MOCKSVILLE - Mr. Samuel Leonard Daniel, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Concord United Methodist Church cemetery. Eaton Funeral Home in Mocksville is serving the family.

BOONE - Mr. John Edward Day, 62, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel in Boone.

Drake, Bruce Neal

Mr. Bruce Neal Drake, 51, of Witherow Road passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Even though his illness was harsh, it allowed him to grow closer to God and to rely on his faith; he was an inspiration to others. He was born March 14, 1953, in Mercer County, Pa., a son of Donald Eugene and Monteese Walker Drake. He was a graduate of Halifax County Senior High School, class of 1971, and of Virginia Tech in 1977. He was an employee of Barker Claim Service as a property claims adjuster, also serving 26 years at Crawford & Co. Insurance. Mr. Drake was an active member of Main St. United Methodist Church, where he served on the cemetery committee. He was also active in and a board member of Scout Troop 944. He was preceded in death by his mother. Surviving are his wife, Linda Taylor Drake of the home; a son and daughter, Steven Neal and Lauren Anne Drake; two stepdaughters, Shannon Melissa and Megan Elizabeth Taylor; a brother, Rodney Drake and wife, Barbara; a sister, Karen Drake Bradley and husband, Richard; a niece, Kathryn Bradley; and two nephews, David Drake and Andrew Bradley. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Main Street United Methodist Church by Dr. Al Ward. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 5, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Fagg Sr., Clarence Poe

MOUNT AIRY - Mr. Clarence Poe Fagg Sr., 81, of 1252 McBride Road, Mount Airy, husband of Mrs. Margaret "Polly" Short Fagg, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Central Continuing Care of Mount Airy. Mr. Fagg was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Stokes County, the son of James Lemly and Gracie Smith Fagg. Mr. Fagg was retired as co-owner of Shelton Plumbing and Heating in Mount Airy for 46 years. Mr. Fagg was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with the 68th Tank of 6th Army Division during World War II, and was the recipient of two purple hearts, a silver star and five battle stars. Mr. Fagg was a charter member of Flat Rock Ruritan Club, having served as past president, and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and was president of his Sunday school class. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret "Polly" Fagg of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Brenda Fagg of Mount Airy and Kenny and Sylvia Fagg and Bobby and Rhonda Fagg, all of Pilot Mountain; three granddaughters and spouses, Stephanie and Kevin Presnell of Pinnacle, Lori and Luke Coe of Pilot Mountain and Lisa and Chad Talton of Clemmons; three grandsons and spouses, Brandon and Susie Fagg of Westfield, Robert Fagg Jr. of Winston-Salem and Stephen and Amanda Fagg of Pilot Mountain; two stepgrandchildren and spouse, Melissa and Joe Baskin and Joseph Griffin, both of Mount Airy; 10 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two sisters and spouse, Lucille Stout of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Emma and Dana Otto of Lake Mary, Fla. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fagg was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Fagg. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Flat Rock Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Loman. Burial will follow in Oakdale cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mount Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 5, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 1335 E. Finley, Pamela Gerald

RIVERDALE, Ga. - Mrs. Pamela Gerald Finley, 35, of Riverdale and formerly of Winston-Salem, N.C., passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004, after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Craig W. Finley Jr.; her children, James and Monique Winters of the home; her mother, Mary F. Gerald; her brother, Marvin Gerald of Covington; her sisters, Monica (William) Gerald-Cromer of Kernersville, N.C., and Adrian Y. Gerald of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a devoted aunt, Joyce Morgan Gerald of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and a host of other loving family members and friends. A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, Inc., in Atlanta. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton. Ford, Mary Elizabeth

