LUMBERTON -- Larry Clarence Rozier, 48, of 1837 Turnpike Road died Tuesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Floyd Memorial chapel by the Revs. Baxter Leigh and James W. Meacham. Burial will be in the Rozier family cemetery.

Mr. Rozier is survived by his parents, Jack and Edna Rozier of Lumberton; and two sisters, Mary Hardwick of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jackie Misyak of Stafford, Va.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 136-A Bow St., Fayetteville, N.C 28301.

Mrs. Fosteena P. Stone (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Fosteena Polston Stone, 80, of 806 Beech St. died Wednesday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in East Laurinburg Church of God by the Revs. R.P. Fields and Jeff McGirt. Entombment will be in Scotland Mausoleum.

Mrs. Stone is survived by two sons, Bill Stone and Larry Stone, both of Laurinburg; three daughters, Shirley Fields, Jean Outlaw and Jeanette Strickland, all of Laurinburg; a sister, Gladys Evers of Laurinburg; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Butler Funeral Service.

Mrs. Lessie M. Little (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

RAEFORD -- Mrs. Lessie McRae Little, 88, of 462 Lake Elizabeth Road died Monday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in East Freedom Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Larry Beatty. Burial will be in Silver Grove Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Little is survived by five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Miles, 995 Crawford Wright Road in Raeford.

Mrs. Edna McNeill (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

RAEFORD -- Mrs. Edna McNeill, 88, of 503 Fulton St. died Wednesday in Manor Care in Pinehurst.

Mrs. McNeill was a member of Raeford Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Raeford Cemetery by the Rev. John Ropp. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler Funeral Home.

Mrs. McNeill is survived by a son, Dr. John L. McNeill Jr. of Southern Pines; two daughters, Virginia M. Maddry of Norfolk, Va., and Margaret A. McNeill of Southern Pines; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home.

Robert F. Puthoff (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

SOUTHERN PINES -- Robert F. Puthoff, 66, of 265 Valhalla Road died Tuesday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Powell Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Puthoff is survived by his wife, Betty B. Puthoff of Southern Pines; two daughters, Drury P. Scarborough of Matthews and Erin P. Naylor of Monroe; a stepson, Taylor Barkley of Southern Pines; a stepdaughter, Blair B. Swecker of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Dr. Martilow Puthoff of Fairfield, Ohio; and six step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Stewart Fann (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

ROSEBORO -- Stewart Fann, 77, of 4491 Corinth Church Road died Wednesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Piney Green Baptist Chruch by the Rev. Dennis McDonald. Burial will be in Beulah Methodist Church cemetery.

Mr. Fann is survived by his wife, Mary Ann S. Fann of the home; two sons, Kenneth W. Fann of Roseboro and Richard R. Labor of Salemburg; three stepsons, Roger A. Labor of Salemburg, David Labor of Roseboro and Brian Hughes of Jacksonville; five stepdaughters, Sherry A. Fann of Salemburg, Patricia Eisenbach of Long Island, N.Y., and Tammy Cromer, Penny Moore and Denise Farmer, all of High Point; a sister, Brella Cannady of Clinton; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Thomas F. Parnell (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Thomas Franklin Parnell, 83, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Maxton, N.C., died Monday.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Catherine AME Zion Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Putanum Valley. Arrangements are being handled by McCliniham Funeral Home.

Mr. Parnell is survived by a daughter, Crystal Parnell of Mount Vernon; a sister, Leary Ziegler of Maxton; a brother, Jasper Parnell of Seasdale; and two grandchildren.

Kiel T. Melvin (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

HOPE MILLS -- Kiel Thomas Melvin, 15, of 3708 Floyd Drive died Tuesday.

Kiel attended Massey Hill Classical High School.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Floyd Temple No. 1 in Lumberton by elder J.W. Brooks. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Kiel is survived by his parents, Connie and Odell Melvin of the home; two brothers, Raynard Hester of Fort Hood, Texas, and Odell Melvin Jr. of New York; a sister, Sherika Melvin of New York; his paternal grandmother, Mavis Melvin of Lumberton; and his maternal grandmother, Rhoda Johnson of Austin, Texas.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Wiseman Mortuary in Fayetteville.

Gilbert T. Naquin Sr. (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

DUNN -- Gilbert Thomas Naquin Sr., 71, of 135 Bob Lee Lane died Tuesday in Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Naquin was an Army veteran.

A mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father Trent Watt. Burial with military honors will be in Devotional Gardens.

Mr. Naquin is survived by his wife, Beatrice L. Naquin of Dunn; three sons, Gilbert T. Naquin Jr. of Marera, La., Roy Naquin of Holma, La., and Mike Naquin of Dunn; a stepson, Dennis L. Hall of Smithfield; a daughter, Pamela Burnette of Rocky Mount; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 9 p.m.

Mrs. Ruby G. Styron (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

SANFORD -- Mrs. Ruby W. Mason Goff Styron, 76, of Sanford died Wednesday in Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Chapel by the Revs. Eric Porterfield and Tony Moore. Burial will be in Spring Hill United Methodist Church cemetery in Lillington.

Mrs. Styron is survived by three daughters, Faye M. Pilcher and Shirley Bradley, both of Sanford, and Brenda Dickens of Cameron; a son, Larry Mason of New Port; a sister, Lucille Taylor of Mount Olive; three brothers, Robert West of Lillington, Ernest West of Linden and Willard West of Sanford; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington.

The family will also receive friends Friday from noon to 2 at 321 N. Steele St. in Sanford and at other times at the home of Shirley Bradley, 3664 Barbecue Church Road in Sanford.

Ms. Christine J. Burke (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

PEMBROKE -- Ms. Christine Jacobs Burke, 77, of 504-B Chavis Park died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Ms. Burke was a member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Revs. Timothy Creel and Chris Rooks. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Burke is survived by two daughters, Rosa Revels and Mary A. Locklear, both of Pembroke; six sons, Billy D. Jacobs of Tabor City, Teddy Jacobs of St. Petersburg, Fla., Donald R. Locklear, Robert Burke and Kenneth Burke, all of Pembroke, and Chauncey Burke of Wilmington; 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Revels Funeral Home.

Finnen Clark (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

RED SPRINGS -- Finnen Clark, 54, of 452 Arthur Road died Tuesday in his home.

Ms. Sarah R. Shepherd (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

ROWLAND -- Ms. Sarah R. Shepherd, 81, of 4969 Union School Road died Wednesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Arrangements will be announced by Revels Funeral Home.

Andrew D. Currie Sr. (Dated Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998)

WINSTON-SALEM -- Andrew David Currie Sr., 92, of 141 Shady Court, formerly of Lumberton, died Monday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Pleasant View Baptist Church in St. Pauls. Burial will be in Kings Cemetery in St. Pauls.

Mr. Currie is survived by 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Maultsby & Sons Funeral Home in St. Pauls.

The family will receive friends at 335 Kings Road in St. Pauls.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Ladies Aid, St. Pauls, N.C.

Mrs. Eleanor G. Melvin (Dated Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998)

Mrs. Eleanor Grace Melvin, 68, of 106 Enoch St., Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bible Center Holiness Church by Bishop John D. Wesley. Burial will be in Locke Cemetery in Vander.

Mrs. Melvin is survived by a son, J. Walker of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Mary E. “Klicky Robinson” Cummingham of Fayetteville; a stepdaughter, Tina Gilcrest of Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.

The family will receive friends at the home.
