HAZEL THREE STARS
Hazel Three Stars, age 70 of Poplar passed away August 24, 2006 in Billings, Montana. Hazel was born in Poplar on February 4, 1936 to Clayton and Lulu (Renz) Lester. She grew up in Poplar and attended school there, she also attended school in Flandreau, SD. Hazel had a short marriage to Roy Azure Jr., but she met her true love while working at the Brown Derbie Bar, Mr. Harry Three Stars. In 1964 Hazel married her life mate and husband, Harry Three Stars. She later received her GED from the state of Montana. She later attended nursing school in Havre to try and get an LPN degree. Hazel was currently working for the CHR program at the time of her death. She had fulfilled her duties faithfully for 31 years this October. Before that Hazel held numerous jobs such as matron at the jail, A & S Tribal Industries, waitress, bar tender, she was eclectic in her job skills.
Hazel spent her life raising her family in Poplar. She loved attending Pow-Wows, watching her life mate dance, her son's singing, her grandchildren dancing, and all of her many relatives who took part in the events. In her younger years, she was known to have fun (hell raiser), as the older people would attest to, and her mother called her Ich-moo Win, (cat woman). She lovingly gave her name to her great-granddaughter, Shallen Azure who used to scrap her, then became friends.
Hazel left her life mate husband, Harry Three Stars of Poplar; her children, Kathleen Ida Azure (Peanuts), Roy A. Azure III (Bugs), Mary Lou Azure (Doody), Harry P Three Stars Jr. (Sonny), Sarah Lou Three Stars (Sissy); sister, Elizabeth DeCoteau; brother, Clayton Lester Jr.; her nephews and nieces, and grandchildren, Carrie Lee Smith, Jeffery Azure, Elizabeth Lambert, Patricia Lambert, Joseph and Genevieve Azure, Melanie Wells Foote, Louie, David, Johnny, and Ida Magnan, Moses and Mycel Young, Ashley Vondall, Ethan and Harry Three Stars III. And all the great grandchildren to numerous to mention. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Lulu; her aunties. Helen Lester Brushhorn, Susan Lester Small; her uncles, Bill Lester, Daniel Lester; sisters, Luella Brown and Birdy Sanchez; and her children 2 girls and one boy; her grandsons, Roy A. Azure IV and Joshua J. Magnan.
A wake will be held Sunday August 27 at the Poplar Cultural Center with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at the Poplar City cemetery.

