RED SPRINGS -- Mrs. Luerenia Rogers, 82, of 523 W. Fourth Ave. died Tuesday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Johnson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Wilson Terry. Burial will be in Snowhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by three daughters, Veldon Neeley and Hilda Black, both of Red Springs, and Louella Johnson of Clarksville, Tenn.; four sons, Lorenzo Rogers Jr. of Wagram and Halbert Rogers, Herman Rogers and Ted Rogers, all of Red Springs; a brother, George McDougald of Red Springs; four sisters, Flora Harris, Sadie Fairley, Mannie Davis and Mary L. Davis, all of Red Springs; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 2 to 8 p.m. at L.E. Floyd Funeral Home.
Ms. Lillian Bratcher (Dated Friday, Oct. 16, 1998)
RAEFORD -- Ms. Lillian Bratcher, 42, of 403 Stevens St. died Sunday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Sherman Brooks. Burial will be in Highland Biblical Gardens.
Ms. Bratcher is survived by a son, Ricky Bratcher of Raeford; three daughters, Alisha Bratcher, Chequita Bratcher and Shamarion Bratcher, all of Raeford; her mother, Annie Bratcher of Raeford; her father, Alexander Little of Pennsylvania; a brother, Larry Bratcher of Raeford; a half brother, Alexander Little Jr. of Pennsylvania; six sisters, Brenda Clegg, Deborah Bratcher, Sarah Ross, Mashell Bratcher and Kathy Bratcher, all of Raeford, and Lindora Bratcher of Fayetteville; four half sisters, Tammy Little, Cynthia Davis and Daphre Anderson, all of Pennsylvania, and Mary Harris of New York; and four grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Doby Funeral Home.
Joseph S. Monsour (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)
Joseph Solomon Monsour, 97, of 118 Pinecrest Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Monsour was a co-owner of Ideal Lunch. He later opened Joe’s Food Center. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
A mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church by the Revs. Jack Morrison, Larry Jensen and Joseph Thomas. Burial will be in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 3.
Mr. Monsour is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held tonight at 8 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Joung H. Patten (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)
Mrs. Joung Hwang Patten, 61, of 5701 Yellow Stone Court, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Westminster Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Ben West. Burial will be in Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg.
Mrs. Patten is survived by two sons, James E. Patten Jr. of Roanoake, Va., and Richard E. Patten of New York; a daughter, Genevieve Patten of Raleigh; four sisters, Peggy Capps and Sue Stone, both of Fayetteville, and Hanna Hwang and Ichigo Hwang, both of Korea; four brothers, Sechitch Hwang, Yoshi Hwang, Kitty Hwang and Masa Hwang, all of Korea; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Guy T. Wilkinson (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)
Guy Thompson Wilkinson, 66, of 5707 Five Sisters Court, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in his home.
Mr. Wilkinson was an Army veteran. He was a banker and a member of Hay Street United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane by Chaplain Jernigan. Arrangements are being handled by Walkers Funeral Home of Mebane.
Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Wilkinson of the home; a daughter, Guyla B. Wilkinson of Fayetteville; and a brother, Melford Wilkinson of Lady Lake, Fla.
Mrs. Sachiko Perry (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)
SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Sachiko Perry, 67, of 1013 Karen Circle died Sunday in her home.
Mrs. Perry was a member of Soka Gakki International.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in 82nd Airborne Division Memorial Chapel on Fort Bragg by Oscie G. Chester. Burial will be at a later date in Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Perry is survived by two sons, Louis C. Perry Jr. of Denver and Rex Perry of Spring Lake; two daughters, Janet Candler of Fresno, Calif., and Rita Perry of Spring Lake; and two grandchildren.

HIGH FALLS -- Mrs. Evelyn Smith Upchurch, 81, of 120 Buttermilk Road died Wednesday in her home.
Mrs. Upchurch was a member of High Falls United Methodist Church. She was a therapist at St. Joseph of the Pines Hospital before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in High Falls United Methodist Church by the Revs. Bob Fletcher and Billy J. Brady and Chaplain Pam Hudson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Upchurch is survived by three daughters, Delores U. Brady of Raeford, Patricia U. Williams of Eagle Springs and Connie U. Sessoms of Wilson; five sons, Jerry Upchurch of Asheboro, Darrell Upchurch, Jackie Upchurch and Tommy Upchurch, all of High Falls, and Freddie Upchurch of Robbins; a sister, Mae S. McGough of Hampton, Va.; a brother, Lacy Smith of Fayetteville; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

CLINTON -- Mrs. Marscella Autry West, 79, of Mary Gran Nursing Home, formerly of Stedman, died Monday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Point Level Disciples of Christ Church by elder Felix McDonald. Burial will be in Little Field Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in Newton Grove.
Mrs. West is survived by two daughters, Clarice Brewington of Stedman and Clida F. Quarterman of San Antonio; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

ROCKINGHAM -- George LeGrand Watkins, 41, of 1071 North U.S. 1 died Monday in Hamlet Hospital in Hamlet.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Mount Zion United Church of Christ by the Rev. E.L. Weathers. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by McEachern Funeral Home.
Mr. Watkins is survived by a daughter, Jennifer R. Watkins of Rockingham; his mother, Fannie Y. Watkins of Rockingham; a sister, Deborah W. Enoch of Rincon, Ga.; and two brothers, Mosby B. Watkins of Chapel Hill and Marvin F. Watkins of Kings Mountain.

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Martha Adams Langston, 97, of Harnett Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Dunn, died Friday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in St. Stephens Disciples Church of Christ in Dunn by the Rev. Alex Cox. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn. Arrangements are being handled by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.
Mrs. Langston is survived by four sisters, Nellie Eason of Arlington, Va., Fonnie M. McNeill of Chicago, Mary McKoy of Lillington and Katherine Raines of Benson; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 49 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Scott Sr. (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)
LUMBERTON -- Robert Scott Sr., 71, of 511 Odum Road died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Scott was a retired construction worker.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in Thompson Baptist Church by the Revs. Eugene Scott and Sanford Chavis. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Biggs Funeral Home.
Mr. Scott is survived by three sons, Eugene Scott of Lumberton, John L. Scott of Charlotte and Jerry Scott of Kentucky; two daughters, Brenda Acquard of Lumberton and Helena S. Wilkins of Pembroke; six brothers, Woodrow Scott, Earl Scott, Barney Scott, Jack Scott, Leroy Scott and Billy Scott, all of Lumberton; two sisters, Bessie Sampson and Viola Cummings, both of Lumberton; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

BUNNLEVEL -- Murphy Henry Canady, 89, of Bunnlevel died Wednesday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville.

Richard L. Hemmer (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)
SANFORD -- Richard L. Hemmer, 78, of 3261 Yorkshire Circle died Sunday in Laurels of Chatham.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jonesboro United Methodist Church by the Rev. Terry Bryant. Arrangements are being handled by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Mr. Hemmer is survived by his wife, Rita K. Hemmer; two daughters, Judith A. Lorincz of Mehoopany, Pa., and Jeanne Quinn of Warrensburg, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Childress is survived by a son, Jeff Sadlick of Sanford; two daughters, Sherry Little of Chapel Hill and Kim Frazier of Sanford; two sisters, Linda Wicker of Texas and Marie Maddox of New Jersey; and two brothers, Ronnie Scarborough of Sanford and Kenny Scarborough of Florida.
