Deal, Jody Adam

On the late morn of Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, all suffering, pain and breathing difficulty left and left us with heartache, but yet comfort, knowing that a son, brother, friend and father, Jody Adam Deal, left this Earth to find wings only fit for an angel. Although he is already missed greatly and without doubt, we must all rest now to know he can hurt no more. Born Oct. 19, 1976, to Sylvia Ann Henderson-Sanders-Deal and the late Lester Silvannas Deal, to share his life with brothers Charles James Sanders and Adrian Todd Sanders, he leaves a legacy of happiness, joy, love and laughter that will always be remembered by looking into the eyes of his only daughter, Sierra Faith Deal. Although his illness was a long, difficult and rocky road, he managed to keep his head held high and strove for excellence as a single parent to Sierra. He was a truly amazing son for Sylvia and words cannot express the relationship shared with his brothers, Charles and Todd. He loved life and shared with many his lifelong admiration of wrestling, Dale Earnhardt racing and of course his Denver Broncos with John Elway. He was the most incredible father than any princess could ask for. Just like one of Sierra's favorite TV shows, Touched by an Angel, a segment could truly be written about Jody. He struggled and faltered, but never turned his vision from a life that shed no misery, pain nor suffering. Even though the cards were not dealt as hoped, he continued to play. Now he is the one wearing wings. Jody, we love you and pray you stay with us our lives through until we meet again. Many thanks we send to all, but special thanks to Dr. Thomas Hinson, Dr. Fowler and Andrea of Salem Chest Specialists. To Lisa and Shannon of Forsyth Medical Center Coronary Care Unit 5th floor and staff, including Terry, all of you were God-sent and we thank you for your caring, comforting ways. May God bless you and yours. Shane Jarvis, our cousin, brother in Christ and friend, we could not have made it through without you. Your prayers, words of wisdom and compassion will always be with us. Thank you, brother. Jody loved you and so do we. Grandma Deal and great-aunt Janice, God has a way of bringing folks closer together and please know we love you both. May God keep you forever in his healing, helping hands. Amy Leonard, family and friends, ups and downs, rounds and rounds we've known plenty, if there was any doubt, there's none now, no, not any, Jody loved you all and so do we. May God bless you all with happiness, love and laughter your whole lives through, sincerely, the family of Jody Adam Deal. Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 12, at Voglers Main Street Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Vogler's Main Street Chapel. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association in honor of Jody Adam Deal of Winston-Salem.
