SHELBY — Mr. James David Allen “Bo” Beheler, 31, of 101 Dellinger Road, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Carolinas Medical Center.
He was born in Cleveland County and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Strange Beheler of Shelby; his father, James Helton Beheler of Grover; mother, Billie Waldrop Beheler of Shelby; daughters, Haley Beheler, Hannah Beheler and Heather Beheler, all of Shelby; a brother, Christopher Lee Beheler of Granite Falls; stepbrother, Tony Taylor of Granite Falls; and sisters, Renea Thomas and Amber Beheler, both of Shelby, and Mary Ruth Beheler of Kings Mountain.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home.

Beatrice Beam
Died Oct. 15, 2006
SHELBY — Mrs. Beatrice Blanton Beam, 86, of 1310 W. Cabaniss Road, Shelby, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Crawley Memorial Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, she retired from the Lattimore School cafeteria after 15 years and was a member of Double Springs Dorcas Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeb V. Blanton Sr. and Ollie Jarrett Blanton; husband, James Earl Beam; sisters, Ethel McMurry, Beuna Hamrick, Thelma Blanton and Louise Hamrick; and brothers, Carl Blanton, Glenn Blanton, Howard Blanton, Dan Blanton, Zeb V. Blanton Jr. and Charles Blanton.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Beam Harris and husband, Ron, of Johnson City, Tenn.; son, Alan Beam and wife, Cathy, of Shelby; grandson, Craig Beam and wife, Jennifer, of Shelby; and brother, Gene Blanton of Shelby.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Cleveland Funeral Services and other times at the home of Alan and Cathy Beam, 1302 W. Cabaniss Road, Shelby.
Funeral: Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church; the body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service

CONNELLY SPRINGS — Marie Harris Wright Berry, 65, of Connelly Church Street, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Valdese General Hospital after a period of declining health.
She was born Feb. 14, 1941, in Rutherford County to the late George W. Harris and Evia Bowen Harris. She was a retired self-employed seamer and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Berry of the home; her children, David W. Proctor of Connelly Springs, Brenda JoAnn Wisener of Randleman, George E. Wright and Timothy R. Wright, both of Connelly Springs, James E. Wright of Rutherford College, Cyndra M. Lippard of Bethlehem and a stepson, Alan Berry of Connelly Springs; a sister, Barbara Baugham of Shelby; a brother, James Harris of Ellenburg; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.

SHELBY — Mr. Thurman M. “Ball” Davis, 86, of Shelby, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born March 19, 1920, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Willie Baxter Davis and Lillian Bowen Davis. He was retired from Lily Mill and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He coached church softball for many years and was a member of Cleveland Lodge No. 202 A.F. & A.M. He served in the Navy in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, J.D. Davis, Jessie Davis and Willie Davis Jr.; six sisters, Nina Davis Beaver, Lona Davis Sisk, Lillie Pearl Davis, Marjorie Davis Humphries, Grace Davis Richards and Lizzie Davis Tritt.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Price Davis; two daughters, Marsha Davis Hollifield and husband, Dale, and Patti Lynn Davis; three grandchildren, Shannon Hollifield Potts and husband, James, Ashley Hardin White and husband, Cliff, and Jay Hollifield and wife, Amber; two great-grandchildren, Hailey Maye White and Lucas Dalton Potts; and good friend of the family, Trudy Gold, all of Shelby.

KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Sandi Hovis Martin, 43, of 2204 Brookfield Drive, Grover, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Born in Cleveland County, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Henry Patrick Hovis. A homemaker, she was a member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church in Kings Mountain. She participated in the first fundraiser for melanoma research and organized the Melanoma Support Group at the Blumenthal Cancer Center in Charlotte. She also took part in the first Taxoprexin Chemo Trial Study.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Billy R. Martin Sr., of the home; her mother, Judy Taylor Hovis of Kings Mountain; two sons, Billy Ray Martin Jr. of Crouse and Edward Bruce Martin of Dallas; a daughter, Tammy Wiles of Fort Mill, S.C.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger D. and Lisa Hovis of Gastonia, Scott and Pamela Hovis of Kings Mountain and Terry L. “Mucka” and Billie Hovis of Kings Mountain; best friends Janice Sachs, Jo Dyer and Laura and Joey Patterson; four nieces, two nephews, one great-nephew, six granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; and her companion and friend, her boxer Henry.