Jason Bighorn 'Lone Buffalo'
1971-2006
Jason Bighorn, age 35, of Brockton, MT went to be with the creator in the early morning of August 17, 2006 in Brockton, MT. Jason 'Lone Buffalo' came into the world on April 22, 1971. The first born child of Fred and Helen Bighorn of Brockton, MT. He was a wonderful son, a loving brother, an adoring uncle, a helping nephew, an awesome cousin, and a great friend. Jason was always gentle, kind, loving and protective. Jason possessed calmness to himself, always joking, he lit up a room with his smile and could make any day brighter. Jason was always helping others. Without a second thought he would give the shirt off his back, and often did. During Jason's childhood, he was an 'Army brat' who lived in Texas, Georgia, Germany, and Montana with his family. Two days after graduating from Poplar High School in 1992, he left for the military. He joined the Marines as a radio operator and an expert marksman shooter like his mentor, Uncle Bob Daniels Sr., who he had a special bond with. Jason was honorably discharged and later spent much of his time with his family.
Jason preferred to be outdoors rather than in. He could be found hiking, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed leatherworking, sewing, cooking and trying out new recipes from the cooking shows he watched on TV. He was a very talented cook! Jason was an avid craftsman, he enjoyed making knifes and listening to music. He was always prepared for everything and anything; he especially took extra care of his feet because he believed that 'your feet can take you anywhere'. Jason was always willing to teach what he knew and enjoyed being around kids. He lived by the Boy Scout motto. He attended Fort Peck Community College for computer technology.
Jason is survived by his parents, Fred & Helen Bighorn of Brockton; sisters, Cheryl (Alvin) Savior, nephew and namesake Jason, niece Alina Savior all of Billings, MT., Ashlee of Ronan, MT, and Kristin, newborn niece; Tauni Bighorn of Poplar, brother; Roy Bighorn of Wolf Point; adopted brothers, Chris Dunphy, Josh Albanese, Robert 'Bobby' Daniels Jr. of Billings; adopted sisters, Amy (James) DeHerrera and children of Poplar, Shari Daniels and children of Wolf Point, Gale Headdress and daughter of Browning; uncles and aunts, Leonard (Amanda) Bighorn and family, Robin (Jeanne) Bighorn, Greg Bighorn and cousin Paula, Dean Bighorn and family, Angie Brown and family, Caroline Baker and family, April Lindsey and family, Irene Bighorn and family, Lyda Red Dog and family, Allen Daniels, Robert Daniels Sr., June (Walter) Clark and family, Clarice (Al) Spang, Florence (Jerome) First and family, Roy Daniels and family, Bruce Bauer and family, Leland (Doris) Spotted Bird and family, Colleen Clark and Terry Thompson; and God Mother, Nancy Samuelson of Poplar.
Jason is preceded in death by a sister Jennifer, maternal grandparents; Randolph and Mabel Daniels, paternal grandparents Leonard and Catherine Bighorn, and cousins; Larry Hamilton, Karmen Brown.
Jason 'Lone Buffalo' started his journey and is now truly a 'Free Spirit' Go fourth-spread your wings and soar high, smile down on us and be patient. We'll love you forever and miss you Jay with hugs and kisses, Your family and friends. Semper Fi - always faithful.
Visitation will take place Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the James Black Dog Center in Fort Kipp with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the James Black Dog Center in Fort Kipp. Interment will take place at the Fort Kipp cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Donald Alan Eagleman III
Donald Alan (Don Don) Eagleman III, age 22 of Poplar died January 1, 2007 at the Poplar Hospital, cause of death is under investigation.
Donald was born January 13, 1984 to Sharon Yellow Owl and Donald Eagleman, Sr. in Poplar, MT. He was raised in Poplar but later moved to Brockton and was raised by his step dad Everett Buck Elk. He graduated from the Brockton High School in 2003. He played basketball since the 3rd grade and played for Brockton schools for 6 years and went to Butte for the state class C tournament. Prior to his death he was attending the Fort Peck Community College. Donald was a grass dancer and also sun danced. His main hobbies included playing basketball, hunting and fishing, and listening to music. He enjoyed spending a lot of time with his son and his friends. He was a family man.
Donald is survived by his parents; Sharon Yellow Owl and Donald Eagleman, Sr. of Poplar., his son; Deacon (Elvis Eagle) Eagleman of Brockton, and one daughter on the way, sisters; Teri Red Star of Rapid City, S.D., Sunshine Larson of Poplar, MT., Season Eagleman of Great Falls, MT., Jonnie Huerta of Poplar, MT., brother; Chad Eagleman of Poplar. And numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents, and a special dog Gus.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 904 12th Ave, NE in Poplar starting at 2 p.m. A wake will be held Sunday, January 7, 2007 starting at 3 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. A traditional burial will take place at the Poplar City cemetery.

STEWART WAR CLUB
Stewart Wade War Club, age 39 of Wolf Point went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2006. Stewart was born January 17, 1967 in Poplar to Charles and Joan War Club. Stewart was raised in Wolf Point but also went to school in Rapid City, SD, Mandan and Havre. He loved spending time with family and telling stories. He was an artist, and a member of the Blue Earth Boxing Club, and a firefighter as a sawyer.
Stewart is survived by his children, Carrie, Dalton, Leslie Marie and Thomasine War Club; his brothers, Thomas (Gloria), Robert (Patti) and Warren James War Club; sisters, Helen Belcher and Brenda (Billy) Beaudry of Wolf Point. Also many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Stewart is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joan (Lambert) War Club; brothers, BJ and Tuck War Club; sister Leslie Marie War Club; one niece Joan Adrienne Christian; his natural grandparents Wilfred and Helen Silver Lambert; paternal grandparents Robert and Lucille Powell War Club.

