Adrian "Les" Chandler
GLASGOW - Adrian "Les" Chandler, 38, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, of renal failure at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Bell Chapel in Glasgow, and services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow. Interment will be at Highland cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Ann Christison
Patricia Ann Christison, 68, of Billings passed away Dec. 4, 1998, at the Western Manor Care Center.
She was born in Billings October 15, 1930, the daughter of Alanzo R. and May Edna (Moessner) Parsons. She was raised in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High in 1948.
On Nov. 5, 1949, she married Wayne Christison in Billings and he preceded her in death May 24, 1994.
Her and her husband owned and operated Chris-Ann Floral from 1952 to1980. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother and always enjoyed her family. She sang at many funerals and weddings and was always in the church choir. She loved to sing.
Survivors include her mother, May Parsons of Billings and two sons, Clay W. Christison of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and Leonard (Barbara) R. Christison of Laurel; three grandsons, Christopher and Justin of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and Shawn in Laurel; and one great granddaughter, Chelsie Christison.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Montana Chapter, P.O.

Foster G. Harris
BAKER - Foster G. Harris, 64, of Baker passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker following a long illness.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1934, the son of Foster and Julia (Zura) Harris at Muskegon, Mich. He grew up and attended schools in Muskegon, graduating from high school there. Foster enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. During his eight-year hitch, he served two years in Japan.
While Foster was stationed at the Base in Miles City, he met Lola Schweigert. They were married on July 6, 1957, at Plevna. He was later transferred to South Carolina where he was discharged.
Foster attended Barber School in Fargo, N.D. They moved to Baker where he began barbering at the Al & Foster's Barber Shop. In 1969 he took a position as cashier for the Baker Montana National Bank. In 1973 he accepted the position of President at the Montana National Bank of Absarokee. The family returned to Baker in 1976 where Foster owned and operated the Harris Ace Hardware Store. He served on the City Council for four years and later worked as the City Clerk and Treasurer for eight years.
In 1994 Foster retired and continued to make Baker his home. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, keeping up with the local sports and having coffee with his friends. He was a former Boy Scout leader of Troop No. 229, past Master of Sandstone Lodge No. 84, and former secretary-treasurer of the Lutheran Church Council and a member of the American Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 35. Foster enjoyed planting trees out at the farm, landscaping the yard, and feeding the wild birds. He dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed following the grandchildren around to all their sports events.
Survivors include his wife, Lola of Baker; two daughters; Debi Schillinger and her husband, Jim of Baker and Roxi Walker and her husband, Bill of Bozeman; two brothers; Robert J. Harris of Garland, Texas and Edward L. Harris of Muskegon, Mich.; two sisters; Mary Ann Farnquist of Muskegon, Mich. and Judith Gilmore of Key Largo, Fla.; seven grandchildren; Brandy, Jace, Shann, Teneea, Tanyon, Payton and Joe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Withrow.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Stevenson's Funeral Home in Baker. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. in the American Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran cemetery in Plevna. Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker is in charge of the arrangements.

Bill Hibbert
PLENTYWOOD - Bill Hibbert, 70, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at his daughter's home in Sidney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Fulkerson Memorial Chapel in Plentywood. Cremation will follow with private interment to be held at a later date. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood in charge of arrangements.

George Holecek
LAUREL - Stockman and legislator George Holecek died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, in Laurel at the age of 97.
The Son of Karel and Katrina Holecek, he was born April 11, 1901, in South Wilmington, Ill. With his parents and siblings he moved to a farm near Burns, Kan., in 1908, to a homestead in Petroleum County southeast of Winnett, in 1913 and to a ranch near Boyd in 1936. He and his brothers Will and John moved to Laurel in 1964.
Mr. Holecek and his brothers were prominent Shorthorn cattle breeders in southern Montana and were active in the Montana Shorthorn Cattle Breeders Association, Mr. Holecek serving as president of that organization from Carbon County.
Mr. Holecek was also active in Democratic politics and served in the Montana House of Representatives from Carbon County.
Mr. Holecek was a long-time member of AF&AM Carbon Lodge 65, Joliet. The last of his generation, Mr. Holecek is survived by nieces Mary Finch, Carriere, Miss., JoAnn Goss, Tulsa, Okla., and Marjorie Graves, San Rafael, Calif., and nephews Harley Holecek, St. Louis, Mo, Russell Holecek, Boulder, Colo., and Wayne Holecek, McPherson, Kan., and their descendants.
Cremation has taken place & memorial services will be announced at a later date. Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel was in charge of arrangements.