CHARLOTTE - Mary Elizabeth Ford, 98, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Asbury Care Center at Aldersgate in Charlotte. She was born Sept. 12, 1905, in Roanoke, Va. Lib, or Aunt Libby, as she was known to most of her surviving family members, was the daughter of the late Daisy Roberta Thomason Ford and Augusta Lee Ford, sister of George Franklin Ford and Robert Lee Ford, who preceded her in death and sister-in-law of the late Shirley Martin Ford. She completed the business course at Women's College, now UNC-Greensboro, before working for a brief time for the city of Lexington. She was a faithful follower of Christ and an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington. She was a loyal worker in the 4-5-year-old Sunday school class for many, many years; charter member of the Jennie Lee Allen guild, now called group 10 of the UMW; held various positions on the administrative board and was designated an ex-officio member of the board prior to her move to Charlotte. Before her retirement, she was bookkeeper and office manager for Carolina Panel Co. for 45 years. She also worked part-time as bookkeeper for Acme Face Veneer for many years. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Iris Rickman Ford of Eden; six nieces and their husbands, Jean and Lee Koontz of Lexington, Iris Elizabeth "Libby" and Bill Selby of Charlotte, Elizabeth "Libby" Gail and David Siceloff of Belmont, Susan and Barry Chaney of Eden, Dr. Barbara Ford of Black Mountain and Debbie and Larry Wilson of Harrisburg; five great-nieces, Robin Stripling of Lexington, Kristen Elizabeth Schiebel of Seattle, Wash., Ellen Elizabeth Hendrix of Greensboro, Susan Selby of Charlotte and Jamison Elizabeth Ford Law of Charlotte; six great-nephews, Lee Koontz Jr. of Thomasville, Kef Koontz and Wes Koontz of Lexington, Nathan Siceloff, serving in the military in Iraq, Alex Whitten of Harrisburg and Caleb Ford of Black Mountain; four great-great-nieces, two of whom have Elizabeth in their names; and eight great-great-nephews. How do you describe someone who has meant so much to so many in our family? Our "Aunt Libby" was a benefactor to us and to many others in her community, a compassionate champion of children's causes and what some of us referred to as our own earthly "guardian angel." We shall miss her greatly. A graveside funeral service to celebrate the life of Aunt Libby will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Lexington City cemetery (weather permitting) with the Rev. John Ferree and the Rev. David Cunha officiating. If the weather is extreme, the service will be held in the chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home. The family will receive friends directly after the service. In addition, friends and family who would like to are invited to gather at Jean and Lee Koontz's home on Rowe Road after the service. Gentry, Maude

Ms. Maude Gentry, 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Homestead Health Care in Winston-Salem. She was born and raised on a farm in the Mount Olive Community of Stokes County. On June 9, 1911, she was born the daughter of Oscar T. and Carrie Mae Bennett Gentry. Ms. Gentry was a longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and worked for many years at Forsyth Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Irene G. Smith and a brother, Robah Gentry. Ms. Gentry is survived by a sister, Elsie Mae Gentry Mabe of Winston-Salem; a niece, Kathy Mabe Thompson of Lexington; two nephews, Harold Gaynor Mabe of Pfafftown and Conrad Mabe and wife Bernice of Lewisville; three great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. The funeral service for Ms. Gentry will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Randy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Keaton, Margaret Burton

RURAL HALL - Mrs. Margaret Burton Keaton, 88, of Rural Hall passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Springwood Care. She was born May 2, 1916, in Lexington to Roy and Hattie Whisenhunt Burton. Mrs. Keaton was a member of Northpoint Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Keaton; two brothers; and three sisters. Surviving are two sons, Willie M. Keaton and wife, Peggy, of Rural Hall and Ronald Gene Keaton Sr. and wife, Deborah, of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Letty Louise Massey and husband, J.C., of Yadkinville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tommy Burton of Winston-Salem and Pete Burton and wife, Georgia, of Lexington; and a sister, Callie Hudson of Advance. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Bixby Presbyterian Church cemetery in Advance with the Rev. Lester Keaton and the Rev. Bobby Russell officiating. Maranville, Randy D.