KRISTA VIVIER
Krista Vivier was born and died May 3, 2006 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, MT. Krista is survived by her parents; Kyle & Elisa Wetsit Vivier brother; Joshua Jacob Wetsit, grandmothers; Laura Romero, Lola Wetsit all of Wolf Point, Paternal grandparents; George & Nova Wetsit, Larry Vivier Jr., all of Minot ND. and Great Grandmother; Loretta Vivier of Minot, ND., Elvira Mahto of Wolf Point and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will be held at the Oswego Catholic cemetery.

ZAINE TODD
Zaine Kyler Todd, infant son of Tamara Todd was born and went to be with our heavenly Father on June 3, 2006 in Glasgow, MT.
In his very short time on Mother Earth he is dearly loved by his Grandma Delores Crowe and Grandpa Rodney Todd of Brockton, MT, Great grandparents Raymond & Marietta Four Bear and Cyril & Bette Iron Ring, all of Brockton; and Nelsen & Mary Crowe of Poplar. Zaine also leaves behind his Big Brother Kaiden LaFromboise of Santa Rosa, CA, and Big Sister Ashlyn LaFromboise of the family home in Riverside . He is also loved by many other Grandmas, Grandpas, uncles, aunties and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at Poplar Hospital and the ambulance crew for the care they gave Tamara & Zaine. Also, a thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at Frances Mahon Hospital in Glasgow, MT. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Brockton Cultural Center, with burial at the Riverview cemetery, North Brockton. Rev. Enright Bighorn will be officiating.
Zaine will be interned next to his Great-Great Grandma Katherine Blount (Grandma Kat) to keep her company.
Gods speed our little angel to your eternal innocent and young life with all your relatives awaiting your arrival!! We love you forever. Zaine Thank you for the gift of you. You gave me hope by just being you! After the hurting and healing are through, we'll treasure most of all, the gift of you.

Geraldine Renee Scott
Geraldine Renee Scott, 23 of Poplar, passed away September 17, 2006 at Northeast Montana Health Services in Poplar. She was born February 15, 1983 to Brenda L. Big Leggins and Matthew W. Scott, Sr.
Geraldine attended Poplar schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Geraldine is survived by her parents, Brenda Big Leggins and Matthew Scott, and her grandmother, Estelle Loves Him, whom she thought of as her second mom and raised her, all of Poplar; brothers Matthew Scott of Poplar and Dustin E. Scott of Littleton, CO; and sisters, Matti J. Big Leggins, Sue A. Scott, Audrea Scott, all of Poplar, and Miranda Scott, of Wolf Point. Also surviving are grandparents, Margret Snell and LaVern Loves Him, all of Poplar, Hazel Longee of Omaha, NE; nieces and nephews, Estella Geralynn BigLeggins, Briana Scott, Val'Rae Scott, Cerida Black Wolf, Matthew T. Scott, and Donte Eagle Boy, all of Poplar; cousins, Allen Red Boy, Shilow McKay, Amber Calf Tail, Deona Scott, Orvella McKay, Mason McKay, Emery Loves Him, Edna (James) Loves Him, and Joilynn (Elwayne) Rush; favorite uncle Dewayne Little Plume; aunts Neva Scott Lodermilk of Billings, Mavis Hernandez Scott, Evelyn Loves Him both of Poplar, Carmela and Annabelle Scott of Winebego, NE; her two favorites were Estella Big Leggins and Orvella McKay. She also has numerous aunties, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandmas and grandpas and numerous friends on the street. She was preceded in death by her sister Annette Scott and aunt Rhonda Big Leggins and grandfather Melvin (Toby) Scott.
Wake services will begin at 4 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm on Sunday, September 24, 2006 from 4 to 7 with a prayer service at 7 pm at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 10 am with interment in St. Ann's cemetery.