Donald J. "Don" Larson
SIDNEY - Funeral Services for Donald J. "Don" Larson, age 79, of Sidney will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at the Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney. Burial will be in the Sidney cemetery under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.
Don was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Sidney to parents Chris and Bertha Larson. He grew up on the family homestead in the Brorson Community where he attended schools. Don later attended Sidney High School where he graduated with the class of 1938. Don attended Auctioneering School in Sioux City, Iowa; He returned to Sidney where he farmed, worked campaigns for Holly Sugar and for NP Transfer. On March 1, 1947, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Kilen at the Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive. They made their home in Sidney. Don later worked with Harry Dombrosky as a plumber for several years. Later Don worked as a janitor for the Sidney Junior High School before transferring to the senior high where he retired as head janitor.
Don was a devoted husband and father. He especially loved to go fishing. Don also enjoyed cooking caramel rolls and crocheting. He enjoyed all the tie spent at Quillings Market visiting. Don loved animals and every animal in the neighborhood knew where to go to find a meal.
Don died early Sunday morning, Dec. 27, 1998, at the Sidney Health Center in Sidney.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of Sidney; a son, Monte and his wife Rinda of Miles City; a daughter, Deb Tonn and her husband Lance of Miles City; eight grandchildren, Angie, Shane, Kindra, Eric, Lance, Terell, Chelsea and Drew; two brothers, Merlyn Larson of Sidney; and Gerald Larson of Sturgis, S.D.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.

Charlotte MacDonald
GLASGOW - Charlotte MacDonald, 74, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, of natural causes at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Bell Chapel with interment at Highland cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Miller Sr.
BROADUS - Harold Miller Sr., 78, died Dec. 26, 1998, at his home in Broadus.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, in the St. David's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Valley View cemetery.

Jazmin Rain Morning
CROW AGENCY -Jazmin Rain Morning, four-month-old daughter of Paul Morning Sr. and Fairalee Williamson, died Dec. 25, 1998, in the Crow Agency IHS Hospital.
She was born Aug. 23, 1998, in Crow Agency.
Survivors include her parents of Crow Agency; three brothers, Juidici Williamson of Crow Agency, Paul Morning Jr. and Michael Morning of Billings; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Garland Williamson, Dwayne Bixby of Hardin and her great grandparents, Mae House of Black Lodge, Lorraine Williamson of Crow Agency and Henrietta Pretty on Top of Lodge Grass, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m Tuesday, Dec. 29, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Crow Agency cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Charlene A. Nomee
LODGE GRASS - Charlene A. Nomee, 57, of Lodge Grass went to be with her Lord on Dec. 25, 1998, in the Billings St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1941, in Crow Agency, a daughter of Charles Jefferson Sr. and Bernice Pretty Weasel. She attended schools in Crow Agency and Lodge Grass, later receiving her GED certificate. She attended the United Tribes School in Bismarck, N.D., concentrating on business studies. She returned to the reservation and worked as a secretary for various programs on the Crow Reservation.
Charlene married Robert Nomee on Sept. 17, 1979, in Sheridan, Wyo., and the couple made their home in Lodge Grass.
Her religious beliefs were her life. She gave her life back to the LORD on Jan. 29, 1979, and served with her husband as a co-pastor of the Lodge Grass Miracle Church from 1979 through 1985. In 1985, the couple became full-time evangelistic ministers, traveling throughout the United States and Canada passing the word of God. They returned to Lodge Grass in 1989 to continue their pastorship of the Holy Ghost Believers Church. Her talents were often requested to pray for people.
Charlene enjoyed crafts, especially jewelry. Her pride and joy was taking care of her grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Lodge Grass; three daughters, Felicia (Shane) Plain Woman, Naomi (Bryon III) Rogers and Tashalei Nomee of Lodge Grass; her mother, Bernice Jefferson of Lodge Grass; a special grandson, Treston Plain Woman; nine sisters, Dorthea (Victor) Dust, Maxine Jefferson, Marjorie Jefferson, Karen Jefferson, Sherry Jefferson, Jackie (Larry) Blacksmith and Zona Dust of Lodge Grass, Cheryl (Bruce) Yellowtail of Wyola and Lee Ann (Emmett) Old Bull of Crow Agency; 16 brothers, Ben (Ruby) Jefferson, Albert (Deloris) Bull Horse and Gavin (Donna) Jefferson of Crow Agency, Mike (Alferdine) Takes Enemy of Hardin, Tommy Takes Enemy and Jerry (Virjama) Pretty Weasel of Crow Agency, John (Jessalyn) Jefferson, Daniel (Regina) Takes Enemy and Franklin (Verna) Jefferson of Hardin, Stephen Jefferson and Tim (Edwina) Jefferson of Lodge Grass, Robert (Frances) Takes Enemy of Ft. Smith, Bradford (Carol) Takes Enemy of Cascade, Jonathan (Trudy) Takes Enemy of Wash., and James Takes Enemy of Casper, Wyo.; her adopted parents, Maggie Curly Rider of Canada, Frances Bends, Sammy and Priscilla Black Bird of Lodge Grass, Elmer and Delma Jean Yarlott of Benteen; two step daughters, Bertha (Leland) Stewart and Charletta Old Bear; 12 adopted daughters, Destiny White Clay, Jennifer Shane and Kari Medicine Top of Crow Agency, Melinda Dawes, Barbara Gardner and Jennifer Bull Chief of Lodge Grass, Cammie Bird Hat of Pryor, Jessica Seven Stars of Okla., Alfretta Jefferson of St. Xavier, Rebecca Stovall and Carrie Yellowtail of Billings and Lucellia Black Plume of Canada; 16 adopted sons, Dewayne (Anita) Bull Chief of Hardin, Clinton (Sherry) House and JD (Lena) Bull Chief of Lodge Grass, Darrin (Natasha) Curly Rider and Darcy (Ivy) Knife of Canada, Manuel Goody, Robbie Robinson and Peter Orneles of Ariz., Edward (Kay) Old Bear, Wesley Sage and Paul King of Okla., Aaron (Samantha) Masaskapo, Bernard Hoss (JoAnn) Jack, Joe (Betina) Chief Moon, Darcy Calf Child of Canada and Chuncy Friday of Wyo.; five adopted brothers, Gene Gone of Ft. Belknap; 11 aunts, Judith (Delbert) Big Lake, Melissa (Wesley) Falls Down, Ione Jefferson, of Lodge Grass, Josephine Pretty Weasel, Evelyn Old Elk, Sarah Shane, Thelma (Sam) Birdin Ground and Mary Hoops of Crow Agency, Connie (Bruce) Russell of Canada, Kate Pretty Weasel, and Nathel Jefferson of Hardin; five uncles, Calvin (Melvine) Jefferson, Warren (Mina) Jefferson Sr. and Sam (Marjorie) Hoops of Lodge Grass, Jerry Hoops of Crow Agency and Ben Jefferson of Ft. Smith, her grandmother, Mary Carpenter of Hardin; five step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Crow Agency Multi Purpose Building. Interment will follow in the Lodge Grass cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Wayne Edward Stone
COALINGA, Calif. - Wayne Edward Stone, 35, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at the Coalinga Regional Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment at Custer County cemetery.

