Willie Cloyd Allison
Willie Cloyd Allison, a longtime Billings resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at Magnolia Place in Billings.
She was born Sept. 2, 1908, in Kentucky, a daughter of Jesse and Rosa Cloyd, the eldest of three children. She came to Montana and attended school in Laurel. She was married for 50 years to Gordon Allison.

Willie worked in the ladies hat department at Hart Albins for many years. She enjoyed her family and friends.

Willie was preceded in death by a sister, La Nell Nichola; and brother, Cecil Cloyd. She is survived by a nephew, Barry Cloyd and his family of Springfield, Ore.

Viewing will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 20 at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th Street West, then a cryptside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Terrace Gardens Mausoleum.

Edward S. Reichert Sr.
Edward S. Reichert Sr., of Billings, formerly of Laurel, died Thursday, July 16, 1998. He was born on May 13, 1918, in Fort Collins, Colo. Ed was the fourth of eight children born to Jacob and Mary Schmidt Reichert. His early years were spent in Scottsbluff, Neb. Then in the spring of 1932, the family moved to Laurel, Mont.
On May 5, 1939, he married Elizabeth Cook. They had four children, Ed Jr., Donna, Ted and Kandy.

Over the years Ed tried his hand at many things. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1983; farmed in the Belfry /Bridger area, worked construction, managed a ranch in Hill City, S.D., and worked for the city of Dallas, Ore.

During his retirement years, he enjoyed yard work and gardening and sitting on the patio with Elizabeth. He enjoyed traveling to visit with family and friends.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his son Ed, his wife Fran, and their children, Curt of Billings, and Kerry Bradac and her husband Scott of Marmarth, N.D.; his daughter Donna Smart, and her son John Cox, both of Denver, Colo.; his son Ted and his children Beau and Dustin of San Marcus, Texas; and his daughter Kandy, her husband Harry Horlings, and their children, Kristin, Andrea, and MacKenzie, of Portland, Ore. He is also survived by his sister Rachel Ruff of Laurel, Mont.; his brother Jake Reichert and his wife Ruth of Powell, Wyo., and his sister Esther Becker and her husband Harold of Alliance, Neb.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Mary; sisters, Emma Peister and Rosalie Stadey; and his brothers, Bob and Harold Reichert.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Interment will follow in the Laurel cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.

Armand Daniel Bird
FORT SMITH - Armand Daniel Bird, "Baby Armo," 4-month-old son of Armand and Danell Stanley Bird, died Thursday, July 16, 1998, in the Crow Agency IHS Hospital.
Buffalo Child (Cree Indian name) was born April 7, 1998, in Havre.

Survivors include his parents of Fort Smith; one brother Royce of the family home; three stepbrothers, Demond of the family home, Chandran and Rylon of Billings; one adopted sister, Alana Joe Herbert of Rocky Boy; two adopted brothers, Arron Leider Jr. and Udell Cly of Rocky Boy; his grandparents, Daniel and Gilda Stanley of Rocky Boy and Marlene Bird of Lodge Grass; and his grandparents, Fred Bird of Lodge Grass and Rosie Eagleman of Rocky Boy.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lodge Grass First Crow Indian Baptist Mission. Interment will be held in the Eagleman Family cemetery in Rocky Boy. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is entrusted with the arrangements.

Martin M. Wallette
FRAZER - Martin M. Wallette, 77, died Thursday, July 16, 1998, at his home in Frazer of kidney cancer.
Visitations will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery, Wolf Point.

Gladys Ruth Molstad
BAKER - Gladys Ruth Molstad, 94, of Baker, passed away Thursday, July 16, 1998, at the Fallon Medical Complex Nursing Home in Baker following a long illness.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1903, the daughter of Frances O. and Ruby (Esmay) Gift at Benson, Neb. Gladys moved with her family in a lumber wagon to the Ollie community where they homesteaded. She attended school in Ollie. Gladys was married to Tom O. Molstad in Glendive on Oct. 6, 1928. They moved to a homestead in the Willard community where they ranched until moving into Baker. Gladys has made her home in Baker since that time.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and crafts. Gladys will be remembered for her beautiful afghans and pillow covers. She attended the Baker Community Church and was active in the ladies aide. She was also a member of the Friendly Homemakers Club and the Senior Citizens Center in Baker.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Dahl and her husband, Bob; a son, Dick Molstad and his wife, Millie all of Baker; a sister, Hazel Osness of Billings; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom; a daughter, Carol Joy Molstad; two brothers, Floyd and Rolland; and a sister, Oral.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 1998 at 11 am. in the Baker Community Church with Pastor Jean McCusker officiating. Burial will be in the family lot of the Bonnievale cemetery. Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur H. Jessen
Arthur H. Jessen, 83, of Hardin, formerly of Fort Peck and Seattle, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, in the Bighorn County Memorial Hospital of a major heart attack.
Born Oct. 13, 1914, to Soren and Trina Jessen in Tyler, Minn., he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran branch of the Christian faith. He loved Jesus, studied the scriptures, and was an active church member all his life. He graduated from high school in 1933 and the next day went to the Civilian Conservation Corps where he worked on projects in Minnesota.

