Jacqueline Dutton

Jacqueline N. Dutton, died on Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at her home in Libby.
She was born on July 22, 1938, at Tulsa, Okla., to Rudolph and Leona M. Davis Kaase.
She grew up in Redding, Calif., graduating from high school in 1956.
Jacquelyn married Lee Dutton at Central Valley, Calif., on Jan. 15, 1957.
She worked as a police officer in Quincy, Calif., for three years and was a troop leader in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting cookbooks and crocheting.
Jacquelyn was also an avid horsewoman.
Survivors include her husband Lee, Libby; daughters Maggie Henry and her husband David, Libby, and Debra A. Untersher and her husband Douglas, Gillette, Wyo.; sons Douglas B. Dutton, Libby, and Mickey D. Dutton in California, and five grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

Florence Ledum

Former Libby resident Florence D. Ledum, 82, died on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in Spokane.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1922, at Marathon County, Wis., to longtime Libby residents Arthur and Ethel Hoefner.
The family moved in 1926 to Libby where Florence was raised and educated.
She married Jerome Ledum of Libby on June 14, 1941 and they lived in Libby for many years.
Florence moved to Everett, Wash., in 1993, and to Mead, Wash., in 2003.
She took great joy in her role as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, making many beautiful quilts for family members and friends.
She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Libby.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Jerome in 1987 and by daughter-in-law Kay Ledum in 2001.
Survivors include son Larry Ledum, Mead, Wash.; sisters Gloria Skranak of Libby and Dorothy Nelson of Eureka; brother Kenneth Hoefner, Billings,; granddaughters Kristy Day, Mead, and Stefanie Smith, Klamath Falls, Ore., and great-grandchildren Britney, Collin, Kaytee and Kinzie.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Les Nelson officiating.
Interment services will follow at the City of Libby cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until noon on Monday.

Linda Howard Snow

Former Libby resident Linda Howard White Snow, 57, died on Nov. 22, 2004, at her home in Bozeman.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1947, at Libby, to Don and Olga Howard.
Linda attended Libby schools and graduated from Libby High School with the Class of 1965.
She married Rocky White in January 1968 and they had four children.
After their divorce, Linda moved to Forsyth and later to Bozeman.
A cancer survivor for 12 years, Linda was confined to a wheelchair after losing her leg to diabetes. She was an inspiration to many people.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her children Robyn and her husband Dan Hanson, Wendi and her husband Lonny Dunham, and Dusty White, all of Bozeman, and Mykel and his wife Claudia White, Billings; sisters Gayle and her husband Milton Sausedo, Forsyth, and Anita and her husband Glenn Miller, St. Helens, Ore., and brothers Daniel and his wife Freda Howard, Libby, Harlan and his wife Kim Howard, Spokane, two granddaughters, five grandsons and numerous cousins and other relatives.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was conducted in Bozeman.
Burial will take place at Libby at a later date.

Robert Hammer

Robert George Hammer, 85, died on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at his home in Libby.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1919, at Fairview, N.D., one of 13 children.
He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Trenton, N.D., graduating from Trenton High School.
Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 3, 1945 and was honorably discharged on Oct. 28, 1946. He married Reesie Agee at Sidney in 1956 and they moved to Libby in 1957.
Employed at J. Neils Lumber Company, Robert transferred to the company’s Troy mill in 1968.
He later moved to eastern Montana where he worked on a number of ranches and for Prairie Sand and Gravel at Medicine Lake.
Robert retired when he was 72 and returned to Libby.
He enjoyed collecting miniature cars and was very patriotic.
Survivors include four children, Rick Hammer, Spanaway, Wash., Sandy Hodges and her husband Lynn, Newport, Wash., Robert G. Hammer Jr., Libby, and Rita Jean Lind, Troy; seven grandchildren, Robbie, Rick, Phillip, Bailey, Jacob, Rochelle and Tiffany, and a number of great-grandchildren.
Private family services are being held.
Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

