Mrs. Gertie Kinlaw Spoeneman, 63, of 6041 Cornish St., Fayetteville, died Saturday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
Mrs. Spoeneman worked as a cook at Rodriguez Child Development Center on Fort Bragg before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Bobby Tyson. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spoeneman is survived by a son, Richard Spoeneman Jr. of Fayetteville; a daughter, Cindy Little of Fayetteville; two sisters, Voncile Gentiluomo of Charleston, S.C., and Elvie Grant of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

ROSEBORO -- Miss Miah Kirkland, 3-month-old daughter of Taheera Hardin and Russell Kirkland, of 405 E. Jackson St., died Friday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

ERWIN -- Lonnie James “LJ” Dorman Jr., 75, of 406 E. J St. died Saturday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Price Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Jerome Pope. Burial will be in Erwin Memorial Park.
Mr. Dorman is survived by his wife, Ruth B. Dorman of Erwin; two daughters, Cara L. Johnson of Coats and Robyn Garrell of Harrisburg; a son, John Tew of North Topsail Beach; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Maggie C. Wallace (Dated Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998)
LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Maggie Currie Wallace, 85, of Century Care Nursing Home died Friday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wallace was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in McDougald Funeral Home & Crematorium chapel by the Rev. Legrande Taylor. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by two daughters, Catherine Johnson and Betty Haux, both of Laurinburg; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

BLADENBORO -- Mrs. Etha L. Cook, 80, of Bladenboro died Friday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Mrs. Cook is survived by a son, Billy R. Cook of Bladenboro; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Beatty is survived by his wife, Ida M. Beatty of Clinton; his mother, Naomi Beatty of Ingold; two sisters, Elma Garnette of Fort Washington, Md., and Betty Beatty of Ingold; and two brothers, Weldon Beatty of Ingold and Herman L. Butler of Salemburg.

ROWLAND -- Mrs. Dorothy Ann Lee, 54, of 412 N. Martin Luther King Drive died Thursday in her home.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, Milford Lee of Rowland; a son, Milford Lee Jr. of Rowland; a daughter, Cassandra Gurley of Warner Robinson Air Force Base, Ga.; three brothers, Robert Ford of Arlington, Va., Frank Ford of Raleigh and Edward Ford of Florence, S.C.; two sisters, Ester Scarborough of Washington, D.C., and Mary Ford of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and three grandchildren.

William E. “Toggie” Tart (Dated Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998)
DUNN -- William Ernest “Toggie” Tart, 71, of Route 7 died Saturday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mr. Tart was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Tart’s Plumbing and Heating before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Gospel Tabernacle by the Rev. King White. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Tart is survived by his wife, Dorothy P. Tart of Dunn; a son, Danny Tart of Dunn; four sisters, Alice Barefoot, Callie Lee, Irene Penny and Spicy Strickland, all of Dunn; and two grandsons.

Mrs. Bell is survived by four sons, Albert Faulk of Gastonia, Ray Faulk and Warren Faulk, both of Wilmington, and Roger Faulk of Seaside; five daughters, Sarah Spencer of Seaside, Sadie Thompson of Hertford, Sandra Farag of Riegelwood, Susie Ransom of Currie and Joyce Baggett of Ashe; two brothers, Elmer Williams of Raeford and David Williams of Bladenboro; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Baxley is survived by a son, Clayton Baxley of Orrum; four daughters, Lisa Adams of Parkton and Donna Lewis, Kim Baxley and Charlene Ivey, all of Lumberton; three brothers, Myles D. Baxley of St. Pauls, Emery H. Baxley of Elizabethtown and Lester E. Baxley of Glenville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

HILLIARD, Ohio -- Frederick Pierce “Fritz” Morrill, 76, of 5524 Village Passage, formerly of Cameron, N.C., died Tuesday in Ohio State University Hospital.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Cameron Cemetery in Cameron by Father James Butler. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home & Crematory of Southern Pines, N.C.
Mr. Morrill is survived by his wife, Lucille M. Morrill of Hilliard; a son, Frederick P. Morrill III of Muenster, Texas; a daughter, Fredericka Morrill of Cleveland; and two grandchildren.
Titus Evans Jr. (Dated Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998)
Titus Evans Jr., 82, of 827-B E. Orange St., Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. John D. Fuller Sr. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Evans is survived by five daughters, Ann J. Tillery of Baltimore, Diane Blue of Hope Mills and Nannie M. Williams, Clara N. Evans and Ina D. Harris, all of Fayetteville; three sons, Alonza Evans of Lithonia, Ga., Harrison P. Evans of Bronx, N.Y., and Wilbert Evans of Fayetteville; a sister, Nanie L. McKinnon of Fayetteville; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Gladys B. Watkins (Dated Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998)
Mrs. Gladys Beard Watkins, 73, of 1914 Belle Meade Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in her home.
Mrs. Watkins was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. T.J. Fulk and Lawrence Tew. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by four brothers, Donald G. Beard, Ronald F. Beard and Plato A. Beard, all of Fayetteville, and W.H. “Bill” Beard of Sophia; and two sisters, Jane B. Abis of Jacksonville, Fla., and Evelyn B. Arnold of High Point.
