brothers; Lynwood and John Big Leggins.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 18, 2006 from 1 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's cemetery in Frazer.

Denise K. Red Thunder
'Anything that has reminded you of how precious life is and has taught you to treasure the relations --- is a blessing.'
Denise Kay Red Thunder left this world unexpectedly on July 17, 2004. She was born on January 1, 1972 to Calvin and Sharon (Youpee) Red Thunder. Being born and raised in Poplar, she graduated from Poplar High School in 1990.
She married her high school sweetheart Errol Standing in Wolf Point, MT. They later divorced but remained friends.
Denise was a descendant of the late Red Thunder and Owl Bull, and her family lineage included the Minneconjou, Hunkpapa, Santee and Oglala Sioux bands.
Denise enjoyed chatting on her computer where she met many new friends; her evening car rides with Donelle; visiting for hours with her mother and sister; reading; and most of all, she loved to be with her children.
Those surviving Denise are her son (adopted brother) Jared Wade; her daughters JenEtte Cailen Tione and Shanel Angelique; her mother Sharon; her brothers Sheldon (Ilenda) and Calvin Jr.; her only sister Angeline (Mike); nephews Tommy, Brandon, Sean, Jim, Shane, and Seth; and her niece Maria. Also surviving her are her maternal grandfather Jim Youpee; numerous aunts and uncles, a special cousin/sister Sharon Kidman. Through Indian custom, her adopted bothers and sisters include, Asad Mushtaq, Donelle Buckles, Janene Shigley, and Connie Thompson.
Denise, we know it could never be said enough just how much we love and care for you. We know we took for granted that you would always be here. We can't imagine what life is going to be like without your smile, your voice and your touch. We will always love you. Mom, Babe, Chic, Jared JenEtte and Shanel.
Viewing will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Poplar, with a vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Poplar City cemetery.

Jacob "Jay" Huber
Jacob 'Jay' Huber, of Terry, MT passed away on May 6, 2004 at his home, a week before his 30th birthday after a long illness.
Jay was born at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City on May 13, 1974 the son of Gary and Carolyn (Roberts) Huber. He was raised in Terry and went to school in Glendive. Jay graduated from Dawson County High School in 1993 through a special education program. Jay was able to attend his 10-year class reunion in the summer of 2003 with the help of caregivers, Dawyna and Dan Kirkpatrick.
Jay participated in Special Olympics and was involved in church activities and loved to bowl until his failing health prevented him from continuing.
Jay is survived by his parents, Gary and Carolyn Huber of Terry, MT, two brothers; SGT Gregory Huber of Fort Sill, OK, and Nolan Huber and his wife Tiffany, and their children Maxine, Jacob and Justis of Terry, MT, his grandmothers; Anna Huber of Fallon and Mildred Roberts of Glendive, MT, his foster family; Randy and Roxanne Clonce and their family of ID, formerly of Glendive. He is also survived by his special friends of the family; Dale, Joan, Jude and Ross Hubber of Terry, MT, and many friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers; Jacob Huber and Ray Roberts.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2004 at 6:00 pm at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 2:00 pm at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in the Prairie County cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday, May 10, 2004 at 11:00 am at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry.

Amanda Rose Heser
Amanda Rose Heser went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 19, 2004. Amanda was born October 14, 2002 in Billings, MT to Chad and Reanna Heser.
Amanda's favorite thing to do was spend time with her older brothers, playing ball, playing inside and outside, and just following them around wherever they'd go. She also liked spending time with grandparents, family and friends.
Amanda was the light of her family's life. She touched our hearts and filled our lives with joy. Amanda will forever be remembered by those special moments and memories that each of us has of her.
She is preceded in death by her grandma Lynn Berger and grandma Mazel Petrick. Her parents Chad and Reanna Lambert Heser and three older brothers, Andrew, Kevin and Logan, survive her. Also surviving are great grandparents Dr. Jack and Mitzi Lambert, Frank and Faye Heser, and Lucille Olson, grandparents Steve Lambert, Connie Lambert, and Ken and Agnes Heser; aunt Darci Heser and fiancé' Wayne Brown, uncle Ryan Lambert, aunt Kris and son Spencer Lambert, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials for Amanda Rose Heser can be made at the Wolf Point Federal Credit Union.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 22 from 3 to 8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23 at 2 pm at the First Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Stephen Gordon Gerald Brown
Stephen Gordon Gerald Brown was born in Glasgow, MT on June 3, 2004 and passed away later that same day. Our baby Stephen went home to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on June 3, 2004.
We thank God for the precious moments we had with Baby Stephen. Even though it was for a short time we will never forget him. He was our little Baby while here on earth but now he is in the Kingdom of God.
He was preceded in death by his grandpas: Patrick H. McKay Jr. "Boy Boy", Gordy Brown, Ritchie Brown and John Walking Eagle; three aunts: Dena A. Duncan, Karmen R. Brown, and LaToya Walking Eagle; and two uncles: Johnson Walking Eagle and Larry Dee Hamilton, Sr.
He is survived by parents, Gordon "Billy" and Teresa Brown; four sisters: Autumn Jessie Jade, LaVanchie Patricia Rae, LaRae Dean Janae, and Teresia Lyla Phebeann; three brothers: Christian Clincher, Brenden Cole and Larin Patick William; Great-Grandmas: Theresa Walking Eagle McKay and Rita Brown; Grandmas: Phoebe (Denny) Owens, Lyda (Lonnie) Red Dog, Doris, Patty and Iris McKay; Angela Brown, Carolyn Baker, Grandpas: Morris and Mike Brown, Dean and Greg Bighorn, Junebug McKay, and Gerald Melbourne; uncles: Pat H. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Poplar at 2 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2004 with the Rev. Dr. James Isaac officiating. Visitation and prayer service was on Sunday, June 6, 2004 from 5 - 9 p.m. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
