Charles Small
WINSTON-SALEM - Charles Stephen Small, 58, of Grove Park Lane, died suddenly Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Glenn Myers.
Mr. Small was born February 20, 1950, in Berkley County, W.Va., to Charles Henry Small and Margaret Kitchen Small Bowman. He was a retired engineer from Duracell.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Fulton Small of the home; son, Aaron Wesley Small of Greensboro; daughter, Corey Maureen Showalter and husband, Philip Christian, of Charlotte; father and stepmother, Margaret Small, of Wilmington; mother of High Point; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Bonnie Fulton, of Bluffton, In.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday September 7, 2008 at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Coach Charles Gregory
ARCHDALE - Coach Charles Ray Gregory of Archdale passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 after a brief illness.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday afternoon at 4:00 pm at Green Street Baptist Church with Reverend Darrell L. Craft officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm at the church on Monday.
Coach Gregory was born March 12, 1932 to the late Roger and Leila Gregory of High Point. He is survived by his wife, Anne Campbell Gregory of 52 years, two daughters, Carol Gregory Cable and husband John; Teresea Gregory Piner and husband Tom; five grandchildren Neil, Jessica, and Tori Piner; Ivy and Sarah Anne Cable; one surviving sister, Dorothy Bottoms, and the late Lois Mooney of High Point.
He graduated from Lees McRae College where he was inducted into the "Lees McRae College Century Hall of Fame." He then attended Wofford College. After serving two years in the U.S. Army; he graduated from High Point College. He later received his Masters Degree from UNC.
While coaching at Randleman High School, the football team won "three in a row" 2 A State Championships in 1981, 1982, and 1983. In 1981 the football stadium was named in his honor.
During his career his received many honors and awards some of which include; the N. C. High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Wall of Fame, the Honorary Membership N. C. Football Coaches' Association, and was inducted into the NCHSAA Hall of Fame in 2007.
After teaching and coaching for over thirty years, he retired in 1985 and became a Realtor for Ed Price and Associates in High Point.
He was a member of Green Street Baptist Church in High Point. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Randleman Tiger Athletic Department in care of Shane Handy at 4396 Tiger Den Road, Randleman, N. C. 27317; NCHSAA in care of Quanta' Holden at P.O. Box 3216, Chapel Hill, N. C. 27515; or the Victory Junction Gang Camp in care of Kyle and Patty Petty at 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, N. C. 27317.

Charles "Charlie' Pfaff Jr.
WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Charles (Charlie) Franklin Pfaff, Jr., 53, of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, April 23, 2009, peacefully at his home surrounded with love by his family. Charlie was born in Forsyth County on August 16, 1955, to Charles (Buddy) and Dixie Church Pfaff. Surviving of the home include his wife and best friend of 26 years, Carol Lambeth Pfaff; his wonderful children who are the light of Charlie's life, daughter, Sarah Caroline Pfaff; son, Benjamin Lambeth Pfaff and their family dog, Tasha. Also, two beloved sisters, Dawn Pfaff, Caroline Lawson and husband Scott; and many loving nieces, Summer, Hannah and Eleanor; nephews, Nolan, Seth, Joel, Evan, Parker, Dylan, Austin, Brandon, and Lucas; and in-law's, David and Kate Lambeth, Jo Lynn Foster, Ronald Foster, and Marty Lambeth (and the late Ken Lambeth). Charlie was a lifelong member of Olivet Moravian Church where he enjoyed playing in the band, Men's Fellowship, served on the Church Board, and was a member of the Men's Bible Class. After graduating from Randolph Tech with a degree in photography, Charlie pursued his love and passion for photography throughout his lifetime as head photographer for a company in Burlington. Later, he was manager of a camera store and most recently, he was in charge of the photo lab at Walgreen's. He also owned Allstar Photo, a sports photo business that he and his family worked together in. He was a professional photographer that loved all aspects and types of photography, but Charlie especially loved sports photography. He took sports photos for The Chronicle. His sense of humor and smiling, friendly manner will be missed by so many. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Olivet Moravian Church with the Rev. Douglas Rights officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel will be assisting the Pfaff family. Constance Jenkins Singer, age 85, of Forest Oaks Rehabilitation Ctr., Albemarle died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at Forest Oaks Rehabilitation Ctr., Albemarle, NC.
Mrs. Singer was born October 3, 1917 at Taylorsville, NC the daughter of the late Carl and the late Lillie (Smith) Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Singer, Sr.; she was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy and was retired from the retail grocery business.
She is survived by one son, Carl Singer, Jr. of Lebanon, OH; one sister, Elizabeth Ehlerding of Troy, NC and one brother, George Jenkins of Troy, NC.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 1-2 pm prior to the funeral service at Pugh- Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at Pugh- Troy Funeral Home Chapel, Troy. Burial will be in Stanly Gardens Of Memory, Hwy 24/27E., Albemarle, NC.

Carletta Routh Pugh
Carletta Routh Pugh, age 89, of Gray´s Chapel died Friday, January 30, 2004 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Mrs. Pugh was born November 17, 1914 the daughter of the late Isaac Enoch and the late Gertrude (Pugh) Routh. Mrs. Pugh was a native of Randolph County and previously employed with Acme-McCrary and Belk´s, Inc. She was a member of Gray´s Chapel United Methodist Church and preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Pugh.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Jacqueline and Jack Lewis, Elizabeth Jane and Charles Moore, Routh and Carlton Johnson all of Grays Chapel, NC; and Rebecca and John York of Cary, NC; eight granddaughters: Lorri Lewis Kidd, Amy Lewis Barfield, Sharon Moore Humbles, Karen Moore Duggins, Nan Johnson Cranford, Carla Johnson Herring, Deborah York Register, and Dara York Haney, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; one sister: Margaret Julian of Grays Chapel, NC; three brothers: Junius Routh, Thomas Routh and Jimmie Routh all of Grays Chapel, NC.
The funeral will be Sunday, February 1, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, 5056 N.C. Hwy 22 North, Franklinville with Rev. Dale Hilton officiating. The granddaughters will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Grays Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery, Franklinville. The family will receive friends Sunday following the funeral service at the Church Fellowship Hall.

John William Snider
John William Snider, age 69, of 1671 Giles Chapel Rd., Asheboro died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham.
Mr. Snider was a native of Randolph County, was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery. He was a member of Giles Chapel United Methodist Church, providing many years of dedicated service to the church and cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene N. Snider, his sisters, Ruth Bradshaw, Dorothy White, and Gladys Routh, and his brother, Dalton Snider.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband Cathy Snider Kersey and Vance Kersey of Asheboro, NC; son Todd N. Snider of the home; granddaughter, Ashley Kersey of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Justin Kersey of Asheboro, NC; sisters Colleen Apple of Farmer, NC, Rachel Adams of Thomasville, NC and Nancy Snider of Waynesboro, VA; brothers Clyatt Snider, Jack Snider, Eugene Snider and Dewey Snider all of Denton, NC.

Jeremy “Scott” Haywood, age 24, of 537 Blake Loop Rd., Mt. Gilead died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at his home.
Mr. Haywood was born July 30, 1980, in Montgomery County, the son of Wyman Rankin Haywood and the late Gloria (Short). Mr. Haywood was a graduate of West Montgomery High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Troy, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Short Haywood.

Mrs.Haywood was a former resident of Randolph County and a former employee of Vogue Beauty Shop. She was a member of Balfour Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her first husband, William F. ”Bill” Cross.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Raymond Haywood; step-son, Keith Haywood of Mt. Gilead, NC, 2 step-grandchildren.
