Margaret Ann Mary Lambert Jordan, 66, formerly of Springwood Care Center of Forsyth, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 7 this evening at Northridge Baptist Church, Rural Hall. Hunter-Swittenburg of Thomasville is in charge of the arrangements.

KIGER

GREENSBORO - Mrs. Mildred "Mil" Wall Kiger, 83, died unexpectedly Monday morning, March 18, 2002, at the Guilford Health Care Center. A native of Surry County, she was born April 16, 1918, to the late Porter G. and Pearl Boles Wall Sr. Mrs. Kiger was a member of the Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall where she was active in the choir, Ladies Circle and many other ministries of the church and of the Rural Hall community, as long as her health allowed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, A.G. "Jack" Kiger in 1997; a sister, Lessie Kiger; and a brother, P.G. Wall Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall. The Rev. Glenn S. Griffiths, OSL and the Rev. Lee Strange will officiate. Burial will be in the Rural Hall Memorial Park (Tobaccoville Road). The family will receive friends and relatives from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 399, Rural Hall, NC 27045. LISINICCHIA

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - Josephine Lisinicchia, 91, the wife of the late Vincent Lisinicchia, died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, Toms River. Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.

LONG

YADKINVILLE - Mr. John Daniel Long, 85, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Long was born Dec. 31, 1916, in Yadkin County to John Henry and Maude Money Long. Mr. Long was a well-known brick mason, working for more than 50 years in the trade and was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura Opal Long; two brothers; and a sister. Surviving are two sons, Benny Long and wife Gloria and Duane Long and wife Peggy, all of Yadkinville; two daughters, Hope Long of the home and April Wooten and husband Tim of Yadkinville; a stepson, Hoyt Shore and wife Dorothy of Hamptonville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grand-children; three great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Rena Gough of Mount Airy and Rachel Hemrick of Hamptonville; and a brother, Clyde Long of Yadkinville. The funeral service for Mr. Long will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Longtown Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Mike Allen and the Rev. Hewey Parrish officiating. Mr. Long will lie in state from 1:30 to 2 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow in the Longtown Community cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, March 20, at Gentry Family Funeral Home, 5108 US Highway 601 N., Yadkinville, NC.

SIMMONS

THOMASVILLE - Mr. Donald Earl Simmons Sr., 57, the husband of Reba Jane Lewis Simmons, died Sunday at Randolph Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home.

TEAGUE

HIGH POINT - Ms. Bernese Irene Teague, 85, a resident of 7501 Watkins Ford Road, Kernersville, died March 18, 2002, at High Point Regional Hospital. Ms. Teague was born Aug. 27, 1916, in Guilford County, a daughter to Fred M. and Mary Myrtle Idol Teague. A resident of the surrounding area all her life, she attended Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, worked at S.H. Kress for 39 years and later at Tobias Inc. Surviving are her mother of Wesleyan Arms; a brother, Ralph Teague of Reidsville; three nephews, Bill Teague of Colorado Springs, Colo., Freddy Teague of High Point and Jeffrey Teague of Sterling, Va.; and two nieces, Betsy Teague King of Sarasota, Fla., and Neil Teague Mashburn of King. Ms. Teague was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Charles Teague. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point by Elder J.A. Langham. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, c/o George Goings 225 Grand St., High Point, NC 27260 or the charity of the donor's choice.

THOMAS

Mrs. Virginia Wall Cromer Thomas, 86, of Springwood Care Center, Winston-Salem, died Sunday, March 17, 2002. She was born Dec, 13, 1915, in Forsyth County to the late Jasper and Bessie Bowman Wall. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church and was retired from Forsyth Medical Center. She was a member of the Arts and Crafts Guild. She also had taught at Forsyth Technical Community College. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin E. Cromer, and her second husband, Jack M. Thomas. Surviving is a son, Ernest L. Cromer, of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Bill Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

TUTTEROW

MOCKSVILLE - Mr. John Paul Tutterow, 88, died Sunday at Rowan Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eaton Funeral Chapel, Mocksville.

WEAVER

Mrs. Doris Parsons Weaver, 69, passed away March 16, 2002, at her home. She was born April 24, 1932, in Surry County to Grady B. Parsons and Ruth Barrier Parsons. Mrs. Weaver, "Granny Weaver," was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She devoted her life to serving Christ and helping others. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Grady B. Parsons Jr. She is survived by six sons and a daughter, Danny Weaver and David Weaver, both of Winston-Salem, Phillip Weaver (Tawana) of Tobaccoville, Sharon Allen (Donald) of Four Oaks, Stephen Weaver (Janice) of State Road, Joel Weaver (Sandy) of King and Jonathan Weaver (Renee) of Midway; a sister, Sandra Simmons; seven grandchildren, Jamiee, Jessica, Shane, Daniel, Taylor, Noah, and Anna; two aunts, Juanita Greene of Linville and Pat Shufford of Washougal, Wash. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Mountain Park Baptist Church in Mountain Park with the Rev. Harold Fletcher officiating. Mrs. Weaver will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, Inc. P.O. Box 20424 Winston-Salem, NC 27120-0424. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family.