LYLE JAMES MILLER
Sacred Eagle 'Wamni Waka'
The Great Spirit reached down, touched Lyle James Miller, 31 of Wolf Point on the shoulder and called him to his place in the spirit world on October 6, 2006. He left this world at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT.
Lyle James was born April 12, 1975, in Havre to Joseph Miller, Jr. and Serena Bird.
Wamni Waka enjoyed cruising with his friends, hunting, fishing and working on cars, especially his truck. He was a firm believer in our traditional ways. Lyle will be missed by his family and friends now and forever.
He had a big heart and an even bigger smile for everyone; he was always there with a helping hand for whatever was needed. He might be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
Lyle James is survived by his two sons, Joshua James Miller of Poplar and Christopher Jacob Miller of Billings; his father Joseph (Joyce) Miller, Jr. of Oswego; his mother Serena Bird of Wolf Point; three sisters, Winona Bryner and family of Billings, Sheila Walker and family of Havre, and Jodi Magnan and family of Poplar. His is also survived by his grandfather Willard Miller and grandmother Rose Lilley, both of Wolf Point; aunts Carolyn Henry and Corlene Bird, both of Glendive, Jolene Miller of Poplar, and Debra Fourstar of Spokane, WA; uncles, Rodney Miller and Nelson Bird, both of Wolf Point, Amos Cloud of Poplar, and Steven Bird, Jr. of Tuba City, AZ. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and special friend, Katherine Sun Rhodes of Poplar.

TRACI McKAY
Traci LaRae McKay, age 13 of Poplar left this world on December 14, 2006 in Billings Montana. Cause of death is under investigation. She was born to Eugene and Juanita McKay on December 9, 1993.
Traci enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, and running track and cross country for Brockton where she attended school in 6th grade. She also enjoyed attending pow wows where she excelled in the jingle dress. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, which are to numerous to mention. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.
Traci is survived by her parents, sisters; Jennifer, Tiffany, and Alyssa, brothers; Eugene Jr. McKay and Kevin Old Horn, aunts; Doris, Iris, and Patricia McKay, Roberta Bird, Connie (Albert II) Kirn, Martha (Lawerence) Black Dog, Her uncles; Eugene (Roberta) Bird, Vernon Koffman of Bozeman, her grandpa Joseph Jones of Oswego, her grandma; Gladys Lewis of Brockton, MT. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmothers; Alves Bird, Theresa McKay, uncles; John Walking Eagle Sr. and Patrick McKay II.
A Wake will be held Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Brockton Cultural Center with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Brockton Cultural Center. Interment will be held at the Riverside cemetery in Brockton.

Andrew Fergurson
Our beautiful baby boy Andrew left to be an angel next to our Lord on July 25, 2006. Andrew was only 11 months old. During his short time here with us he was loved dearly by everyone. Andrew always had a big smile for whoever talked to him or played with him. He especially loved spending time with his Daddy, as long as Daddy was holding him on his lap, the two of them would watch rodeo on TV for hours. Andrew was always the center of attention, he enjoyed being spoiled and carried around by Mommy and Daddy. Andrew would have celebrated his 1st birthday on Saturday, July 29, 2006. We know he is having one big party up in heaven. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Billy and Danelle; siblings, Monica Azure, Curie Ferguson, D`laine Drags Wolf, Jasey, William, Isiah, Joseph, Richard & George Jr.; Grandmothers, Lois A. Ferguson, Florence Eagleman, Della (Robert) Brown; Aunts and Uncles, Dellaine Darnell, Ava (Wayne) Loveland, Sandi (Vince) Catudio, Jordis (Robbie) WhiteHawk, Carlene (Sudi) Cloke, Doreen (Curtis) Melbourne, Rose (Ira) Ferguson, Connie Ferguson, Ira (Kim) Darnell Jr., Les (Faye) Ferguson, Deacon (Adreia) Magnan, Jake (Beth) Whitebull and Jasy Brown. Prayer services will be on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 2, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Poplar. Interment will be at the Poplar City cemetery with Pastor Vance Thomas officiating.

