PERSONAL HISTORY: Mrs. Garner was born in Spartanburg, S.C. to Boyd Rudisail and Lynette Spencer Rudisail of Gaffney. She was the wife of Donald E. Garner. She retired from Gaffney Senior High School as Assistant Cafeteria Manager. She was a former member of West End Baptist Church and current member of North Point Church.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Born Aug. 12, 1931, Mr. Daves was the son of the late J.P. “Red” Daves Sr. and Myrtle Newton Daves. He retired from Carolina Freight Carriers after 32 years as a driver. He was an Army veteran having served in Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post 100 and had delivered meals for Meals –on–Wheels in the Cherryville area for a number of years before his illness.

Greer, S.C. — Mr. William “Bill” Stowe Harrill Sr., 93, of 110 Vandiventer Drive, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. in the Social Hall of Memorial United Methodist Church and other times at the home of a daughter, Ruth Griffin, 105 Rubiwood Circle, Greer.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Mr. Harrill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. A lifelong resident of Greer, his life was marked by hard work and service to others from an early age. He graduated from Gardner -Webb University, where he lettered in football and baseball. He continued his education at Wake Forest University where he played baseball. During World War II, from 1943 until 1945, Mr. Harrill served in the Army Air Force, in the 568th Anti-Aircraft Battalion in the European Theatre. He owned and operated Harrill’s Incorporated from 1945 until he retired in 1982. Mr. Harrill was a lifetime member of the Greer Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He was a member of the Greer Housing Authority for 39 years. He was a dedicated member of the Memorial United Methodist Church for more than 60 years where he served in many leadership roles.
SURVIVORS: His wife of 65 years, Lalage Louisa Sperling Harrill; a son and daughter-in-law, William Stowe Harrill Jr. and Connie, of Greer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Harrill Greer and Steve, of Athens, Ga. and Ruth Harrill Griffin and Gary, of Greer; four grandsons, Stephen Allen Greer Jr. and wife Tricia, Jefferson Matthew Greer, Michael William Greer and William Jennings Stroud; four granddaughters, Laura Harrill Brasington and Wil, Frances Louisa Harrill, Anna Louisa Griffin and Emily Ruth Griffin; and a great-grandson, Stephen Allen “Sam” Greer III
