D.V. 'Bud' Hutchinson
After a short battle with cancer, D.V. "Bud" Hutchinson, age 78, passed away at the home of his daughter surrounded by his family. Bud was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Sneads, Fla., the son of William and Molly Hutchinson. He was raised in Chattachoochee and moved to Montana in 1947.
He married Jane L. Dick on Sept. 13, 1947, in Bainbridge, Ga. They returned to Montana and made their home in Billings. He worked for Arnold Graf Masonry for approximately 30 years as a hod carrier. He then worked for Empire Lathe and Plaster, Ray Bunn and Chuck Robinson. He was a member of the Labor Union Local No. 98 for 50 years.
He loved to hunt, fish and took great pride in his yard and garden. He especially loved to plant tomatoes and cucumbers. Anyone who came to visit on their way out always felt his generosity as he said help yourself to whatever you want out of the garden. He was also willing to give a helping hand to family and friends whenever they were in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters, all who lived in Florida.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dev (Connie) Hutchinson, David Hutchinson, Jerry Reiter; five daughters, Myral (Phil) Yanchisin, Louise (Mike) Schmaing, Patsy (Stan) Warden, Audrey Hutchinson, Jeannie Hutchinson (Dino LaTray); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, William (Pauline) Hutchinson, and a sister, Estelle Robinson, both of Florida.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 345 Broadwater. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery and Cremation Society of Montana.

Glen A. Lincoln
FORSYTH - Glen A. Lincoln, 77, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at his home in Forsyth following a brief illness.
Glen was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Forsyth, the son of Ovid H. and Maude Larson Lincoln. He spent his youth in Forsyth and attended schools in Forsyth. At the age of 15, Glen entered the CCC, later the National Guard and on Dec. 29, 1941, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps in Butte. In the Marines, Glen became a member of the Carlson's Raiders, participating in the Battle of the Solomon Islands, Makin Island, Guadalcanal, as well as other campaigns on Guam and the Marianas Islands. Following his discharge on Feb. 28, 1945, Glen returned to Forsyth where he went to work on the Montana Highway Department.
On March 9, 1946, Glen married Mildred Squires in Forsyth. In 1951, Glen went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad, starting with the Section Crew and moving into the Railroad Clerks office, working for 30 years. Glen retired in 1981 and has continued to live in Forsyth since.
Glen was a member of Forsyth Rifle and Pistol Club for many years. He was also a member of the Forsyth VFW, NRA, served as a reserve deputy for the Rosebud County Sheriff's Department and attended church at the Wesleyan Church in Forsyth. Glen was a hunting and gun enthusiast, and worked with the youth in Forsyth as a hunter safety instructor for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Forsyth; two sons, Robert Lincoln, Raymond and Lori Lincoln, both of Forsyth; two grandchildren, Jasmine and Andrew Lincoln, all of Forsyth; his nephew, Kenneth Lincoln and his niece, Lorena Newton; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by four brothers, Leslie, Wesley, Shirley, and Elwyn, and his sister, Lorraine.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at the Beals Mortuary Chapel in Forsyth. Interment will follow in the Forsyth cemetery with Military Graveside Honors. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangements.

Everett Randolf Lytton
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Everett Randolf Lytton, 87, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at his home south of Sheridan.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Champion Funeral Home is in charge.

Henry 'Hank' Sullivan
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Henry P. "Hank" Sullivan, 74, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Champion Funeral Home with interment in the Sheridan Municipal cemetery.

James Elling Warner
LIVINGSTON - James Elling Warner, 56, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his home.
Cremation has taken place and private family memorial will be held. Cremation or Funeral Gallery and Cremation Society of Montana were in charge.