He enlisted in the military in 1936, made corporal and served until 1939. He was drafted in 1943, made master sergeant and was discharged in 1946. He served in the enlisted reserved from 1949-1962 and made master sergeant.

Arthur worked at Fort Peck from 1942 until drafted, and from 1946 until he retired in 1979. Most of his work was for the United States Bureau of Reclamation. In Fort Peck, he was active in the Fort Peck Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the Fort Peck Federal Credit Union. He loved his family and he loved people.

Arthur outlived two wonderful wives to whom he was a faithful husband. He was married to Donna Luciel Campbell in 1940 on August 8 in Sunburst. They adopted Douglas A. Jessen in 1948. He lives in Hardin and teaches in Lodge Grass. Donna died Feb. 2, 1979. He was married to Orel Peterson Sept. 5, 1980. They lived in Glasgow and moved to Seattle where they became active members of St. James Lutheran Church. Orel died Feb. 18, 1989. She was survived by two sons Elton Peterson of White Center, Wash., and Donald Peterson, of St. Xavier, Mont.

Survivors include one son Douglas A. (Carol) Jessen of Hardin, one sister, Helga Smithberg of Elgin, Ill., and two grandsons, Joel and Sorn Jessen. A nephew Richard (Dick) Smithberg and a niece Richelle (Ricky) Harris.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Monday July 20 at 2 p.m. in the American Lutheran Church, Hardin. Interment will follow in the Black Hills National cemetery, S.D.

Bullis Mortuary has been of assistance to the survivors in this process.

Loretta M. Chiarenza
Loretta M. Chiarenza, 59, of Bayshore, N.Y., a summer resident of Pine Creek, south of Livingston, drowned Wednesday, July 15, 1998, in a rafting accident on the Yellowstone River near Emigrant.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services are scheduled for next week in New York. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Livingston is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen Buckley Pinks
AURORA, Ill. - Kathleen G. Buckley Pinks, 80, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of Culbertson, Mont., died Thursday, April 16, 1998, in Yorkville.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 1998, in the Hillside cemetery in Culbertson. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene Cotter
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Eugene Cotter, 92, of Sacramento, formerly of Sidney, Mont., passed away Saturday, July 11, 1998, in Sacramento.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 1998, in St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Sidney. Interment will be in Richland Memorial Park, Sidney. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney is in charge.

Megan Rae Piedade
Megan Rae Piedade, 19, of Billings, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at her home of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the Billings Masonic Center. Cremation or Funeral Gallery of Billings was in charge.

Laverne E. Krohmer
WOLF POINT - Laverne E. Krohmer, 63, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at his farm north of Brockton of an apparent heart attack.
Visitations will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the First Lutheran Church with interment in Greenwood cemetery, both in Wolf Point.

Emily Griggs Davis
PORTLAND, Ore. - Emily Griggs Davis, 90, formerly of Buffalo, Wyo., died Friday, July 10, 1998, at a care center in Portland.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, at the Willow Grove cemetery in Buffalo. Adams Funeral Home of Buffalo is in charge.

Kathryn Josephine Pinto
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Kathryn Josephine Pinto, 84, formerly of Wilsall, Mont., died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Sutter Oaks Nursing Center in Sacramento.
At her request, no services were held. Burial was in the Wilsall cemetery. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home of Livingston, Mont., was in charge.

Emory E. Emerson
CIRCLE PINES, Minn. - Former Wolf Point, Mont., resident Emory E. Emerson, age 71, of Circle Pines, passed away July 10, 1998, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
He was a WWII veteran and retired from carpenter's union Local No. 1644. He was a member of the Blain American Legion Post No. 566 and a life member of Circle Lex VFW Post No. 6583.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Clara Schmidt, of Wolf Point, in April 1998. He is survived by his loving wife, Vera; children, Roxanne Hicks, Roy Emerson, Gene Emerson and Robert Emerson; stepsons, Darrell Wendell, Roger Wendell, Doug Wendell, Chris Wendell and Steven Wendell; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton; sister, Delores Etzel; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Miller Funeral Home at 6210 NE Hwy. 65 in Fridley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National cemetery in Minneapolis. The Miller Funeral Home, Fridley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
