Thurman C. Godwin Sr.

DUNN -- Thurman C. Godwin Sr., 79, of Route 4 died Tuesday in Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital.

He was a retired salesman for Wellons Candy Company and a member of Godwin Presbyterian Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Godwin Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Ray Lammers and Dwight Barker. Burial will be in Old Bluff Presbyterian Church cemetery in Wade.

Mr. Godwin is survived by his wife, Mildred J. Godwin of the home; two sons, T.C. Godwin Jr. and Steve Godwin, both of Dunn; five sisters, Isabelle Fish, Mazelle Strickland and Helen Carroll, all of Coats, Jean Walker of Sanford and Ann Huff of Willow Spring; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Marie O. Wishart

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Marie Odum Wishart, 80, of Woodhaven Nursing Center died Monday.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Biggs Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. William P. Tuck and Joe K. Bounds. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith cemetery.

Mrs. Wishart is survived by her husband, Wallace Wishart of Lumberton; a son, Jeffery S. Wishart of Lumberton; and a sister, Lillian McGrath of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends at the home of Lillian McGrath, 212 E. 17th St., Lumberton.

LUMBERTON -- Donnell McMillan, 51, of Lumberton, formerly of Red Springs, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in L.E. Floyd Funeral Home chapel by Bishop Wilson Terry. Burial will be in Community Rest cemetery.

Mr. McMillan is survived by his wife, Peggy McMillan; three daughters, Rosa M. McMillan, Virginia L. McMillan and Cassandra Buie, all of Red Springs; two sons, Nicholas S. McMillan and Duaun W. McMillan, both of Red Springs; a sister, Mary J. McMillan of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arthur H. Bullard Jr.

IRMO, S.C. -- Arthur Herbert Bullard Jr., 72, of Irmo, formerly of Whiteville, N.C., died Sunday.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Western Prong Baptist Church cemetery in Whiteville by the Rev. Willie McLawhorn. Arrangements are being handled by McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville.

Mr. Bullard is survived by his wife, Thelma J. Bullard of the home; three sons, Herbert N. Bullard of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Arthur C. Bullard of Rock Hill, and Robert M. Bullard of Charleston; his mother, Esther P. Bullard of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Sarah Cochrane of Wilmington, N.C., and Lenora Hardy of Florence; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home chapel in Clinton by the Revs. Henry Baker and Arthur Horne. Burial will be in Hardy Autry cemetery.

Mr. Page is survived by a son, Bobby Page of Fayetteville; a sister, Myrtle Jackson of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Annie Mae Harrington, 85, of 879 W. Orange St., Fayetteville, died Sunday in her home.

Mrs. Harrington is survived by two sons, Marshall Harrington of Fayetteville and Spencer Harrington of Portsmouth, Va.; four daughters, Esther H. Lewis of Seaside, Calif., and Millie H. Barrett, Leola Harrington and Barbara H. Thompson, all of Fayetteville; a sister, Leola Morrison of Portsmouth; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.

CLINTON -- Ms. Erline Johnson Larkins, 85, of 206 Finch St. died Tuesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

She was a retired schoolteacher.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Homer Morris. Burial will be in Clinton City cemetery.

Ms. Larkins is survived by a sister, Mirtis B. Alderman of Clinton; and a brother, Ralph Johnson of Roseboro.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 6 p.m. at the home, and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Myrtle Graham Morehead, 90, of 611 Carl Drive died Wednesday in Willow Haven Nursing Home.

She was a member of Laurel Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church and a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Laurel Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Revs. Mike Porter and J.W. Williams. Burial will be in Tatum cemetery.

Mrs. Morehead is survived by a brother, Robert Williams of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McDougald Funeral Home in Laurel Hill.

SOUTHERN PINES -- William Carl Allred, 75, of 102 Warrior Woods Road died Tuesday in his home.

Mr. Allred was retired from the Federal Crop Insurance division of the U.S. Dept. of Agricultural and was a retired farmer. He was a member and former deacon of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, and the past president of the North Carolina Peach Growers Association.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe by the Rev. Edsel Huffstetler. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Allred is survived by two sons, Richard Allred of Jackson Springs and Tommy Allred of Ellerbe; a daughter, Lynda A. Kern of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, James “Bill” Allred of Ellerbe; two sisters, Jo Hopper of Mahwah, N.J., and Margaret Hunsucker of Spartanburg, S.C.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Briggs Funeral Home in Candor and at other times at the home.

He was a Vietnam veteran.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the 82nd Divison Memorial Chapel on Fort Bragg by Father Edward Kita. Burial with full military honors will be in the Main Post cemetery on Fort Bragg.

Mr. Spring is survived by his wife, Jennie L. Spring of the home; a daughter, Dawn E. Tootle of Alexandria, Va.; a son, William D. “Billy” Spring of Fayetteville; a brother, Duane Spring of Columbus, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

WETUMPKA, Ala. -- Mrs. Betty D. Smith, 67, of Wetumpka died Tuesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Alabama Heritage Funeral Home chapel in Montgomery by the Rev. Greg Pouncey. Burial will be in Alabama Heritage cemetery.

Among Mrs. Smith’s survivors are two brothers, Don Alley and Sammy Alley, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; and two sisters, Evelyn Fann and Frances Brown, both of Fayetteville.
