Robert Mitchell Lowell
LAUREL - Our loved one, Robert Mitchell Lowell, went to be with our Father in heaven on Sept. 9, 1998, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema.
Robert was born on Feb. 11, 1926, to Harry and Ila Lowell in North Platte, Neb., where he attended Lincoln Elementary, Briar's Junior High and South High School. He received a football scholarship to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers but decided at the age of 17 to enlist in the Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Knapp destroyer in World War II as a signalman. After service to his country, Robert moved to Denver where he was employed by Gates Rubber Company. Here he met and married Mary Maggie Zundel on Feb. 3, 1951. In 1952, the family moved to Montana where Bob was employed by Home-Ox Co., Coca-Cola Bottling Co., and Northern Pacific R.R. as a machinist helper. He then attended barber college in Spokane, Wash., and was first employed as a barber in the Broadwater Shopping Center. In 1960, Bob established Lowell's Top Shop at 208 First Ave. in Laurel. In 1966, he moved the shop from 208 First Ave. to Main Street and established Lowell's Recreation Hall in conjunction with Lowell's Top Shop. In 1969, he sold the business and returned to 208 First Ave., its current location, now known as Lowell's Barber Shop. Bob retired from barbering in 1988, turning the business over to his son, Dan. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but his true love was watching his grandchildren participate in sports and playing cards with all his family and friends.

He will be missed by his wife, Mary of Laurel; daughter, Penny (Wayne) Goodman of Fromberg; sons, Tom (Christene) Lowell of Park City, Dan (Sherry) Lowell and Garry Lowell, all of Laurel; grandchildren and spouses, Bobby (Sonja), Brenda, Brandon and Byron Goodman; Eric (Kristi), Bryce, Shelley (fiancÈ, Ryan), Justin (fiancÈe, Brandie), Amy, Daniel, Travis, Robin and Ryan Lowell; great-granddaughter, Taylor Lowell and future great-grandchild to be born in February; and sister, Anne of Escondido, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dad, we will never forget how you instructed us never to say good-bye and to always say, "See you later." Dad, we love you and we will "see you later."

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Park City Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Laurel cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel was in charge of arrangements.

George C. Cole
MISSOULA - George C. Cole, 38, formerly of Fort Belknap, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at St. Patrick's Hospital of complications from an injury he received when he was 15.
Wake/Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Red Whip Community Center in Fort Belknap. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Center with interment in the Cole Family cemetery. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge.

Martin R. Zelenka
GLENDIVE - Martin R. Zelenka, 33, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home.

Eugene P. Kelley
WORLAND, Wyo. - Eugene P. Kelley, 85, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Washakie Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with interment in the Riverview Memorial Gardens cemetery. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge.

Helen M. Byford
ROUNDUP - Helen M. Byford, 75, of Roundup, and formerly of Grayville, Ill., passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998, at Eagle Cliff Manor Nursing Home in Billings.
Helen was born April 3, 1923, to Marion and Onie Howell Harrison in West Frankfort, Ill. Helen married Don Byford on April 19, 1944, in Illinois. They moved to Montana in 1952 to pursue interests in the trucking business.

Helen was a devoted Christian and a "good neighbor" in the truest sense. She was always ready to help when someone was in need and was dearly loved by her family and many friends. Her proudest accomplishments were her two sons, Gary and Roger.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Lucille; and her son, Gary, who was killed in Vietnam in November, 1966.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Roundup; her son, Roger and fiancÈe, Robin Robbins of Billings; three brothers, Raymond "Doc" Harrison of Billings, Kenny Harrison and wife, Rose of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Billy Harrison of West Salem, Ill.; one sister, Jesse Morris and husband, Glenn of Cut Bank; and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, from 5-9 p.m. at the Wier Chapel.

