Almeda Ethel Scott
BUFFALO, Wyo. - Almeda Ethel Scott, 97, formerly of Powell, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo.
Visitation will be 1-10 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, at the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Crown Hill cemetery in Powell.

Stanley 'Buck' Mulligan
He was a second generation San Franciscan who was born Nov. 28, 1932, and died June 5, 1998.
Buck is survived by his five children, Deborah, Dan, Denise, Darcy and Dana, their spouses, and his seven grandchildren. His greatest pride is his family. His greatest success is in assisting his children in achieving their aspirations. He dedicated himself to helping make their dreams come true with his principle "The will to prepare is the will to succeed."
A pioneering spirit, he recently fulfilled his own dream of living in the Big Sky Country of Montana.
A charismatic and magnetic character, family and friends remember a kind and generous man who devoted his life to serving and providing guidance to those in need, with a special focus on women and children.
OPA - LOVE YOU MADLY.
A private service will be held by his children.

Alice Hotchkiss Kellames
SPARKS, Nev. - Alice Hotchkiss Kellames, 66, passed away of natural causes June 24, 1998.
Alice was born Feb. 21, 1932, in Red Lodge, Mont., a daughter of the late Lafe and Eva Hotchkiss. She graduated from Carbon County High School (Red Lodge) in 1950.
She lived in Sparks, Nev., and worked for the University of Nevada, Reno for the past 36 years. As administrative assistant to the dean of Mackay School of Mines, she was thought of as "invaluable" by faculty and students alike.
She is survived by her son, James, and four grandsons, James, Jase, Jake and E.J.; three brothers, Ken (Betty) Hotchkiss, John Hotchkiss, Jim (Karen) Hotchkiss; and three sisters, Iva (Charles) Thom, Betty (Dick) Vradenburg and Marsha Hotchkiss. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ray; and a sister, Emma (Murray).
Services will be held Tuesday, June 30, in Reno.
Memorials may be sent to: Alice Kellames Memorial Scholarship, c/o UNR Foundation, University of Nevada, Reno, Mailstop No. 162, Reno, NV 89557.

Charles L. 'Chuck' Olsen
Charles L. "Chuck" Olsen, 70 of Billings, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998.
The son of Charles L. and Anna A. Olsen, he was born Jan. 1, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo. As a young man Chuck moved to Billings with his family to join two half-brothers, Ed and Howard Olsen, who operated Broadway and Yellow Cab Company. Chuck served in the Navy during WWII. Following his discharge he returned to Billings where he went to work for Scheels Hardware. Chuck worked 42 years for Scheels, retiring in October 1997 due to ill health. He especially enjoyed working in the gun department. Chuck enjoyed all sports. He enjoyed fishing and following the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Olsen and Virginia Thorson of Billings; his cousin, Annette Andresen of Billings; second cousin, Bill Hughes of Madison, Tenn.; and four nephews, Donald, Steve, Paul and Bob Thorson.
He was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Ed and Howard Olsen.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist, Alderson Chapel. Interment with military honors will be at Mountview cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marion Porteen
GLASGOW - Marion Porteen, 85, formerly of Hinsdale, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at Valley View Home in Glasgow of natural causes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Hinsdale Legion Hall with interment in the Hillview cemetery in Hinsdale. Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge

Mike Reilly
Mike Reilly, 41, of Billings, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary. Cremation will follow.

Norman O. Brown
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Norman O. Brown, 88, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at his home in Sheridan.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Champion Funeral Home of Sheridan is in charge.

Emily Theresa 'Em' Bird-Cantrell
BROCKTON - Emily Theresa "Em" Bird-Cantrell, 49, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at her home south of Brockton after a long illness.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 28, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, at the church with interment in the Riverside cemetery in Brockton. Clayton Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point is in charge.

Wynona J. Taylor
HAMPSHIRE, Ill. - Wynona Taylor, 63, of Hampshire, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at her daughter's home in rural Marengo, Ill.
She was born on March 17, 1935, in Terry, Mont., to Wayne and Margaret Ross. She married Randall Taylor on March 7, 1955, in Terry.
She was a 1953 graduate of Terry High School. She was a resident of Hampshire for more than 35 years and had been employed at Bergadon-Danz Ford Dealership for almost 15 years. The last three years, she worked for the Hampshire Park District.
Survivors include three sons, Randy (Dona) Taylor of Marengo, James (Barbara) Taylor of Hampshire, and Dwight Taylor of DeKalb; a daughter, Jeweldean (Gary) Drechney of Marengo; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Denis (Adeline) Ross of Circle, Mont., Tuffy (Judy) Ross of Lame Deer, Mont., and Kim (Sharon) Ross of Lewistown, Mont.; and two sisters, Lennis (Bill) Rightmire and Wava Robison, both of Billings, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott; her husband in an auto accident Aug. 9, 1981; and a close friend, Red Horton.
A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, in the Fredrick Funeral Home in Hampshire, the Rev. Gordon Smith officiating.
After cremation, private interment will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DeKalb County Hospice, 213 E. Locust St., DeKalb, Ill., 60115, or the Kishwaukee Medical Foundation for Cancer Treatment (to assist those in need of chemotherapy treatment) P.O. Box 503 DeKalb, Ill. 60115.

