SOUTHERN PINES -- Mrs. Minnie A. Quick, 84, of Southern Pines died Monday in Pinehurst Nursing Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in First Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Joshua Haire. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Pugh Funeral Home.
Mrs. Quick is survived by four grandchildren, whom she helped raise, Mercedes Goecks of New York, Aubrey Moore Jr. of Oakland, Maine, Andre Moore of Bronx, N.Y., and Angelia Flanagan of Raleigh; and four great-grandchildren.

SANFORD -- Mrs. Susie Gaddy Waddell, 83, of 1217 Claude White Road died Thursday in Central Carolina Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in Wayside Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Betty Sherrod and Wendell McGee. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Waddell is survived by two daughters, Joyce W. Stonebrook of Omaha, Neb., and Donna W. Kennedy of Sanford; a sister, Estell G. Goodnight of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and at other times at 1343 Claude White Road.

Mrs. Norma J. Bledsoe
ST. PAULS -- Mrs. Norma Johnson Bledsoe, 80, formerly of the Tolarsville and Bladen Union communities, died Thursday in Adcox Rest Home in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Bledsoe had taught in the Bladen and Cumberland County schools.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bladen Union Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. David Canady. Arrangments are being handled by McNeill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bledsoe is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