Funeral services for Helen M. Byford will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at 11 a.m. at Wier Funeral Chapel in Roundup. Interment will be in the Roundup City cemetery with Wier Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Friends and family wishing to make memorials are asked to make them to the Diabetes Association, 2525 Sixth Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101 or the Northern Rockies Kidney Center at Deaconess Hospital, 2800 10th Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.

Conor Gerard Flanagan
Conor Gerard Flanagan, 5-week-old infant son of Tim and RenÈ Flanagan, joined his Father in Heaven on Sept. 19, 1998. He was born Aug. 10, 1998, in Billings and died at The Children's Hospital in Denver due to complications following heart surgery.
Although his time on earth was short, he touched the lives and hearts of many and brought great joy to his family. Those who were lucky enough to know Conor were struck by his beauty and vigor.

He is survived by his parents; his sister, Teresa; his brother, Liam; grandparents, great-grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Alderson Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Rite of Committal in Holy Cross cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House, 1144 N. 30th, Billings, Mont. 59101.

William K. McBurney
HILGER - William Kenneth (Bill) McBurney, 76, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at the family ranch.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Creel Funeral Chapel in Lewistown.

Patricia Anne Fisher
NAVARRE, Fla. - Patricia Anne Fisher, born March 22, 1933, passed away at her home on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, after an extended illness. She resided in Navarre with her daughter, Karen Fisher, and her grandchild, Natasha Fisher. She married the late Donald Arthur Fisher on Sept. 30, 1954, and together raised eight children.
She previously lived in Billings for 12 years and worked at St. Vincent DePaul's Thrift Store. In August of 1993 she moved to Navarre. She volunteered at the Helping Hands Mission in Navarre.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Fisher and wife, Francie of Billings, William Fisher and wife, Charlene of Navarre, Randy Fisher of Vidalia, Ga.; daughters, Pam Smith of Navarre, Patricia Edge and husband, John of Waycross, Ga., Janine Griffin and husband, Johnny of Pensacola, Lori Bennett and husband, William of Fort Walton Beach, and Karen Fisher of Navarre; one sister, Mary Rosmus of Corona, Calif.; and one brother-in-law, Joe Jennings of Deer Park, Wash.; several nieces and nephews, 18 grand-children and one great-grandson.

We all will greatly miss you. You always gave us the best of every-thing. God Bless You.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998. There will be same day visitation for friends from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Rev. Mack Johnson of Faith Baptist Church will be officiating.

Gladys (Coolidge) Cleland
LEWISTOWN - Gladys (Coolidge) Cleland, 89, of Lewistown, died Sunday morning in Valle Vista Manor of natural causes. She was born July 28, 1909, in Belt, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Williams) Lander. She received her education in Belt graduating from high school there. She then attended Great Falls Commercial College.
She began working for Montgomery Wards in Great Falls, transferring to Lewistown in 1931. On Dec. 26, 1932, she was united in marriage to Harold Coolidge in Lewistown. She later worked as a service representative for Mountain States Telephone Co. until her retirement. Harold preceded her in death in 1981. She continued to live in Lewistown and on Aug. 6, 1990, she was united in marriage to Chester C. Cleland in Lewistown. He preceded her in death in 1992.

Gladys was active in the PTA and school activities when her children were young. She loved to play the piano and organ and growing flowers in her garden. She was very proud of her ability to spell and define any word in the English dictionary.

Gladys was a member of the United Methodist Church and Marie Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Her parents, two sons, Gary and Neil, one sister and two brothers all preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons: Harold Coolidge and his wife, Bette, and James Coolidge, both of Lewistown; two daughters: Mary Jo Crook and her husband, Dwayne of Lewistown and Karen Barnhart and her husband, John of Bozeman; two brothers: Wesley Lander and William Lander, both of Great Falls; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services for Gladys Coolidge Cleland will be Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. in Central Montana Memorial Gardens of Lewistown. Cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may make memorials to the Valle Vista Manor Alzheimer's Unit and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Walter B. Ehman
Walter B. Ehman, 74, of Baker, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at the Fallon Medical Complex following a brief illness.
He was born on April 4, 1924, the son of Edward and Barbara Meidinger Ehman on the Fallon Flats near Fallon. He attended schools in Fallon and Terry where he graduated from high school.

