Mrs. Rosalie P. Sutton
CLINTON -- Mrs. Rosalie Peterson Sutton, 90, of 1111 Cecil Odie Road died Sunday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Dorothy Rudd. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by a daughter, Peggy Yancey of Clinton; two brothers, Carey Peterson and Wilbur Peterson, both of Clinton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Myrtle I. Strickland
ROSEBORO -- Mrs. Myrtle Inez Strickland, 87, of 1700 Fleet Cooper Road died Monday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in White Oak Baptist Church by the Revs. Davis Benton and Roger White. Burial will be in Sunrise cemetery.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by three daughters, Betty Barefoot and Ellen Pearsall, both of Roseboro, and Rebecca Wood of Clinton; three sons, Joseph J. Strickland of Roseboro, and James M. Strickland and Robert L. Strickland, both of Salemburg; a brother, David Lee of Raleigh; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and at other times at the home of Betty Barefoot, 1680 Fleet Cooper Road, Roseboro.

Mrs. Patricia W. Hyatt
LAUREL HILL -- Mrs. Patricia Ann Whitfield Hyatt, 44, of 21700 Crawford Lake Road died Monday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
She was a retired school bus driver for the Scotland County school system.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. J.P. Loving. Burial will be in Sunset cemetery in Bennettsville, S.C.
Mrs. Hyatt is survived by her husband, David “Tommy” Hyatt of the home; a son, David C. Locklear of Rockingham; two daughters, Tracy L. Locklear of the home and Twyla T. Harrelson of Surfside, S.C.; a stepson, Bryant Hyatt of Indian Trail; her mother, Frances Simmons of Seneca, S.C.; a brother, Roy Whitfield of Toccoa, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Bullard of Laurel Hill and Linda Holbrook of Seneca; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Estelle T. Swaggerty
CARTHAGE -- Mrs. Estelle Thomas Swaggerty, 84, of 329 Bryant Road died Tuesday in her home.
She was a retired dark room technician for FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Center United Methodist Church by the Revs. Bill Mitchell and Greg Poplin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Swaggerty is survived by two daughters, Mary L. Slowey of Suffolk, Va., and Margaret Phillips of Carthage; a son, Thomas “Ed” Swaggerty of Gaston, S.C.; a sister, Peggy Coe of Sanford; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

CARTHAGE -- James Robert Fletcher, 64, of Carthage died Tuesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A graveside service was conducted in Mount Hope cemetery in Southern Pines. Arrangements were handled by Powell Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife, Grace H. Fletcher; two sons, Erik R. Fletcher of Carthage and Christopher Fletcher of Greensboro; and a daughter, Elizabeth Fletcher of Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Evelyn S. Moore
CHADBOURN -- Mrs. Evelyn S. Moore, 65, of Chadbourn died Monday in her home.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Whiteville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Lewis Funeral Home of Bladenboro.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Norman J. Moore of the home; a son, Kevin Moore of Glenolden, Pa.; and four daughters, Joy Moore of Media, Pa., Brenda Militello of Springfield, Pa., Cheryl Meyers of Westbrook Park, Pa., and Tina Hannigan of San Rafael, Calif.

ANGIER -- Mrs. Mary Margaret Matthews Gregory, 91, of Angier died Tuesday in her home.

Donald V. Coleman
MAXTON -- Donald Van Cott Coleman, 75, of 221 Lane St. died Monday in his home.
He was formerly employed by McGirt Electrical and Plumbing Co. and was a retired manager for Scotland Supply Company. Mr. Coleman was a member of First Baptist Church, the Edwards Bible Class and was a veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church by the Revs. Grady Edwards and Norvin Forrester. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Susie Coleman of the home; three daughters, Barbara L. Kinlaw of Hayes, Va., Betty K. Shelton of Maxton and Deborah L. Coleman of the home; two sons, Donald V. Coleman Jr. of Fayetteville and Stephen M. Coleman of Hazlehurst, Ga.; two sisters, Josephine Schuler of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and Betty Eslinger of Pennsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

RED SPRINGS -- Thurman Locklear, 70, of Red Springs died Saturday in Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a retired painter and an Air Force veteran.

She was a music professor at UNC-Pembroke for many years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Episcopal Church in Lumberton by the Rev. Gary Noteboom. Burial will be at a later date in Falconer, N.Y. Arrangements are being handled by Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Kenneth P. Johnson of the home.

He was founder and chairman of the board of Lee Paving Company, and was a former alderman and mayor for the city of Sanford.
