MaeBelle Paddock
GREAT FALLS - MaeBelle Paddock, 69 of Great Falls, passed away at her home. The daughter of Smith M. and May D. Paddock, she was born April 1, 1929, in Dillon. She graduated from Billings Senior High in 1947. She attended EMC for two years before graduating from Greeley, Colo., State Teachers College in 1951. MaeBelle taught school in Billings, Elko, Nev., Dillon, and Great Falls, where she retired after 40 years.
She was past president of the Great Falls Teachers Association, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Rebekah Lodge, and Delta Kappa Gamma. MaeBelle was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She had no children of her own but was a second mother to her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her mother, Mae D. Paddock; sister, Roberta (James) Lauwers; nieces, Sharon (Earl) Henderson, Catherine (Robert) Culbertson; nephew, Richard (Cathy) Lauwers; great-nieces, Heidi and Megan Henderson and Julie Lauwers; and great-nephews, Daniel (Trish) Lauwers, Jason Lauwers, and Joshua and David Culbertson, all of Billings; aunts, Margaret Naylor of Farmington, N.M., Erma Pace of Provo, Utah, and Phyllis Burwell of Polaris; as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Croxford and Sons Funeral Home, Great Falls. Friends may gather at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist, Alderson Chapel for Graveside services 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Dana Robinson
BAKER - Dana Robinson, age 42, of Baker, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at the Billings Deaconess Hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1956, at Baker, the son of Earl and Evelyn DeGrand Robinson.
He grew up and attended schools in Baker, graduating from Baker High School in 1974. He worked two jobs during high school: Valley Motor after school and the Conoco station in the evenings. On July 24, 1976, Dana was married to Raenette Bruski at Baker. Dana continued to work at Valley after high school and in 1985 became the manager. He had worked there since that time.
Dana was a member of the volunteer fire department and enjoyed the time he spent working and the friendships made. He loved to fish and took several fishing trips to Canada. Dana also enjoyed golfing and hunting.
Dana was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Baker, the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Parish Council. His commitment and pride in the community were evident in his work at the store. The love of his life was his wife and children. He enjoyed his family and friends and you could always find the coffee pot on at the back of the store. No matter how busy he was, Dana always had time to visit and share some laughs.
Survivors include his wife, Raenette; a son Jarrod; a daughter, Kari, all of the family home; a stepfather, Cliff Hurlbert; two brothers, Chauncy Robinson of Great Falls and LuWayne "Wink" Robinson of Billings; three sisters: Maria Varner, Lynne Miller and Rochelle Conroy, all of Baker. He was preceded in death by his father in 1970; his mother and brother, Carlos, both in 1975; and his grandparents.
A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at the Stevenson's Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at the St. John's Catholic Church in Baker. Burial will follow in the St. John's Catholic cemetery in Baker. Stevenson Funeral Homes of Baker and Ekalaka are in charge of the arrangements.

James Romine
HARDIN - James Romine, 80, a true son of Sarpy, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, at the Big Horn County Memorial Nursing Home in Hardin.
He was born July 1, 1918, to James (Sid) and Emma Shimer Romine on the family homestead on Sarpy. He attended school at Sarpy Creek country school and graduated from Hardin High School in 1936. He worked on the family ranch before entering the U.S. Navy. He married Elizabeth Job on Sept. 23, 1943, in Billings. The couple moved to different military bases until he was sent to the Pacific Theater. He achieved the rank of 2nd class petty officer and was a member of a flight crew on a PBM Mariner, a flight engineer and gunner attached to Squadron 22 in the Pacific Campaign.
Following the War, Jim and Betty returned to the family ranch, where they lived and worked until 1997 when health problems forced them to move to Hardin. They also built the Spring Creek Tavern in 1974 and operated it until 1990.
Jim was a member of the Sheridan, Wyo., Elks Lodge and a member of the Hardin VFW. He enjoyed fishing, going to Rodeos, his trips to the Denver Stock Show and visiting with his many friends and acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and a son, Darrel.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Hardin; two sons, Larry (Joyce) of Bridger and Pete (Veronica) of Sarpy; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
"We will miss the mischievous glint in those blue eyes and that quick smile, so long DAD."
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in the Custer Battlefield National cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Big Horn County Memorial Nursing Home, Hardin.

Ruth C. Flanagan
BASIN, Wyo. - Ruth C. Flanagan, 96, of Basin, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Thermopolis Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Basin cemetery. Atwood Family Funeral Directors Inc. are in charge.