Frank F. 'Tody' McGuinness
BUTTE - Frank F. "Tody" McGuinness passed away Friday, June 26, following a short illness. McGuinness was born in Butte, Aug. 15, 1918, the son of Bernard and Kate McGuinness. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Butte High School. He was inducted in the Army in August of 1941 and served with distinction in the Pacific Theater, earning a Battlefield commission and was awarded the Silver Star for bravery. He was discharged a captain in 1946.
Upon his return he was united in marriage to Dorothy F. Garlish. She preceded him in death in 1989.
After a short time in the auto parts business he spent the rest of his life in the livestock industry. He was actively involved in ranching, cattle buying and his main passions were horses, cattle and the outdoors.
Surviving relatives include sons, Jim, Jack, and Jeff, all of Billings; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Johnathan Sachs of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren, Katie, Kale, Kara McGuinness, Ryan Mike and Carly McGuinness, all of Billings, and Molly, Ivey and Patrick McGuinness of Roundup.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday after 5 p.m. at the Chapel of Duggan Dolan Mortuary. Parish vigil services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the mortuary. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross cemetery. Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association.

Helen Johnson
Helen Johnson, 96 of Billings, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at Western Manor.
The daughter of Ernest and Josephine Johnson, Helen was born April 16, 1902, in Minnesota. Helen received her BA in education from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, Minn. She taught in the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota before moving to Kenilworth, Ill., where she taught math at Joseph Sears School until retiring at age 71. Helen has made her home in Billings since 1983.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and the Retired Illinois Teachers Association. Helen was very active in her church. She enjoyed reading, needle work, and tatting.
Survivors include two nephews, Dr. Tom Johnson, his wife, Judy, and their sons, Brett, Burke, and Paul, all of Billings; and Greg Johnson of Falls Church, Va.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Arnold.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services in Cloquet, Minn., will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to First English Lutheran Church, 1243 N. 31st, Billings, MT 59101.

Glenn Eastlick
LAUREL - Glenn Eastlick, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 25, 1998, at the age of 86 years. He was surrounded by his family.
Born on Aug. 18, 1911, at Cornelia, Wis., Glenn was one of eight children born to Clarence and Fannie Israel Eastlick. He came to Montana with his brother, Guerdon, in 1939.
He married Betty Lue Estes on April 15, 1944. They made their home in Silesia, and in later years lived in the Park City, Columbus and Laurel areas. They recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Glenn and Betty raised their three children, Linda Lee, Clarence Lewis, and Gloria Ann. He worked on ranches for several years and retired from Davey Motor Co. in 1973. His hobbies included carpentry work and gardening. His grandsons and their wives were the highlights of his last few years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Laurel; daughters, Linda Strauch (Bill) of Laurel and Gloria Haman of Joliet, and son, Clarence (Kayla) of Laurel; and six grandsons, Cary Haman (Kathy) of Laurel, Lance Strauch (Lisa) of Belgrade, Darren Strauch of Laurel, Chad Eastlick (Mindi) of Burnsville, Minn., Seth Eastlick (Nicole) of Laramie, Wyo., and Steele Eastlick of Laurel. Also surviving is a step-great-grandson, Jeremy Jenks of Belgrade, and twin sisters, Hazel Gillen of Lancaster, Wis., and Helen Laughton of Platteville, Wis., and sisters-in-law, Lillie Eastlick of Platteville and Lucille Eastlick of Laurel.
Thanks, Dad and Grandpa, for being such an inspiration and a mainstay for us as a family. You gave us what money could not buy . . . your love, your caring and your guidance. You will be dearly missed by your family, one and all.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel with interment to follow at the Rockvale cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please give memorials in Glenn's name to a charity of your choice.

Hulda Meschke Paluck
SEATTLE - Hulda Meschke Paluck, born in Belfield, N.D., died June 16, 1998, in Seattle, Wash.
She lived in Belfield until 1974. She resided in Billings for 20 years and then moved to Seattle with her daughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas; and her daughter, Norene. She is survived by daughters, Cecelia (Howard) Patterson of Clinton, Wash. and Sylvia Sharpe of Prince George, Canada; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services and burial will be held at St. Bernard's Church in Belfield, N.D. on July 6, at 11 a.m. Blitz Funeral Home of Seattle is in charge of arrangements.

Merrill Wankel
RAYMOND - Merrill Wankel, 82, of Raymond, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Mercy Medical Center in Williston, N.D.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the First Congregational Church in Plentywood with interment in the Huffman-Wankel family cemetery at the family farms. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood is in charge.

Betty Gear
SIDNEY - Betty Gear, 71, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at the Sidney Health Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Peoples Congregational Church with interment in the Sidney cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney is in charge.
