Ms. Ferdose D. Keith

ABERDEEN -- Ms. Ferdose D. Keith, 70, of Aberdeen died Wednesday in her home.

She was formerly employed by Moore County schools and was an Air Force veteran.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today in Boles Funeral Home and Crematory chapel.

Ms. Keith is survived by two sons, Frank A. Keith of Aberdeen and Robert S. Keith of Sanford; three daughters, Noreen Lyston of Long Beach, Kim Coats of Clayton and Nancy F. Keith of Aberdeen; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, P.O. Box 1956, Pinehurst, N.C. 28370.

Mrs. Rosemarie Jacobson

Mrs. Rosemarie Schwedt Jacobson, 67, of 3352 Jura Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in JFK Chapel on Fort Bragg by Father Jack Kelly. Burial will be in Main Post cemetery.

Mrs. Jacobson is survived by her husband, Retired Col. Sheldon Jacobson of Fayetteville; a son, Dr. Mark D. Jacobson of Leesburg, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Animal Haven, 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, N.C. 28303.

Archie D. Dimery

PEMBROKE -- Archie Dixon Dimery, 76, of 308 Anna St. died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Mr. Dimery was a member of Deep Branch Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. He retired from the civil service after 33 years and was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2843 and the Pembroke Civil Defense.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Deep Branch Baptist Church by the Revs. James A. Hunt and Keith Long. Burial will be in Oxendine cemetery.

Mr. Dimery is survived by his wife, Naomi K. Dimery of the home; two sons, Donald D. Dimery of Columbia, S.C., and Archie D. Dimery of Suffolk, Va.; four daughters, Patricia Barton and Judy D. Paul, both of Pembroke, Barbara D. Lowry of Charleston, S.C., and Janie M. Dimery of the home; three brothers, Luther Dimery and Ernest Demery, both of Pembroke, and Aubry Dimery of Rex; three sisters, Mary D. Locklear of Lumberton, and Dorothy D. Oxendine and Fay Dimery, both of Fayetteville; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

James W. Wiles

LAUREL HILL -- James Wesley Wiles, 91, of Laurel Hill died Friday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the city of Raleigh.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Presbyterian Church in the Pines by the Rev. Sandy Williams. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.

Mr. Wiles is survived by a daughter, Louise Bingham of Laurel Hill; three stepsons, Frank Floyd of Cary, Duncan Floyd of Raleigh and Richard Floyd of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Phillip Wiles and Tom Wiles, both of Cameron, S.C.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at 19941 Ida Mill Road, Laurel Hill.

RED SPRINGS -- Mrs. Patricia Lynn Locklear, 40, of Red Springs died Thursday in Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.

Ms. Margaret G. O’Brien

SOUTHERN PINES -- Ms. Margaret Gelder O’Brien, 89, of Southern Pines died Thursday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Community Congregational Church by the Rev. Kurt Traugott. Burial will be in Lake View in Penn Yan, N.Y. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home and Crematory.

Gregory S. Thornhill

Army Sgt. Gregory Scott Thornhill, 24, of 926 Odom Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

He was assigned to the Delta Company 2nd Battalion 325 A.I.R.

The funeral with full military honors will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Division Chapel on Fort Bragg by Capt. Chaplain Randy Moore.

Mr. Thornhill is survived by his wife, Jill R. Thornhill of the home; two daughters, Jasmine C. Thornhill and Madison R. Thornhill, both of the home; his parents, Doug Thornhill of Lumberton and Lois M. Thornhill of Raleigh; a brother, Douglas M. Thornhill of Banner Elk; and two sisters, Tracey Thornhill of Minneapolis and Meredith Thornhill of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sgt. Gregory S. Thornhill Memorial Fund for his Children, BB&T Bank, care of Jill R. Thornhill.

NEW YORK -- Anthony McGill, 59, of New York, formerly of Laurinburg, N.C., died Jan. 17.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Laurinburg by Elder Thomas Dockery. Burial will be in Patterson Memorial cemetery in Laurel Hill, N.C.

Mr. McGill is survived by his mother, Helen I. McGill of New York; his stepfather, Fred McGill of Laurinburg; and a sister, Sandra McGill of New York.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Willie Frank Wright, 56, of Washington, formerly of Laurinburg, N.C., died Jan. 17 in Washington.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Jackson Funeral Home chapel in Laurinburg by the Rev. David Thornton. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery in Laurinburg.

Mr. Wright is survived by two daughters, Michelle Wright and Wanda Wright, both of Washington; three sisters, Julia Rothwell and Louise Armstrong, both of Laurinburg, and Annette Jones of Bronx, N.Y.; a brother, Curtis Wright of Laurinburg; and one granddaughter.

The public will be received today from noon to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss Carolyn Jackson

RAEFORD -- Miss Carolyn M. Jackson, 42, of Branch Wood Lane died Friday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Raeford Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness. Burial will be in Center Grove Church cemetery.

Miss Jackson is survived by her mother, Doris Jackson of Raeford; her father and stepmother, Broadway Sr. and Shirley Jackson of Landover, Md.; a brother, Broadway Jackson Jr. of Cheverly, Md.; five sisters, Patricia Smith of Cheverly, Marion Steward of Washington, D.C., Sharon Grimes and Annette Jackson, both of Raeford, and April Jackson of Landover.

The public will be received today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Quick is survived by two daughters, Angela Morrison of Darneston, Md., and Neutrice Towens of Greensboro; a son, James E. Quick Sr. of Glenarden, Md.; a sister, Edna Van Goodman of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Dr. William R. Howze of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Irene Jackson Leach, 70, of 2540 Ballance Farm Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mrs. Leach is survived by her husband, William C. Leach of the home; two sons, William C. Leach Jr. of St. Pauls and Bobby Jackson of Sanford; eight daughters, Patricia Ray, Jean Duttlinger and Bernice Baker, all of Fayetteville, Beverly Williamson of Lumberton, Faye Kuhn and Cora Leach, both of St. Pauls, Kathy Brewington of Dunn and Diane Hill of Anderson, S.C.; a sister, Effie Nunnery of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Huffman is survived by his wife, Wendy S. Huffman of Lumberton; a son, Jared M. Huffman of Lumberton; his mother, Barbara Bowden of Newton Grove; his father, Ronald M. Huffman Sr. of Raeford; two brothers, Ronald M. Huffman Jr. and Jason Huffman, both of Raeford; and his paternal grandmother, Bertha Huffman of Raeford.

Faircloth of Roseboro and Glenda M. Warner of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was a member and deacon of Holly Mount Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Haywood was a retired owner and operator of H&H Motor Company and a retired auto mechanic teacher for Montgomery Community College.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Holly Mount Baptist Church. Burial will be in Candor cemetery.

Mr. Haywood is survived by his wife, Annie P. Haywood of Troy; two daughters, Elizabeth Poe of Sophia and Carolyn Tucker of Hickory; a sister, Sudie Blake of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and at other times at the home of Annie P. Haywood, 105C Wesleyan Home II, Troy.