Robert Foote Jr.
LAME DEER - Robert Foote Jr., 39, of Lame Deer, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, in the Billings Deaconess Medical Center, following a prolonged illness.
He was born May 23, 1959, in Crow Agency, a son of Robert Foote Sr. and Edna Red Fox Seminole. He grew up in Ashland and attended the St. Labre Mission Schools.
Robert was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards and listening to music. During his dialysis treatments, he organized many fund-raisers to generate funds for group field trips.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Edna Red Fox Seminole of Lame Deer; four brothers, Winslow White Crane of Billings, Vincent White Crane of Lame Deer, Verlin Foote of Busby and Michael Foote of Billings; two sisters, Connie Wolcott of Billings and Eva Mae Brien of Lame Deer. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Rosary and services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday in the St. Labre Social Room. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in the St. Labre Mission Chapel. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mission cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Paul Leonard Goulet
Paul Leonard Goulet, age 63, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Paul was born on June 23, 1935, in Concrete, N.D., the son of Mary and Paul Arthur Goulet of Walhalla, N.D. Paul grew up in Walhalla with his brother, David, and his sister, Ellen. He married LaVonne Marcotte on July 26, 1958, in New Rockford, N.D., and moved to Billings in 1967. Paul was employed with School District No. 2 until he had open heart surgery and retired on disability in 1993.
Paul is survived by his wife, LaVonne; his children: Mitch of Polson, Karla of Anaheim, Calif., Kristi of Corpus Christie, Texas, Tim of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Shawn of Billings; and his grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Cassie, Joshua, Noelle and Trent.
A vigil service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Smith Downtown Chapel. A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross cemetery.

Ruth Hansen
SIDNEY - Ruth Hansen, 97, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, at the Sidney Health Center-Extended Care Facility.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Chapel at the Sidney Health Center-Extended Care Facility. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

Gary Theodore Leischner
On Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, surrounded by his family and loved ones, Gary Leischner was finally relieved of the pain and agony from which he had suffered for so long.
Gary was born Sept. 24, 1937, the son of Ted and Vi (Bjornson) Leischner. He lived his entire life in Billings, with the exception of two tours of duty in the army and commuting to work on the Alaska Pipeline. Gary worked for various construction companies as a heavy equipment technician and welder. As a result of his long bout with cancer, he retired in July from Empire Steel Mfg.
His favorite pastime and pleasure was parking his motor home on the bank of Martinsdale Reservoir and spending his weekend fishing and visiting with friends and family.
Gary is lovingly survived by his best friend and companion, Terry Achten of Billings. Gary also had a very special relationship with Terry's granddaughter, Mandy.
Survivors also include his father, Ted Leischner of Checkerboard; son, Michael Leischner (Coby) of Riverton, Wyo.; daughter, Cristine Chilton (Todd) of Billings; brother, Wayne Leischner (Millie) of Billings; sister, Joyce Rohrback (Allen) of Martinsdale; grandchildren, Mandy, Tyree, Tatyana, Seth and Lindsey; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Violet, and an infant son, Theodore.
Memorials may be sent to United Veterans Council.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned as per his wishes.
A gathering for friends and family is planned at the Billings Labor Temple at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.

Marlene Joan Meidinger
BEACH, N.D. - Marlene Joan (Chaska) Meidinger, 64, of Beach, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, in Dickinson.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Chapel of Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home and 6-6:55 p.m. Tuesday at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. A Rosary/Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the church with interment in St. John's cemetery.

Frank Osborne
SIDNEY - Frank Osborne, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, at the Sidney Health Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Lonsdale United Methodist Church with interment in the Sidney cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

Hazel E. Ott
In loving memory of Hazel E. Ott
Born May 18, 1927. She died peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 6, 1998, in Plains, Mont.
She had 11 children, 32 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Eva Wilson; her husband, Joseph Ott; her son, Mark; and her brother, William Herbert Wilson.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, at 10 a.m., Evangelical United Methodist Church, 345 Broadwater Ave., Billings, Mont.

Joseph Boyd Smith
GLENDIVE - Joseph Boyd Smith, 64, of Glendive, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, in Billings.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home with interment in the Dawson County cemetery.

Manard Torgerson
PLENTYWOOD - Manard Torgerson, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Big Sky Baptist/Brethren Church in Froid with interment in the Medicine Lake cemetery. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge.

John B. Ward
John B. Ward, 66, of Billings, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 1998. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanette Ward.
John was born in Anaconda, Nov. 9, 1932. He married Jeanette Thompson, Oct. 13, 1951. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his son, Dan of Idaho, and daughters, Debbie of Billings, Coleen of Great Falls, Sheila of Las Vegas, and Kathleen of Laurel. John was the youngest of 12 children.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family and friends will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist, Alderson Chapel with interment in Holy Cross cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch.

Elizabeth Berg
LEWISTOWN - Elizabeth Berg, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, at the Valle Vista Manor.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the Lewistown City cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary Sue Hopper
Mary Sue Hopper, 74 of Billings, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 8, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital.
Survivors include her two daughters, Angie Hopper of Billings and Linda Hood of Boston, Mass.; her brother Tommy Gunter and his wife Jamye of Orangeville, Calif.; her sisters, Ann Smithhart and her husband Waddie of Fair Oaks, Calif., Betty Rash of San Saba, Texas, and Vernice Sargent of Lampasas, Texas; her two grandchildren, Libby and Bracey Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Howell - Doran Mortuary in San Saba, Texas. Interment will follow in the San Saba City cemetery. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Alderson Chapel has charge of local arrangements.