Randy D. Maranville, 41, of Winston-Salem departed this life Monday, Aug. 2, 2004. He was born Feb. 23, 1963, in Forsyth County to Dewey and Rose Maranville. He leaves behind three sisters, Trudy J. Carter of Georgia and Nordeana L. Maranville and Trudy L. Machuca, both of Winston-Salem; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Martin, Marshall Donovant

MAYODAN - Mr. Marshall Donovant Martin, 79, of 1024 Modock Ave., Norfolk, Va., formerly of Mayodan, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Martin was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Rockingham County, the son of the late Walter Bennett Martin and the late Loula Donovant Martin. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, serving in World War II, and was a self-employed brick mason. He was a longtime member of the Mayodan Moravian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Walter Eugene Martin, William Harvey Martin and Harry Martin. He is survived by his wife, Pansy Kirkman Martin of Mayodan; his children, Susan Martin Morrissett and husband, John, of Greensboro, Marshall Donovant "Donnie" Martin Jr. of Mayodan, Luanne Martin Edwards and husband, Larry, of Summerfield and Becky Martin Fulp of Stoneville; a brother, James Phol Martin of Florida; a sister, Patricia Anne Martin of Mayodan; his grandchildren, Bradley Linville, Christina Nicole Martin, Jeff Allred and Timothy Fulp; and his great-grandchildren, Bailey Alley, Ashland Alley, Ashlyn Linville and Haley Linville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Mayodan Moravian Church with the Rev. Kelly Moore, the Rev. Joe Moore and the Right Rev. Graham Rights officiating. Interment will follow at the Mayodan Moravian Graveyard with military honors provided by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. Martin, Nathan Alexander "Alec"

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Nathan Alexander "Alec" Martin, 35, of Smithwick Road passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. He was born Sept. 12, 1968, in Randolph County, a son of James H. and Genevieve Allen Martin of Sanford. Mr. Martin was a graduate of UNC Greensboro and an employee of Lin Pac Inc. of Greensboro as a scheduling manager. His respect of the outdoors and his love of sports and music will long be remembered. He was a devoted father and a loving husband. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Julia Rowlett Martin of the home; two children, Daniel and Lindsay Martin, also of the home; and a sister, Marci Krehnbrink of Mooresville. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at First Christian Church of Kernersville by the Rev. Pete Kunkle. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Miller, Harry Donald

BERMUDA RUN - Mr. Harry Donald Miller, 76, of Bermuda Run passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. He was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Guilford County to Melvin Grady Miller and Hattie Bean Miller. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1987 from Hanes Knitwear after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Clemmons Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Hale Miller of the home; two sons, Michael E. Miller and wife Gina of Winston-Salem and Jeffrey C. Miller of Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Kim Hale of Greensboro and Debe Hale Roof and husband Dennis of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Viviana Miller of Atlanta, Ga.; and nine grandchildren, Evan and Erica Miller of Winston-Salem, Marcella and Nicholas Miller of Atlanta, Chris, Joshua, Ashley and Matthew Hale of Greensboro and Zachary Roof of Sherman Oaks, Calif. Harry was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be missed by many. As Christians, our faith reminds us this is not goodbye but only a short separation until we meet again. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Clemmons Presbyterian Church, with the Dr. Bill Hoyle officiating. Moore, Earl Vester

ASHEBORO - Mr. Earl Vester Moore, 64, of 5224 NC Hwy 134, Asheboro died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born Sept. 1, 1939, to Jesse Moore and Lora Mishie Garner. A native of Moore County, Mr. Moore was retired from Sears after 32 years of service. After retirement he went to work with First Bank as a courier. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church, where he was adult Sunday school teacher and lay leader. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Auman Moore of the home; a daughter, Dr. Rachel Moore Hupfeld and husband, Bryan, of Clemmons; a son, Jesse Moore of the home; and a sister, Agnes Moore Smith and husband, Cecil, of Asheboro. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Pisgah United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill Foust. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, Aug. 5, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Morgan, Katie Earline Granger