John William Benes
John William Benes, 40, of Winifred, died Friday evening, Dec. 18, 1998 due to injuries sustained in an motor vehicle accident in Winifred.
John was born on July 10, 1958 at Lewistown to Albert and Dorothy (Stingley) Benes. He attended school at Christina and Winifred, graduating from Winifred High School. He attended MSU at Bozeman for two years.
John was a rancher and also a licensed professional guide.
On Feb. 14, 1998 at Lewistown, he was united in marriage to Debra Sansaver. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Winifred; a director of the Snowy Mountain Wool Pool; a volunteer and First Responder for the Winifred Ambulance; a member of the Eagles; and also taught hunter's safety. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool.
John enjoyed visiting with others and touched everyone he met in a very special way. Survivors include his wife, Debra of Winifred; a step-daughter, Becky Houck of West Yellowstone; a step-son, Trevor Houck of Glendive; and his parents, Albert and Dorothy Benes of Winifred. In addition, he is survived by three brothers: Dale Benes of Lewistown, Russell and Lavonne Benes of Roundup, and Mark and Leann Benes of Beach, N.D. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; Melody Benes, Crystal Benes, Earl Benes, Tyler Benes, and Megan Benes.
Funeral Services for John W Benes will be at the Winifred High School Gymnasium on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Winifred cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Winifred Swimming Pool Fund.
Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanette Bennion
Jeanette Bennion, age 86, died at home on Dec. 20, 1998, with her family by her side. Jeanette was born on the family homestead near Molt on Jan. 20, 1912, the fourth child of John and Christine Sump. Her father died in 1916 and shortly afterward she moved to Billings with her mother, two sisters and two brothers. She graduated from Billings Senior High in 1930 and later attended Billings Business College mornings while working as a secretary for Allis Chalmers afternoons. She was married to George Templin and had one son, Tom. In 1940 she married Rex Bennion and had two daughters, Bonnie and Nancy. Jeanette worked as a bookkeeper for Montana Welding and Radiator for many years, retiring with Rex to travel in 1973. They lived in Arizona and Red Lodge until settling back in Billings.
Jeanette was a charter member of both Grace United Methodist Church and Moss Agate Chapter #126. Until arthritis limited her activities, she was a volunteer at Deaconess Hospital and worked in the HOST program through School District #2.
She was the loving grandmother of five grandchildren, Christine Milbourn, Andrea Grosinger, Barry Bennion, Brian O'Donnell and Kathy Schieno. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren. She was an encouragement to her family and left a strong legacy of cheerful optimism and faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex, (Dec. 20, 1979) and is survived by her son, Tom Bennion (Marlene), daughters, Bonnie (Larry O'Donnell) and Nancy (Dennis Flaherty).
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Avenue B.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to The Montana Rescue Mission or Grace United Methodist Church.

Matilda L. Fiegle
MILES CITY - Matilda L. Fiegle, age 90, passed away on Saturday, Dec.19, 1998, at the Beartooth Nursing Home in Red Lodge.
Matilda was born on Dec. 30, 1907, in Miles City the daughter of Hugh and Agnes (Clarke) McFarland. She attended both grade school and high school in Miles City. While living in Miles City, she worked for Montgomery Ward. Matilda married Anton Fiegle in Miles City on September 5, 1930. She moved to Seattle, Wash., living there until 1936 when she returned to Miles City where she farmed south of town. She later moved to town where she went to work for the Miles City Locker Plant. She moved to Lancaster, Calif. in 1950 and after the death of her husband in 1968, she returned to Miles City.
Matilda is survived by her daughter, Sharon Oredneck and her husband Richard of Red Lodge; a sister Anne Messmer and her husband Frank of Plevna; a brother Clyde McFarland and his wife Ada of Miles City; a sister-in-law, Lillian McFarland of Miles City, and eight grandchildren and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anton; two sons: Frank Fiegle, John Douglas Fiegle; three sisters: Tanna Hanson, Margaret Owens, Marcella Reed; and two brothers: Robert McFarland and Hugh McFarland.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with Rev. Grover Briggs officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association c/o Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home, 1717 Main, Miles City, MT 59301.