Edna Oikle

Former Libby resident Edna L. Oikle, 76, died on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Kirkland, Wash.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1927, at Priest River, Idaho, to Ralph and Katherine Crane.
She married Gerald Oikle in Dillon on April 15, 1947, and they moved to Libby in the late 1940s.
Edna moved to Yelm, Wash., in 2000 to be near her sister and in April 2001 she moved to Kirkland to be near her daughter.
Edna enjoyed poetry, painting, playing the organ and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children Julie Randles and her husband Pat, Kirkland; Ricky Oikle and his wife Sue, Kalispell; four grandchildren, Zoe Woods and her husband Josh, Matt Randals and his wife Nicole, Shaune Randles and Jeremy Bartlett and his wife Tina, and four great-grandchildren, Freedom, Serenity Sequoia Woods and Steven Bartlett.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald on June 14, 2002.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Friday at the Yelm cemetery, 11540 cemetery Rd. SE, Yelm, Wash. 98597
Memorials may be made to Redmond Medic I, 8450 161st Ave. NE, Redmond, Wash. 98052
Arrangements are under the direction of Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home.

Richard Seay

Richard C. Seay, 91, of Libby, died on Nov. 30, 2004, at the Libby Care Center.
He was born on April 13, 1913, at Grangeville, Idaho, to John and Clora Shinkle Seay, the 12th of 13 children.
Richard grew up and attended schools in Mount Idaho and Grangeville.
He worked all his life as a mechanic.
Richard married Jennie Killgore on June 27, 1967, at Clarkston, Wash., and they moved to Libby later that year.
Richard worked for Jaqueths and Libby Auto, retiring in 1977 and later returning to work for another five years.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Jennie, Libby; son Gerald L. Seay and his wife Leora, Deer Park, Wash.; daughter Shirley S. Pine and husband Lee, Vancouver, Wash., nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be conducted.
Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

Herbert Abraham

Herbert H. Abraham, 66, died on Nov. 23, 2004, at his home in Libby.
He was born on March 26, 1938, at Hardin to Harold and Emma Almer Abraham.
The family moved to the Seattle area where he was raised and educated.
Herbert was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle until retirement.
He came to Libby in 2000.
Survivors include his children Lynnette Abraham-Myers of Renton, Wash., Jodine Reed of Portland and Thomas Abraham of Sultan, Wash.; brother James Abraham, Kent, Wash., and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Daniel Abraham in 1984.
Local arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral home and memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Alma Phillips

Former Libby resident Alma Edna Alter Phillips, 94, died on Oct. 12, 2004, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The ninth of 10 children born to Nicholas and Johanna Alter, Alma grew up and received her education in Missouri.
She attended college at Chillicothe, Mo., and was offered a position as a traveling representative of the college.
Instead, Alma chose to marry and on July 6, 1931, she married Willie A. Phillips.
In 1954 Bill and Alma moved to Libby, where Alma became active in the community. She enjoyed young people and volunteered much of her time to the McGrade Elementary School as an advisor.
Active in the Republican Party, Alma was invited to the inauguration of two presidents.
She was an active member of the congregation of the Libby Nazarene Church and was employed at Libby as secretary of the Propane Gas Company.
Alma loved to travel and made many trips to Germany where she was able to find members of her family and maintained close contact with them.
Her husband Bill Phillips died in 1985 and in 1995 Alma moved to Scottsdale to be near her children.
Alma will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, extended family members and a host of friends.
Survivors include Calvin Phillips, Corpus Christi, Texas; Mavis Darlene Phillips Eggert, Sun City, Ariz., and Gerald Alter Phillips, Scottsdale.
Cremation took place at Green Acres Memorial Garden in Scottsdale.
Memorials may be made to the Libby Nazarene Church or to the Parkinson Foundation.

Morrie Price

Maurice L. (Morrie) Price, 77, died on Nov. 24, 2004, at his home in Libby.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1927, at Aurora, Ill., to John and Clara Price.
Raised and educated in Illinois, he had lived at Sunnyside, Wash., and Hermiston, Ore., before coming to Libby in 1987.
Employed as an electrician and appliance repairman, Morrie operated Music Warehouse, formerly Bob’s Radio & TV, at Libby.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his children Gair, Robin, Dawn, Jill and Lonnie, and step-children Judy, Sherrie, Gary and Darcee, 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Private service arrangements are under direction of Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