Walt was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and served until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. Walter was married to Merle Burgess in Terry on Sept. 14, 1950. He began his accounting career in Terry, later working in Glendive as an accountant field representative for the Production Credit Association. In 1963, they moved to Baker where Walt and Merle opened and operated the Baker Accounting and Insurance Service.

In 1966, he joined the Bank of Baker where he was vice president. In 1974, Walt became president of the Montana Bank in Baker and worked there until he retired in 1986. They continued to make Baker their home since that time. Walt enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, playing cards and most of all working in his wood shop.

Survivors include, his wife, Merle of Baker; two sons, Lt. Col. Curtis Ehman and his wife, Sandra of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Gregory Ehman and his wife, Karen of Katy, Texas; four grandchildren, Barbara, Karianne, Walt and Scott; and a very special grandnephew, Joey Hufford.

A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Stevenson's Funeral Home. A Funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. in the American Lutheran Church in Baker with Pastor Dave Olson and Kelly Sloan officiating. Burial will be on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sunset Gardens cemetery in Glendive. Stevenson Funeral Homes of Baker is in charge of the arrangements.

Michael A. Maycock
Funeral services for Michael A. Maycock, A 50 year old native of Campbell County, WY, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 16, 1998 at the New Life Wesleyan Church, Gillette, with Bishop Bill Rice of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducting. Grave dedication and burial with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #42 will follow at Mount Pisgah cemetery, Gillette with a reception at Cam-Plex after the burial. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at Wilson Funeral Home, Gillette. He died Friday, September 11, 1998 at his family's ranch near Gillette.
Mr. Maycock was born one of a set of twins to William P. and Audrey J. (Johnston) Maycock on April 3, 1948 in Gillette, WY. Being raised on the family ranch 25 miles west of Gillette, he attended country school until the 5th grade. He was a member of the 1964 undefeated state champion football team at Campbell County High School from which he graduated in 1966. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1970 with a BA degree in Agricultural Journalism, later earning his Juris Doctorate at the University of Wyoming in 1974.

He was a member of the WY National Guard serving in the Public Information Detachment as a photographer and journalist covering the traveling National Guard Band. In the fall of 1971, while attending law school, Mr. Maycock met his future wife. On September 15, 1972, he married Deborra 'Bobbi' Boif in Cheyenne, WY at the LDS Chapel. Following the birth of his first son, he was baptized a member of the LDS Church, being ordained to the office of Priest.

His law practice began in Gillette after being admitted to the Wyoming State Bar on September 11, 1974 and becoming a member of the American Bar Association. He practiced law at the firm of Burke, Daly, and Maycock, which succeeded Bill Watt's law practice. His expertise in oil and gas issues as well as estate planning was respected regionally. Eventually, the firm became known as Daly, Maycock, Anderson, and Taylor. In 1989, Mr. Maycock opened his own practice, Maycock Law Office, PC. He also served as Justice of the Peace from 1976-1982. Upon his retirement from that position, he was replaced by three new judges.

Mr. Maycock was elected in 1994 as Campbell County Attorney. During his tenure, he served on many boards including Campbell County Community Corrections Facility Admissions Board, the Sixth Judicial District Child Support Authority Board, and was president of the Pioneer Manor Foundation. He was proud of his office's accomplishments in the prosecution of child abuse offenders and other criminal cases. He was proud to be placed in the legal position to deal justly and fairly with trust of the community to make Gillette a safer place to live by keeping in mind the full impact of his decisions on others' lives.