Garritt Wade Mehling
Garritt Wade Mehling passed away Dec. 19, 1998. Garritt was born a son to Vondell Bell and Ralph Mehling Nov. 16, 1959, in Billings.
He graduated with honors from Billings Senior High School in 1978. Garritt enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1980 and served six years and was discharged as a First Class Petty Officer. He served on board the USS Enterprise attaining the position of nuclear machinist mate.
Garritt married Stephanie Corranco on July 19, 1980, and they were blessed with a daughter, Jenelle on September 13, 1988.
Survivors include his mother, Vondell Bell; daughter Jenelle and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Cremation has taken place at Smith Crematory. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at the Atonement Lutheran Church. Interment of cremains with military rites will follow at Mountview cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Florence Margaret Scheid
Florence Margaret Scheid, 84, of Billings, died Thursday, Dec.17, 1998, at Aspen Meadows.
Florence, the daughter of John and Emma (Hansen) Ferguson, was born Dec.12, 1914, in Elbow Lake Township, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed in the West Elbow Lutheran Church, attended rural school and graduated from Park Region Academy in Fergus Falls, Minn. After graduation she worked at Greeley's Restaurant in Elbow Lake before she decided to go to Montana where she did restaurant work in Miles City.
She then moved to Billings and began working at The Old Northern Hotel. This is were she met Albert W. Scheid and on July 25, 1941, they were united in marriage. They owned and operated the East and West Parkway Cafes until they retired.
Florence was very proud of her accomplishment of Life Master in Duplicate Bridge and would be ready for any card game at a moments notice. She was an active member of American Lutheran Church and belonged to the Lydia Circle. Sewing and cooking were two favorite past times. She always had treats on hand whenever someone dropped by and could roll Lefse in a perfect circle. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart
Survivors include her husband Al, son John Scheid, daughter Mary and son-in-law Chris Hutchinson, sisters Lillian Halvorson, Ruth and husband Orton Germundson, brother Albert and wife Marion Ferguson and grandchildren Corbin, Courtney and Connor and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert, parents and three sisters and four brothers.
Cremation has taken place at Smith's Crematoria and a memorial service will be held at American Lutheran Church on the corner of Lewis and Division in Billings on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the American Lutheran Church or charity of one's choice.

Donald Stennes
WOLF POINT - Donald Stennes, 80, passed away Dec. 20, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Don was born on March 25, 1918, at Halstad, Minn. to Theo and Lily Stennes.
On March 6, 1942, he married Delores Hansen at Tacoma, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942 to 1947. He worked and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years.
Don was active in the First Presbyterian Church in Wolf Point serving as a past Deacon and Session member. He was on the building committee for the church for a number of years. Don was an avid hunter, fisherman and especially enjoyed working in his garden. He was proud of his thirty years as a hunters' safety instructor.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delores, four brothers and a granddaughter Charlene.
He is survived by four sons, Carl and Larry of Wolf Point and Jim and Mark of Denver, Colo.; a twin brother Arnold of Wenatchee, Wash.; a sister Betty Hickok of Wolf Point; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point with Rev. P.J. Southam of Wolf Point officiating.

Esther C. Wright
ABSAROKEE - Esther Wright, age 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at her home in Absarokee. She was born July 10, 1905 to Andrew and Bertha Sinclair in Cooperstown, N.D. She married Pen Wright August 10, 1936. Pen preceded Esther in death on May 12, 1993.
Esther's love of music was known throughout the county. She devoted many years to teaching piano lessons. She played piano and organ for the Absarokee Community Congregational Church for many years.
She was active in Eastern Star, Springcreek Community Club, Community Congregational Church, Dorcas Society, Absarokee Garden Club and Senior Citizens.
Esther is survived by three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1O a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998 at Community Congregational Church in Absarokee with interment in Mountainview cemetery in Columbus. Viewing will be at the church prior to the service. Smith Funeral Chapel - Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Absarokee Community Congregational Church.

Ann Agnes Berard
WORLAND, Wyo. - Ann Agnes Berard, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 19, at her daughter's Worland home.
Memorial Mass will be offered at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Veile Mortuary is in charge.
