DENTON - Lillian T. Ronish, 69, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at her home of cancer.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Hillcrest cemetery in Denton. The Cloyd Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge.

Genevieve A. Bakken
GLASGOW - Genevieve A. Bakken, 88, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow with interment in the Highland cemetery in Nekoma, N.D.

Donna Mae Behlow
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Donna Mae Behlow, 68, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at her home in Sheridan of natural causes.
Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Charles E. Schaak
Charles E. Schaak, age 67, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at home.
Charlie was born March 7, 1931, at Hardin, the son of Erdman and Pauline Maier Schaak.

He attended schools in Big Horn County, including the Buckskin Mission, St. Xavier Public, and graduated from Hardin High School in 1948. After graduation he worked at Sawyer Stores Inc. until the Korean Conflict when he joined the U.S. Navy. During his four years in the Navy he was awarded five service medals with two citations for meritorious service.

Upon discharge he went to work for the Great Northern Railroad as an agent-telegrapher. He worked at many stations throughout Montana. In 1970, when the Great Northern merged into the Burlington Northern he began working in the Billings-Laurel area, retiring in 1991.

Since retirement Charlie has dedicated his time to community projects. He was instrumental in securing funds and donations to pave the parking area at Cobb Field. He was a charter member of ZooMontana and gave freely toward their fund drives. Charlie was past vice-chairman of the North Park Taskforce, and past president of the Sunnyside Water Users Association. He was heavily involved with the Amend Park Soccer Complex Committee, devoting his free time toward raising funds and materials for its completion.

Charlie was a charter member of ZooMontana, VFW Post 1634, USS Bremerton Alumni Association. and Morse Telegraph Club. He had received awards from ZooMontana, City of Billings, Bright n' Beautiful and The Sunnyside Water Association.

He was preceded in death by both parents and sister, Agnes Schnieder.

Survivors include brothers, Arron and Ray of Hardin, Rueben of Billings and Eugene of Redding, Calif.; sisters, Delores Schuppe and Berniece Manuel of Billings and Esther Kehler of St. Xavier.

Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W. with Military honors at the Sunset Memorial Gardens following the memorial service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to ZooMontana, 2100 S. Shiloh Road, Billings, MT 59106 and Big Sky Hospice, Suite 205, 3021 Sixth Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.

Wesley Adolph
ROUNDUP - Wesley Adolph, 69, of Roundup, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at the Deaconess Medical Center in Billings after a heart attack.
Wesley was born in Roundup on March 2, 1929, the only son of August and Ida Adolph. He graduated from Roundup High School and attended the College of Great Falls. In 1954, Wesley married Lois Garmann, and they farmed and ranched north of Roundup.

Wesley loved music and was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. The beautiful flowers he grew grace many areas in Roundup.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; sons, Rick (Debi) and Bryan (Kathy) of Roundup; daughter, Sheri of Laurel; sisters, Almeda Moore and Darlene Kilby of Roundup; stepbrother, Herb Ottman of Billings; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Wesley was preceded in death by his son, Robbie; his parents; stepmom, Margaret Adolph; and sisters, Delores Rose and Adeline Bohlman.

As he requested, two songs will be sung in his memory at the Roundup Methodist Church service on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. Following a luncheon at the church, a graveside memorial service will be held at the Roundup City cemetery at 2 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

Memorials may be made to the Roundup Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home, I.C.U. wing at Deaconess Medical Center, or the Northern Rockies Cancer Center.

Pauline Quarles Wagner
Pauline Quarles Wagner, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, in Billings. Born in Davis, Okla., on July 10, 1917, Pauline was the daughter of Polly (Greene) and George Quarles.
Pauline was a 1934 graduate of Billings Senior High School and married Claire Austin Wagner in Billings in 1937. They lived most of their 60 years of marriage in Billings, but also lived in Roundup and Red Lodge, and in Kirkland and Benton City, Wash. In 1953, Claire and Pauline began the family's plumbing and heating business. Pauline managed the office of the company, Wagner's Mechanical, Inc., until 1978 when she retired. She was active as secretary of the Primrose Book Club and served as the national chaplain of the Women's Auxiliary of the National Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors.

Survivors include her husband, Claire; daughter, Penny Peabody and husband, Jerry, Mercer Island, Wash.; son, Mike Wagner and wife, Barbara, Billings; grandchildren, Pamela, Dan, David and Holly Wagner, all of Billings; step-granddaughters, Mary Jane Barnett, Mercer Island, and Victoria Hansen, Issaquah, Wash.; step-great-grandchildren, Madeline, Doug Jr., and Helen Ann Hansen, all of Issaquah; and a brother, John B. Quarles of Spokane, Wash.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Dahl Funeral Chapel with interment at Mountview cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to Big Sky Hospice, Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107.

Kenneth Richard Hossfeld
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kenneth Richard Hossfeld, 89, passed away on Aug. 3, 1998. This world dealt him a tough hand in life but he played it with all he had. He was born on March 24, 1909, in Daglum, N.D., the only son of Gus and Ida Hossfeld. Along with his three sisters, the family moved to Rapelje, Mont., in 1920.
In 1938, he married Florence Gee. Their life together consisted of raising cows, and wheat, and kids. There was always a little time for square dances, playing cards with friends, rodeos and watching the boys play basketball. In 1965, a stroke forced them to give up life on the ranch but he redirected his efforts to his garden and flowers in Billings.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters (Doris Bardwell and Fern Lester), and his firstborn son (Gary). His legacy remains. His wife of nearly 60 years, Florence of Kennewick; two sons, Ron Hossfeld and wife, Linda of Wyola, Mont., and Dennis (Wink) Hossfeld and wife, Jeanette of Absarokee, Mont.; two daughters, Carol Stewart and husband, Jack, and Dawn West and husband, Dale of Kennewick; sister, Margaret Tirkeldsen and husband, Nels of Billings; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews and friends who knew what it meant to stay true in good times and bad.

