Anna was born Dec. 3, 1909, to David and Sophia Hergenrider, Germans who were living and farming in Unterwalten, Meinheart, Russia.

In 1912, traveling by wagon and then ship, the Hergenrider family came to the United States, passing through immigrations at Ellis Island between Nov. 11 and Nov. 13. Anna lived in Maywood, Ill., from November 1912 to May 1913. The family caused quite a sight in the Chicago train depot as they were migrating to the West to work in the fields of Wyoming and Montana. In 1916, the Hergenrider family moved to their own farm in Belfry.

Anna started school in Belfry in 1916, which was not easy as neither she nor any of the family spoke English. She graduated from the eighth grade in 1924.

Anna married Andrew Krum on Dec. 1, 1926. They lived with Andy's family for a time. Andrew and Anna celebrated 60 years of marriage in 1986.

Andrew and Anna lived and farmed in Belfry, Joliet and Edgar in Montana and in Wyoming. They lived in Fromberg from1950 until 1956, working for Lawerence Bauens. They then moved to Butte and worked for Spangler Dairy. After leaving the Spangler Dairy they moved to Opportunity and Warm Springs, where Anna worked in the kitchen and retired in 1974. They settled in Anaconda in 1965. Anna moved to Missoula to the Country Home Estates in 1996.

Anna spent the majority of her life raising and caring for 10 children, bearing her first at the age of 17 and her last at 43. She gave each one special care and attention.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bridger, St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Butte, Redeemer Lutheran of Anaconda and First Lutheran Church of Missoula.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Krum, father and mother David and Sophia Hergenrider, brother David Hergenrider, sisters Emma Lehman and Olga Kraft, daughters-in-law Hannah Krum and Audrey Krum, sons-in-law Benedick Dauenhauer and Wes Dowling, as well as her grandson Mike Krum.

Anna is survived by her 10 loving children: George Krum of Billings; Raymond Krum and wife Evelyn of Laurel; Rosella Dowling of Butte; Fred Krum of Edmonds, Wash.; Delbert Krum and wife Lisa of Missoula; Elnora Evans and husband James of Tahoe City, Calif.; Gerald Krum and wife Carol of Portland, Ore.; Jetta Moon of Missoula; Loretta Chambers and husband Robert Jr. of Missoula; and Tim Krum of Missoula. Anna also is survived by her four brothers, Alex, Johnny and wife Edna, Alfred and wife May Belle, and Rudy and wife Clara; one sister, Lydia Schlecht; a sister-in-law, Lydia Hergenrider; 27 grandchildren; along with numerous great-grandchildren, GREAT-GREAT-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Hospice of Missoula, who cared for Anna; Redeemer Lutheran of Anaconda; or First Lutheran of Missoula.