HIGH POINT - Mrs. Ruth Dellar Wood, 78, the wife of the late James Coy Wood, died Monday at her home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home.

ALLEN

MOUNT AIRY - Mr. Joseph Michael Allen, 50, died Monday. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the House of God Church. Spencer Funeral Home, Mount Airy, is in charge of arrangements.

BABER

Nicholas Matthew Baber, 11 months, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, due to end-stage renal disease secondary to end-stage liver disease. Nicholas was born April 9, 2001; he is the third child of Van and Wendy Baber of Winston-Salem. Nicholas was sent to the world as one of God's missionaries, and without saying one word, he brought so many people to come to know the Lord throughout many parts of the world by his living testimony. "Well done my good and faithful servant" was sure to be one of the first statements made by our Savior. Nicholas beamed with such a beautiful light that could have only come from the Lord. The soft gentle touch of his hands as he would stroke the faces of those around him, the beautiful beam of his bright eyes, and the tender glow of his smile simply said it all. Nicholas taught all around him what true courage, strength, and hope meant. Nicholas, we'll always love you more and more everyday to the moon and back. May your legacy live on forever. Nicholas leaves to cherish his memory his parents; a brother, Nathan, 9; a sister, Noelle, 6; paternal grandfather, Carl M. Baber; stepgrandmother Jean Baber of Mount Holly; paternal grandmother, Pat Kinney of Charlotte; maternal grandmother, Shirley Barnes of Mount Holly; and maternal grandfather, Albert Stehling Jr. of Concord. Visitation will be Thursday morning, March 21, 2002, in the L.H. LEXINGTON - Mr. Jason Charles Barefoot, 23, died Monday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Beck's Lutheran Church. Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, is in charge of arrangements.

ARCHDALE - Mrs. Viola Green Belo, 85, of 5893 Tom Hill Road died March 17, 2002, at her residence after an illness of 18 months. She was born in Randolph County, a daughter of Cornelius and Addie Strickland Green, who both preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and an active member of Bethel-Glenola United Methodist Church. She served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher of young adults, a member and secretary of United Methodist Women, and in many other capacities. For many years, she was delegate to the Western North Carolina Annual Conference. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Belo, March 17, 1998; a daughter, Lois B. Nicholson, June 12, 1996; and a son, Clifford D. Belo. Surviving are four sons, Coyt L. (Sarah) Belo of Oxon Hill, Md., Larry R. (Joyce) Belo of High Point, Thomas W. Belo of the home and Edwin Garnell (Cheryl) Belo of Winston-Salem; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, J.C. (Pete Green) of Asheboro; stepbrother Emory Webster of High Point; sister Mrs. Gladys G. Laughlin of Trinity; and stepsisters Mrs. Edith W. Dick of Trinity, Mrs. Edna W. Clark of Winston-Salem and Mrs. Pearl W. France of Mount Airy. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel-Glenola United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Alfonzo Evererett and the Rev. Charles Tyson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haizlip Funeral Chapel and other times at the residence. BINKLEY

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Maude Mickey Binkley, 90, a former resident of Holland Street in Winston-Salem for more than 50 years, passed away Monday, March 18, 2002. She was born to the late John W. and Crawlie Taylor Mickey Sept. 17, 1911, in Yadkin County. She married Alva Edison Binkley Dec. 24, 1931, in Winston-Salem. He preceded her in death in 1958. She had served as president of the PTA of Granville School in the early 1950s and had worked many years of her life in the food-service industry. Mrs. Binkley was a member of Salem Baptist Church and the Grace Stevens Sunday school class. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, traveling and fishing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Donald M. Binkley; two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Marianne B. Steagall (Bob) of Kernersville and Gaye B. Johnson (Ralph) of Ocala, Fla.; a son, John S. Binkley (Mary Ann) of Kernersville; eight grandsons; seven granddaughters; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lou Ray Montgomery of High Point; a brother, John H. Mickey (Elizabeth) of High Point; a daughter-in-law, Clarice Binkley of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Dr. Howard Wilburn will officiate, with the Rev. Floyd M. Boles and the Rev. Bob Whitaker assisting. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 S. BOBO