Mrs. Katie Earline Granger Morgan, 71, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on July 6, 1933, to Charles Brown and Eulila McCullough Granger. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Advent Moravian Church for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sadie E. Granger, Ruby Williams and Rosa Mae Money; and a brother, Walter Granger. Her husband of 50 years, William J'Van of the home; a son, James David Morgan of Durham; two brothers, Roy B. Granger of Clemmons and E.G. Granger and wife Geraldine of Winston-Salem; along with a host of nieces and nephews, all survive. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 6, at Advent Moravian Church, with the Rev. Tripp May officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Aug. 5, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Pendergrass, Betty Hudson

YADKINVILLE - Mrs. Betty Hudson Pendergrass, 64, of Haire Road passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Pendergrass loved her family and was devoted to being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to them. She was born April 27, 1940, in Yadkin County to Clarence and Maggie Mae Danner Hudson. Mrs. Pendergrass worked with 18 years of service with the Yadkin County School System as an interpreter for the hearing-impaired and was a member of Sunrise United Methodist Church in Lewisville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Pendergrass Sr., in 1999; and a son, Darren Pendergrass, in 1998. Surviving are her children, Harry Lee Pendergrass Jr., Dennis (Tina) Pendergrass, Libby Pendergrass, Betsi Pendergrass, David Pendergrass, Bertha Sanchez and Annette Pendergrass, all of Yadkinville; a sister, Ann (Leslie) Chamberlain of Yadkinville; her grandchildren, Travis Caudle, Andy Caudle, Kristi Pendergrass, Randy Caudle, Trey Pendergrass, Landon Pendergrass, Angel Sanchez, Paige Pendergrass, Brittany Pendergrass, MaKayla Pendergrass and Jonah Pendergrass; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Caudle and Seth Caudle; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Danny Leonard and Betsi Pendergrass. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home. Her graveside service will be held at 7 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Grove Friends Church cemetery. Ray, Ruby Best

Mrs. Ruby Best Ray, 78, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Wayne County. Mrs. Ray was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee Ray and her father, Henry Best. Surviving are three sons, Ronald Smith and wife, Doris, of Winston-Salem, Bobby Eugene Smith and wife, Debi, of Rural Hall and Larry Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 5, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Parrish officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service today at the funeral home.

Smith, Mary Susanne "Susie"

ELKIN - Mrs. Mary Susanne "Susie" Smith, 76, of 3541 Poplar Springs Road, Elkin, passed away with her husband, William Francis "Bill" Smith, at their residence on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004. Susie was born in Allen County, Ohio, to William B. Tierney and Evelyn Crandall Tierney on Aug. 3, 1928. She is survived by a son, Jack Goen of Muncie, Ind.; two stepsons, William Michael Smith of Seminole Fla., and Ronald Douglass (Betty) Smith of Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Carol (Shuny) Legeza of Oregon, Ohio, and Diana (Bruce) Jones of Saint Mary's, Ohio; a brother, William C. Tierney of Brevard; a sister, Shirley (James) Howell of State Road; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Michelle, Travis, Tracie, Rachael, Kyle, Brian, Stephanie, Beth and Christopher; four great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Elkin by Father John Hanic. Smith, William Francis "Bill"

ELKIN - Mr. William Francis "Bill" Smith, 78, of 3541 Poplar Springs Road, Elkin, passed away with his wife, Mary Susanne "Susie" Smith, at their residence on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004. Mr. Smith was born in Carmi, Ill., on Oct. 8, 1925, to Vernon Stanley Smith and Claudia Mae Baker Smith. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a World War II veteran. He retired from Owens Illinois Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Smith and Vernon Baker Smith; two half brothers, Donald Smith and Bryon Smith; three sisters, Ella Kruse, Libby Stephens and Lucille McCanless; and a half sister, Hilda St. Johns. Surviving are two sons, William Michael Smith of Seminole, Fla., and Ronald Douglass (Betty) Smith of Ocala, Fla.; a stepson, Jack Goen of Muncie, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Carol (Shuny) Legeza of Oregon, Ohio, and Diana (Bruce) Jones of Saint Mary's, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brian William Smith, Stephanie Sue Smith Kraemer, Elizabeth Marie Smith and Christopher Aaron Smith; six stepgrandchildren, Mark, Michelle, Travis, Tracie, Rachel and Kyle; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Rae Smith, Alyssa Lynn Kraemer and Bryce Warren Smith; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at St. Stephens Catholic Church of Elkin by Father John Hanic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephens Catholic Church, 101 Hawthorne Road, Elkin NC 28621; or Tri-County Christian Crisis Ministry, 458 W. Main St., Jonesville, NC 28642. Johnson Funeral Home of Elkin is serving the Smith family.