BRONSON BON CHARBONEAU
Our beloved Bronson Bon Charboneau left to be with the Lord on November 22, 2006. He was born to Charlene Cheek and John Charboneau on November 11, 1985.
Bronson will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He attended Brockton High School and excelled in Basketball, Cross Country, and Track. Bronson was also a gifted artist. He liked to draw and share his talent with his family and friends. During his spare time, Bronson loved to be with his friends and cousins, playing with his Play station 2, listening to music, playing cards, lifting weights and just being there to support his friends and family in their time of need. There were many nights where Bronson would stay up until the early morning playing cards with his brothers; Eric, Alexis and Andrew and his cousin William. His brothers and uncle Clifton Cheek will miss him dearly when fishing season returns. He used to like and tease with his uncle Errol, which Bronson gave the nickname Archie to, he loved giving nicknames to other people. We will all miss his smiling face and great sense of humor. God gave him to us for such a short time and we will al feel the pain of loss.
Bronson leaves behind his five brothers; Erick (Lana) Sherman, Andrew Sherman, Alexis Charboneau, Jahn Charboneau and Cameron Cheek. His mother Charlene Cheek of Brockton, his dad John Charboneau of Poplar, aunts; Donna (Errol) Yellow Hammer, Linda Melbourne, Beverly Bird Vera (Matt) Big Talk, Joyce (Russ) Parker, Bonnie Gundlack, Debbie Brunner, Gail Charboneau, Michelle Trottier, Jeanette Charboneau, Marquite Charboneau, Marci Charboneau, Darci Charboneau, uncles; Clifton (Angela) Cheek and Craig Charboneau, his grandpas; Ray Cheek and Calvin Melbourne, his grandmas; Susan Cheek, Rebecca Clark and Myrna Charboneau, his great-grandma Gladys Lewis and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held Monday, November 27, 2006 with visitation starting at 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Interment will be held at Riverside Catholic cemetery.

Johnny Jo Speiser
Johnny Jo Speiser was born and passed away August 28, 2009 at St Vincent Health Care for reasons left to God. She is the daughter of John Michael Speiser and Kacey Lynnann Purdon. Johnny Jo is survived by her loving parents John and Kacey, grandparents Brad and Judy Purdon, Rebecca Speiser as well as great grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather John Wesley Speiser, great grandmother Betty Rose Strausberg, great-grandfathers Lewis Montana Howard and Vernon Strausberg as well as her great-aunt Cindy Speiser.
Johnny Jo is loved and missed by everyone in her short life and now looks down upon us.

Karina Joy Real Bird
Karina Joy Real Bird, the infant daughter of Leander and Azurene (Azure) Real Bird and sister of Kelby, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away Friday, January 9, 2009.
Karina is the granddaughter of Edward Real Bird of Garryowen, MT, Rinnissa Fitzpatrick of Fort Yates, ND and Ken and Sandy Azure of Wolf Point, MT; and great granddaughter of Ramona Real Bird of Crow Agency, MT.
A family service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at Blue Sky Ministries in Wolf Point. Burial will follow at Greenwood cemetery.

Rollie Martinson
Rollie Martinson, age 57, of Broadus, Montana passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Broadus.
Rollie was born July 12, 1952 in Minot, North Dakota, the fifth child of George and Doris (Jacobson) Martinson. He graduated from Williston High School in Williston, ND in 1970. In 1974 he married Nancy Johnson and they had two sons, Rudie and Tony.
Rollie was a man of many talents, which were reflected in the work he did throughout his life. He was proud of the work he did in the oil fields of the western part of the US, his work in the charitable gaming industry in North Dakota, and most recently his work as Weed Control Coordinator for Powder River County, Montana.
He spent the last five years in Broadus, Montana with Vicki LaRue, the woman for whom he 'forsook all others.' He became known in the Broadus community, as he was known throughout his life, for his big smile and hearty laugh. He was always willing to lend a hand and never met a stranger who remained one for long.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories, spending time at the Montana bar, and most of all spending time with Vicki. He took great pride in his children's accomplishments and was proud to attend his son Rudie's wedding and his son Tony's college graduation this spring.
He is survived by his son Rudie and his wife Juli, his son Tony, his siblings Jim (Joyce) Martinson, Jerry (Vicki) Martinson, Harold (Carrie) Martinson, Wendy (Harlan) Johnson, and his aunts Melba Jacobson and Avis Frantzick. He is also survived by a host of friends and family who will dearly miss him.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Montana Bar in Broadus. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time at Everson Funeral Home in Williston, ND. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Broadus is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
