VISITATION: The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Blakely Funeral Home and other times at the home.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Mrs. Garner was born in Spartanburg, S.C. to Boyd Rudisail and Lynette Spencer Rudisail of Gaffney. She was the wife of Donald E. Garner. She retired from Gaffney Senior High School as Assistant Cafeteria Manager. She was a former member of West End Baptist Church and current member of North Point Church.

SURVIVORS: Her parents and her husband; a son, Matthew R. Garner of the home; a brother, Steven B. Rudisail of Atlanta; a sister, Janice R. Cherryville — Mr. James P. Daves, 74, of 1218 Baxter Road, died Thursday, June 1, 2004, at home.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday after the service in Mount Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Building
PERSONAL HISTORY: Born Aug. 12, 1931, Mr. Daves was the son of the late J.P. “Red” Daves Sr. and Myrtle Newton Daves. He retired from Carolina Freight Carriers after 32 years as a driver. He was an Army veteran having served in Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post 100 and had delivered meals for Meals –on–Wheels in the Cherryville area for a number of years before his illness.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His parents; brothers, Clyde Daves and Billy Daves; and a sister, Patsy Daves
SURVIVORS: His wife, Faye Harris Daves of the home; daughters, Kathy Panton and husband, Steve, of Bowie, Md. and Kim Cook and husband, John, of Cherryville; a son, Jim Daves of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Asher Panton and Ethan Panton of Bowie, Md.; Ben Lastra of Cherryville, J.P. and Jenny Daves of LaGrange, Ga., Kristen Watts and husband, Clint, of Fuqyay Varina; brothers, Franklin Daves and John Bennett Daves, both of Cherryville; and sisters, Betty Neill, Reba Beam, Linda Pow, all of Cherryville and Syble Bender of Virginia Beach, Va.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Mr. Ward was a native of Cleveland County. He was the son of the late Wilburn Wesley and Dottie Lue Byars Ward. He was a partner in McSmith Auction Service. He was also a truck driver for Hucks Piggy-Back Service and Countryside Landscaping.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His parents and a sister, Rita Gail Ward

William S. Harrill Sr.
Died June 2, 2006
Greer, S.C. — Mr. William “Bill” Stowe Harrill Sr., 93, of 110 Vandiventer Drive, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006.
FUNERAL: Sunday at 4 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church
Burial: Mountain View cemetery
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. in the Social Hall of Memorial United Methodist Church and other times at the home of a daughter, Ruth Griffin, 105 Rubiwood Circle, Greer.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Mr. Harrill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. A lifelong resident of Greer, his life was marked by hard work and service to others from an early age. He graduated from Gardner -Webb University, where he lettered in football and baseball. He continued his education at Wake Forest University where he played baseball. During World War II, from 1943 until 1945, Mr. Harrill served in the Army Air Force, in the 568th Anti-Aircraft Battalion in the European Theatre. He owned and operated Harrill’s Incorporated from 1945 until he retired in 1982. Mr. Harrill was a lifetime member of the Greer Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He was a member of the Greer Housing Authority for 39 years. He was a dedicated member of the Memorial United Methodist Church for more than 60 years where he served in many leadership roles.
SURVIVORS: His wife of 65 years, Lalage Louisa Sperling Harrill; a son and daughter-in-law, William Stowe Harrill Jr. and Connie, of Greer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Harrill Greer and Steve, of Athens, Ga. and Ruth Harrill Griffin and Gary, of Greer; four grandsons, Stephen Allen Greer Jr. and wife Tricia, Jefferson Matthew Greer, Michael William Greer and William Jennings Stroud; four granddaughters, Laura Harrill Brasington and Wil, Frances Louisa Harrill, Anna Louisa Griffin and Emily Ruth Griffin; and a great-grandson, Stephen Allen “Sam” Greer III