Spivey Jr., Grady M.

TOWNVILLE, S.C. - Mr. Grady M. Spivey Jr., 62, of 118 Singleton Road, Townville died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at his residence. Born in Forsyth County, N.C., on Feb. 14, 1942, Mr. Spivey was retired from Fluor Daniel of Greenville as a senior HVAC designer. He was a Little League coach for Northwood Little League and the Taylors Falcons. In addition to his wife, Janice Williard Spivey, he is survived by two sons, Greg Spivey of Greenville and Grant Spivey of Simpsonville; a daughter, Lynn Gealy of Simpsonville; and seven grandchildren, Brenna Spivey, Lauren Spivey, Kaci Spivey, Tina Spivey, Haley Spivey, Kaylin Gealy and Landon Gealy. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Concerned Citizens for Animals, P.O. Box 1332, Simpsonville, SC 29601. The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson is in charge of arrangements.

ZIONVILLE - Mr. John Reed Trivette, 59, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. The service will be 8 p.m. today at Austin & Barnes Funeral Chapel.

Vidacak, Mladjan

HIGH POINT - Mr. Mladjan Vidacak, 70, of South Scientific Street died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born April 28, 1934, in Zenica, Bosnia, a son of Milan and Ana Sekulic Vidacak. Surviving are his wife, Mara Nikolic Vidacak; three sons, Nebojsa Vidacak and wife Kosa, Nedjo Vidacak and Jelenko Vidacak, all of High Point; two brothers, Todor Vidacak and family of High Point and Milan Vidacak of Serbia; a sister, Zora Djukic and family of High Point; three grandchildren, Violeta, Jovana and Mladjan; a stepson, Golub Tribic and family; a stepdaughter, Jovanka Miric and family; in-laws Cvjetko Simic and family; and several extended family members and friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 5, at St. Basil of Ostrog Serbian Orthodox Church of North Carolina by the Priest Dragan Zaric. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur cemetery. Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home is serving the Vidacak family.

Adams Sr., Howard Hampton "Sam"

Mr. Howard "Sam" Hampton Adams Sr., 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2004. He was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Yadkin County to the late Shirl Hampton and Blanche Caudle Adams. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1945 to 1947 in the 770th Railway Operation BN. Mr. Adams was owner of Howard H. Adams Well Drilling, 67 Exxon and Adams Automotive from which he retired in 1989. He was a member of Winston-Salem Friends Meeting, where he served as Sunday school superintendant. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Betty Brown Adams, and two brothers, Troy and David Adams, both of Yadkinville. He is survived by his sons, Jerry (Sandra) Adams of East Bend and Steve (Gail) Adams and Howard Jr. "Howie" (Janice) Adams, both of Pfafftown; four grandchildren, Andrea Mast of Charlotte, Ryan Adams of East Bend and Taylor and Savannah Adams of Pfafftown; five brothers, Harold (Jean) Adams of Ontario, Canada, Bobby "Mutt" (Betty) Adams and Ross (Jean) Adams, both of Pfafftown, Jack (Ann) Adams of East Bend and Mike (Dee) Adams of Kernersville; four sisters, Goldie Hamby of Boonville, Helen (Hank) Foster of Greenville, N.C., Peggy (Ray) Lambert of Pfafftown and Pernell (Cole) Hobson of Boonville; a sister-in-law, Judy Adams of Yadkinville; and a brother-in-law, Carl "Toot" (Mildred) Brown of East Bend. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Winston-Salem Friends Meeting on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday to lie in state. Burial will follow in the Forsyth Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Aug. 4, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. Memorials may be made to Winston-Salem Friends Meeting, 3151 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