Hubert 'Hubie' M. Walton
LAUREL - Hubie Walton passed away at The Evergreen Care Center in Laurel on Wednesday evening, Dec. 23, 1998. He was born on Oct. 21, 1914, to Marshall and Georgia (Hurliss) Walton. He attended Laurel schools and graduated in 1935. He made his name and livelihood as a butcher beginning under the apprenticeship of Walter Libecap, father of one of his lifelong friends, Donnie Libecap. He moved on to the Boys Market for a few years before going to work for Henry Schessler at Schessler's Food. Hubie, along with his brother, Ken, was considered one of the best meat cutters in Laurel. He knew his customer's favorite cuts, and they knew they would not be disappointed at meal time.
In his youth, due to his disability of M.D. (Muscular Dystrophy), he was unable to be a full participant in athletic events, but this did not stop him from being an avid sports fan. He was extremely knowledgeable about baseball and followed the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves.
On July 5, 1939, he married Helen Laukka. They were together for 32 years before her sudden illness and death in January, 1972.
Hubie is survived by two sons, R. Marshall Walton of Seattle, Wash., and Steven of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Claudia Morley of Helena, and Susan Noel of Missoula; a niece, Sally Ridl of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary, one half sister, Nora Pettit, and five brothers, Scott, twins, Floyd and Lloyd, Ken and John Walton.
Memorial Services are planned for Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1931 Broadwater Ave., Billings, MT 59102.

Helen Boerke Watson
LIVINGSTON - Our mom, grandma, and great grandma Helen Boerke Watson of Livingston, passed away in Billings, on Dec. 22, 1998. She had been visiting in Billings when in late September she suffered a hip fracture and the resulting complications.
Helen was born in Livingston, Aug. 8, 1902 - the fourth child of Henry and Bertha Frischke Boerke. She was a life-long resident of Livingston and graduated from Park High School in 1920. She had been living at the Frontier in Livingston since 1994.
She had worked and retired from the BN railroad offices in Livingston and had also worked in the County Treasurer's office there. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Livingston.
She is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Diane of Langley, Wash., and daughter Patty Ricci of Billings. Her grandchildren are: Jamie and Katie Helene Watson of Langley, Wash.; Jan (Mrs. John Roberts) of Malta; Roberta (Mrs. Dan Depner) of Spokane, Wash.; Karla (Mrs. Rick Larrabee) of Philomath, Ore.; Robert M. Watson of Shelton, Wash.; Jonathon Watson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mary Grove of Langley, Wash.; Charles Watson of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; Laurie Hile of Everett, Wash. She leaves her 23 great-grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews in California and Maryland. Helen was predeceased by her father when she was 12, her mother when she was 18, her two sisters and her brother, her husband Robert in 1981, her grandson Dave Ricci in Dec. 1992, and her son-in-law Cesare (Joe) Ricci in 1997.
At 96 she had outlived and missed many dear to her but she still had friends who were able to visit and call and reminisce with her. We surely want those of you who knew of Helen's mishap and sent notes, cards and phoned - just how comforting and appreciated you are. All the wishes and news were communicated to her and brought pleasure.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be planned for a later date in Livingston.