Kenneth spent his final five months in Kennewick but his death takes him back to Stillwater Country that he called home. Services to honor this tough cowboy will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Chapel, 708 East 2nd Ave. N., Columbus, Mont. Burial will follow at the Mountain View cemetery. Viewing will be at the Smith West Chapel of Billings on Thursday evening. Donations in his memory may be given to Shriners Children's Hospital, 911 W. 5th, Spokane, WA 99210 or the Special K Ranch, East of Columbus, Columbus, MT, or a charity of your choice.

Johnnie Schultz
Johnnie Schultz, 57, of Billings, died Aug. 3, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Braddock, N.D., the son of Gottfred and Emma Becker Schultz. He attended Senior High, enlisted in the Army, and returned to Billings where he married Laurie Payne.
Survivors include sons, Mike (Rhona) and Dan (Karla); daughter, Lonnie Probst; brothers, Alvin (Edna) and Arnold (Danella); and sisters, Pauline Lei and Florence (Bob) Miller; and four grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place at Cremation or Funeral Gallery. Memorial will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Beginnings Ministry Center, 145 Alderson.

Leon M. Wolcott 'Lee'
MERCER ISLAND, Wash. - Leon M. Wolcott, "Lee," died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at his home in Mercer Island.
Lee was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Elkton, S.D., and served in the US Navy, attending the Submarine School in New London, Conn. He married Thelma L. Sternhagen on April 18, 1942, in Butte, Mont. He graduated from the Montana Institute of the Bible in 1973, and worked in public relations at the Big Sky Bible College.

In addition to his wife, Thelma, he is survived by his daughters, Karen (Kenneth) Wagner of Seattle and Colleen Wolcott of Red Lodge, Mont.; and sons, Kelly (Marsha) Wolcott of Arlee, Mont., and Corey (Darlene) Wolcott of Silesia, Mont.

Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Frenchtown Community Church with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula, Mont. Memorials may be sent to Rocky Mountain Bible Mission for Camp Utmost Building Program, P.O. Box 845, Lolo, MT 59847.

Ethel E. 'Snookie' McBurney
LEWISTOWN - Ethel E. "Snookie" McBurney, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at the Central Montana Medical Center.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at the Creel Funeral Chapel in Lewistown.

Doyle E. Hamilton
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Doyle E. Hamilton, 79, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at the V.A. Medical Center.
Viewing will be until 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 6 and 7, at Ferries Funeral Home in Sheridan. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the Sheridan Municipal cemetery.

Paul Corcoran
PLENTYWOOD - Paul Corcoran, 70, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at the Sheridan County Civic Center with interment in the Plentywood Memorial cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood is in charge.

Bernice Bagley
BOWMAN, N.D. - Bernice Bagley, 79, formerly of Baker, Mont., died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at her home in Bowman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with interment in the family lot in the Tuttle cemetery in Rhame.

Pauline Redinger
Pauline Redinger, of Billings, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998.
Pauline was born on May 14, 1904, in Old Leipszig, N.D., the third of three children born to Adam and Louisa Baesler. Her childhood was spent on a farm where she learned to love growing things and developed her extensive knowledge of gardening.

As a young woman she moved to Bismarck, N.D., where she was employed as a nurses aid at St. Alexis Hospital.

She returned to Old Leipzig in 1923 to marry Emanuel Redinger on Feb. 4 of that year. The young couple moved to Hebron, N.D., in 1925 where Mr. Redinger was employed.

In 1944, the family moved to Billings where she was employed at the Northern Pacific Restaurant and eventually the Rex Laundry, finally retiring in 1953.

During her lifetime she and her husband took in and helped many, many friends and relatives. Her heart and her home were always large enough to make room for "just one more."

Pauline gained quite a reputation as a great German cook. Her kuchen, borscht, and nephla were always in demand by friends and family alike.

In 1954, Pauline and Emanuel built their "dream home" on Selvig Lane where she resided until 1997 when she took up residence at Valley Health Care Center.

She was a wonderful loving wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Doris Redinger; three grandsons, Steve Redinger and his wife, Susie, and Douglas Redinger, all of Billings, Jeffrey of Bothell, Wash.; and one granddaughter, Sandra Yager and husband, Bob of Cody, Wyo.; and five great-grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel; her brother, Gotfried Baesler; her sister, Matilda Tetzlaff; and a grandson, John Thomas Redinger.

We're all going to miss your delicious German dishes, Mom. Maybe you can cook some of them for the angels.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Congregational Church with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be sent to Pilgrim Congregational Church, 409 S. 36th, Billings, MT 59101 or Lutheran Social Services of Montana, 1601 Lewis Ave., Billings, MT 59102. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Alderson Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Louise Dalton Banks
COWLEY, Wyo. - Louise Dalton Banks, 84, of Cowley, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at West Park Hospital in Cody.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Cowley LDS Chapel with interment in the Cowley cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge.