Throughout his life, he devoted his time to his family ranching activities with his brothers, parents and aunt and uncle. More recently, he enjoyed ranching with his wife and children on Dead Horse Creek. Among his activities were hunting, golfing, observing wildlife, and managing the ranch. He loved his job, enjoyed his fellow workers, and looked forward to having grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Bobbi Maycock; 2 sons, Jeff and Brad Maycock; a daughter, Becky Maycock all of Gillette; his mother, Audrey Maycock, 2 brothers, William Maycock, Jr., his twin Mitchel Maycock all of Gillette; a sister, Pamela Coulter, Phoenix, AZ; 6 nephews and 8 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, William P. Maycock, SR. and grandmother, Mamie I. Maycock.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Michael A. Maycock Law Library Memorial and donations may be sent in care of Wilson Funeral Home, PO Box 734, Gillette, WY 82717.

Renae Maxine Wainscott
POWELL, Wyo. - Renae Maxine Wainscott, daughter of Kendy Siebert and Mike Wainscott, died of SIDS in the family home on Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998.
She was born in the Powell Hospital on March 31, 1998. After a 12-day stay in the NICU in Billings, she returned home the day before Easter.

She will be remembered as a very beautiful and happy baby, who always had a smile even when she was fussy. She touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her bright eyes and smiles will be missed by all of those who loved and cherished her.

Survivors include: her mother, Kendy Siebert, father, Mike Wainscott, and sister, Brianne Siebert, all of the family home; grandparents, Frank and Cherri Siebert of Powell, grandfather, Russel Wainscott; great-grandmothers, Peggy Pace of Powell, Myrtle Siebert of Tucson, Ariz.; uncles, Sam Fred and Evert Siebert of Powell; aunts, Suz Kobbe of Powell, Sandy Chevez of Byron, Jacque Fritz of Cody, Donna Shields of Torrington, Nita Wainscott of Greybull; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Maxine Wainscott; great-grandfathers, Bill Pace and Fred Siebert; uncle, Max Wainscott; and great-great-grandmother, Hazel Muller.

Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at the Union Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Hunter officiating. Burial to take place in Crown Hill cemetery.

Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Blaine Pruitt
GRANTS PASS, Ore. - William Blaine "Billy" Pruitt, 65, formerly of Big Timber, Mont., died Sept. 10, 1998, of a heart attack while climbing Three Fingered Jack Mountain near Sisters.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Beaver Meadows Guest Facilities, 25 miles south of Big Timber.

Tim Cline
WENATCHEE, Wash. - Timothy Alan Cline was born to Frances and Nelson (Doc) Cline on May 18, 1955, in Hardin, Mont. Tim passed away of natural causes on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998. He was 43 years old.
Tim grew up at St. Xavier, Mont., where he spent his early years fishing the Big Horn with his Grandpa Cline. The family moved to Billings in 1965 and Tim graduated from West High in 1973. He attended the University of Montana and later played the guitar and sang with the "Chosen Few" country band. He had a great love for music and wrote and recorded many songs. He later managed the electronics department at Radio Shack and Fred Schmid in Billings and Denver. Tim moved to Leavenworth, Wash., in 1995 and Wenatchee in 1997.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Doc Cline in 1988.

Tim is survived by his beloved mother and stepfather, Frances and Burlyn Raabe of Leavenworth; a brother, John Cline and sister-in-law, Yolanda of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Zena Jacox and brother-in-law, Bob of Billings; a sister, Susan Robinson and Milt Bergman, also of Billings; his aunt, Gladys of Wenatchee; and several nieces and nephews.

Tim is also survived by his special loving friend and companion, Judy Lynn of Wenatchee.

Memorial services will be held Monday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. at Heights Baptist Church, 383 Alkali Creek Road. A memorial may be made to Organ Transplant Services, 1959 Northeast Pacific, Box 356174, Seattle, WA 98195 "in memory of Tim Cline."

Beula Fay Cozzens
POWELL, Wyo. - Beula Fay Cozzens, age 76, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at the Powell Nursing Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at the LDS Church in Powell. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the LDS Church. Interment will follow service at Crown Hill cemetery.