Mr. Forest Freeman Bobo, 76, of 6401 Staffordshire Drive, died March 18, 2002, at his home after an illness of nine months. He was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Wake County, a son of Halley F. and Floy F. Bobo and he grew up in Winston-Salem. After graduating from Baylor military School in Chattanooga, Tenn., he served in the Naval V12 Program during World War II. He graduated from High Point College and was owner and operator of Marsh Farm Driving Range. He was an active member of Archdale Senior Golf Association. He was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church. A 32 degree Mason, raised Nov. 21, 1950 in Chester, S.C., he was a member of the Oasis Temple, past member of the Oasis Temple Band and was a past member of Mini Motor Unit. He was an active member and past president of Chair City Shrine Club in Thomasville and was honored as Shriner of the Year in 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Dianna Jane Ellis. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Barbara Sheppard Bobo of the home; a daughter, Meri Forest Bobo of Archdale; granddaughters Melinda Ridge Prevost and husband Bart of High Point and Holly S. Ridge of Archdale; son-in-law, R. Jack Ellis of Kernersville; and a brother, Paul F. Bobo of Winston-Salem. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairfield United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Neal Brower. Masonic graveside rites will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after the graveside service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Oasis Temple Band, P.O. Box 560666, Charlotte, NC 28256-0665; Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262-7009; or to the charity of the donor's choice. ENNICE - Lloyd Oliver Brown, 69, of 13115 Highway 18 N. passed away Monday, March 18, 2002, at his residence. He was born Sept. 7, 1932, in the Baywood Community in Grayson County, Va., to the late Rufus and Dollie Blevins Brown. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver for Pilot Freight Co. Surviving are his wife, Bettye A. Brown, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis L. and Connie Brown, of Ennice; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Vickey Blevins and Darlene and Kenny Bobbitt, all of Sparta, and Charlene and Ronnie Greene of Ennice; a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Alice Brown, of Ennice; six grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; two great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special family, Abraham and Onelia Cuevas and sons of Ennice. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at Little Pine Liberty Church, Ennice. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Little Pine Liberty Church. Sara Smith Florio, 85, formerly of New York City, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002. She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Winston-Salem to Gilmer and Ora Smith. Mrs. Florio was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco Florio, and a brother, Bobby L. Saunders. Surviving is a sister, Mary Saunders Welch of Winston-Salem. No services will be held. Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the family.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Mrs. Karen Calloway Jackson Foster, 37, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at the OSU Medical Center. She was a graduate of the Colerain High School in Cincinnati and attended Wright State Uni-versity. She was employed at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency and a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church, where she served as a trustee and administrative assistant. Karen leaves to remember her with love her husband, Roosevelt; sons Eddie Wayne II "E.J." and Lacey Nathaniel Jackson of Columbus; her father, John Edward Wright of Monroe; her parents, Lacey and Faye Peoples Calloway of Dayton, Ohio; her grandmother, Betty Glenn of Cincinnati; sisters Dawne (Jeff) Gardner and Stephanie Calloway of Cincinnati; mother-in-law Gladys Cummings; sister-in-law Eleanor (Delbert) Scott; brother-in-law William Foster, all of Columbus; nephews and nieces Jordan and Jaelynne Gardner, Dewayne and Druscilia Foster, Delbert, Derrick and Darnell Scott; aunts Shelba McKenzie, Debrah Moore, Marilyn Mitchell, Dr. Vickie McCreary and Mary and Doris Wright; uncles Elmore Jr., Mark and Kevin Peoples, Donn and Darrell Calloway, Odell and Alfred Wright; special friends Sharon Sharp, Stephanie Ross and Charlene and Ed Jackson; and many other loving relatives and friends. ARCHDALE - Mrs. Sadie Hill Wood Gammons, 83, died Sunday at High Point Regional Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at State Line Primitive Baptist Church, Stokes County. Sechrest Funeral Service, High Point, is in charge of arrangements.

HARTNESS

HAMPTONVILLE - Mr. Steven Randy Hartness, 54, of Hunting Creek Church Road died Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Dillon, S.C., of injuries received in an automobile accident. Born in Alexander County Sept. 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Van and Ina Marlowe Hartness. He was a finishing maintenance technician at Hexzel-Schwebel in Statesville and was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. His first wife, Stacy Souther Hartness, to whom he was married 30 years, preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1998. Mr. Hartness is survived by his wife, Betty Baldwin Hartness, whom he married June 30, 2001; a son and a daughter-in-law, Michael Brian and Casandra Lowery Hartness of Hamptonville; a granddaughter, Makayla Hartness; five brothers, Gerald Hartness, Willard Hartness and Larry Hartness, all of Statesville, Rayburn Hartness of Wilkesboro and Alton Hartness of Union Grove; and two sisters, Reba Shaver of Hiddenite and Rachel Holland of Statesville. Funeral services for Mr. Hartness will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Sweet home Baptist Church, with the Rev. R.C. Redmond and the Rev. Eric Miller officiating. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Tim, Lynn and Bradley Souther, Joe Hartness, Tim Lowery and Rick Wilfong. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Mackie-Reavis Funeral Home, Yadkinville. At other times they will be at the residence on Hunting Creek Church Road. Mackie-Reavis Funeral Home, 2001 W. Main St., Yadkinville, is serving the family of Mr. Steve Hartness.
