Burle T. Nygaard
WOLF POINT - Burle T. Nygaard was born to Paul Nygaard and Margaret Yuly Nygaard in their homestead shack north of Wolf Point on June 28, 1922. He crossed the Great Divide on July 3, 1998, in Billings.
Burle attended school at the Longview Country School until the family moved into Wolf Point in 1935. After his junior year at Wolf Point High School, he moved to Bremerton, Wash., where he worked in the shipyards and attended night school, graduating with his class of 1942.
Burle then joined the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After that he was a concrete inspector on the Fort Peck Dam powerhouse and Hungry Horse Dam. He owned and operated a Standard Service Station in Fort Peck.
On Oct. 2, 1949, he married Lillian Black in Kalispell. They made their home north of Wolf Point where he engaged in farming and ranching.
He was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, a member of the Elks Club, Airport Golf Club, and Farm Bureau. Burle served as a board member of FHA and he was chairman of the W.P. School Board and Trinity Hospital Board for many years.
Burle T. is remembered as truly one of a kind. Throughout his life he loved his family and his friends. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his life's greatest pleasures.
Though farming and ranching was a life of hard work, he often said with a twinkle in his eye that he wouldn't have had it any other way. Working in the fields, healing calves, and tinkering with his own inventions made him a happy man. He enjoyed a good game of whist and a joke with his friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, and six children, Linda of Portland, Ore., Duane of Wolf Point, Randy of Sedalia, Colo., Brenda of Wolf Point, Steve of Wolf Point, and Brad of Ridgefield, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Elaine of Wolf Point and Lyla of Chester.

Grace Risko
MILES CITY - Grace Risko passed away July 4, 1998, in Miles City. She was born Feb. 19, 1903, in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, N.Y. Her father, Ephram Young, brought his family to Montana to join his brother, David, on his homestead at Westmore in 1920. Grace was just 17. Here she later married Charles Boschen and they raised three sons, Allan, Jerome and Barry. Her sons and their children (10) and grandchildren (15) now live in New Jersey and Massachusetts, but granddaughter, LuAnne Prescott, and her son, Jimmie, live in Houston, Texas. Grace's brother, Harold, lived in Miles City with his wife, Marjory, until recently moving to Forsyth. Their son, Robert, and his wife live in New York. The sons and daughters of Grace's late sister, Florence - Mildred, Melvin and Harold James (another, Delpha, is now deceased) and their children and grandchildren - all live in California. Grace's late brother, Herbert, didn't have any children. Grace's stepson, Gene Newmiller, and his wife and two daughters live in Tacoma, Wash.
After her second husband, Jacob Newmiller, died, Grace lived in Massachusetts near son, Allan, for a time, then in New Jersey near sons, Jerome and Barry. Then she moved to the warm and dry Southwest to a retirement villa in Roswell, N.M., where she met Michael Risko and married again. They continued to live in Roswell for a time and then moved to Green Valley, Ariz. They traveled to interesting places both long had wanted to visit. After 10 eventful years, Mike passed on and Grace returned to Miles City to live at the Eagles Manor, a short distance from her brother. She made many close friends among people at the Manor and had a pleasant life there, exchanging visits with her sons from time to time.
In her younger years, Grace took a course on art by correspondence to better fill some of her time. Art remained an avid occupation for the rest of her life, to the great delight of all of her family and friends. She was always very busy in her art work and active in art clubs wherever she lived.
The essence of Grace's religion was the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." She had ceased to be a member of any church many years ago. Her spirit lives on in the minds and hearts of those who knew her and loved her and in the numerous and various works of art that she created - with care and discretion, which they will always cherish as long as they live, and will pass on to their children and grandchildren, together with words of love and affection, about the life and times of this one, Grace Risko.
