SHELBY — Mrs. Frances Bell Wright, 72, was delivered from the cares and pains of this life on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Cleveland County, Mrs. Wright was born Oct. 25, 1933 to Minister LaLee Camp of Thomasville and the late Robert Camp. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and worked at Beam’s Nursing Home, Century Care, until her health declined and she retired.

SURVIVORS: Her mother, Minister LaLee Camp of Thomasville; three daughters, Lorene Jones of the home, Elizabeth Jones (Robert) of Shelby and Larlee Geter (Thurman) of Waco; five sisters, Lucille Sweezy and Dorothy Watkins, both of Waco, Eloise Brown (Jimmy) of High Point, Minister Betty Keitt (Lloyd) of Cramon, S.C. and Mary Lee Walker (Billy) of Thomasville; two brothers, Bobby Camp (Clara) of Kings Mountain and Henry Camp (Jennie) of Shelby; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Rutherford County, Mr. Hamrick was the son of the late Arbuth Lee Hamrick and Thelma Austin Hamrick. He worked 10 years as manager of Sun America Finance, Shelby; retired owner of Reece Hamrick Auto Sales and presently operated a concessions business at various events. He was also a retired member of Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department where he actively served as a member of the board of directors. He was a member of the Forest City Jaycees and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Sharon, S.C., he was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cherryville. He was formerly employed with Metals America. McCoy was a 1979 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and also served in the Navy. He was an easygoing person who enjoyed fishing and sports and was a person who tried to do anything that was asked of him.
Preceded in death by: his father, Arthur Junior McCoy; step-father, Edward Junior Odems; his paternal grandparents, Cleveland and Ruth McCoy; and his maternal grandparents, Willie and Clara Burkins
SURVIVORS: His wife of 12 years, Alice Hamilton McCoy; his mother, Willie Mae Burkins Odems of Kings Mountain; three sons, Menual Hamilton and Jerrell Hamilton both of Shelby and Derrick Watkins of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Anja McCoy of Shelby; five grandchildren, Ty, Angel, Al’ice, Kierra and Derrick Jr.; six aunts, five uncles; two great-aunts, one great-uncle; six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; two uncles who were like brothers, Ronnie Burkins of Columbia, S.C and Donnie Burkins of Winston-Salem; a first cousin who was like a sister, Ella Brown of York, S.C.; and a host of relatives and friends.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Rutherford County, the Rev. Ballard was a son of the late Henry and Nettie Martin Ballard. He was a member of Race Path Baptist Church. He pastored churches in Wilkes, McDowell, Cleveland and Rutherford Counties. He was a WWII Army veteran and served in Belgium, Germany, France, England, Holland and Normandy. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star and The Purple Heart.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Arley, Ala., Mrs. Elliott moved to Hialeah, Fla., where she worked and met her husband, Clayton Dewey Elliott. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother to their son, David. After his retirement from Florida Power and Light, they returned to his home in Lawndale, where they enjoyed gardening and the country. Clara could turn tears to laughter with her quick wit. Farewell to a beautiful mother, sister, aunt and friend. We love you.
