LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Vera Colville Arnold, 68, of Lillington died Sunday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Mark Morris. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by a daughter, Jenny Arnold of Lillington; two sons, Jessie F. Arnold Jr. and Harold Arnold, both of Lillington; two sisters, Agnes McDonald of Bunnlevel and Jerrie Faulkner of Kentucky; four brothers, Robert Colville and Floyd Colville, both of Lillington, J.D. Colville of Bunnlevel and Erwin Colville of Nevada; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dorothy Hutchinson (Dated Monday, Oct. 12, 1998)
ABERDEEN -- Mrs. Dorothy W. Hutchinson, 78, of Robinhood Circle died Sunday in her home.
Mrs. Hutchinson was a homemaker.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Pinelawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Donald Ballenger.
Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by a daughter, Patsy Richmond of Aberdeen; two brothers, J.B. Williams of Carthage and Paul D. Williams of Candor; two sisters, Betty Hicks of Candor and Barbara Ring of Vass; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

YORKTOWN, Va. -- Mrs. Frances Nance, 59, of Yorktown, formerly of Bladenboro, N.C., died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in New Center Baptist Church in Bladenboro by the Revs. Berry Helms and George Langley. Burial will be in Benevolence Cemetery in Bladenboro.
Mrs. Nance is survived by her husband, Vernon Nance of Yorktown; a daughter, Melody Rich of Bladenboro; two sons, Cecil Nance of Kernersville, N.C., and Duayne Nance of Yorktown; three sisters, Margaret Grimes of El Paso, Texas, Colene Cowan of Midland, Texas, and Carolyn Stasik of Bladenboro; a brother, Richard Smith of Gibsonville, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

SANFORD -- Mrs. Mary Cox Reece, 54, of 4155 Broadway Road died Saturday in her home.

Mrs. Reece is survived by a son, Matthew S. Reece of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Nicole Hedden of Broadway; her mother, Lessie L. Cox of Broadway; two brothers, Billy J. Cox of Sanford and Wilson Cox of Broadway; two sisters, Barbara Cox and Linda Crompton, both of Broadway; and a grandchild.

WINSTON-SALEM -- Mrs. Elizabeth Margaret Higgins Mayne, 88, of 1525 Woods Road, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday in Forsyth Medical Center.
Mrs. Mayne was a retired nurse.
A mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Leo’s Catholic Church by Father James K. Solari. Arrangements are being handled by Volger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mayne is survived by two daughters, Maureen Lawton of Schoharie, N.Y., and Elizabeth Hensley of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Ernest Hammonds Jr., 40, of Savannah, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital.

ROCKINGHAM -- Mrs. Tina Mae Tyler Brown, 57, of 156 Bateman St. died Saturday in her home.
Mrs. Brown retired from Fieldcrest Cannon in Laurel Hill.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Lester Brown of Rockingham; two sons, Terry D. Barnhill and Richard W. Barnhill, both of Rockingham; four daughters, Theresa F. Faulkner of Hiawassee, Ga., Debbie R. Pekuri of Appleton, Wis., Sharon E. Ziriax and Angela M. DeBerry, both of Rockingham; two sisters, Lois Hewitt of Thomasville and Wanda K. Richards of Middleburg, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Francis Fields Jr., 78, of Kings Dale Manor died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Barker’s Methodist Church by the Rev. Stan Gallagher-Smith. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary and Crematory.
Mr. Fields is survived by a stepson, Wayland Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; and three sisters, Nancy Rozier and Billie Borders, both of Lumberton, and Theo Bartlett of La Belle, Fla.

MARLINTON, W.Va. -- Miss Glory Shea Ryder, infant daughter of James G. and Sonia T. Ryder, of Marlinton died Saturday in Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Wade Cemetery in Minnehaha Springs. Arrangements are being handled by Vanreenen Funeral Home.
Among Glory’s survivors are her maternal grandparents, James and Barbara Tyler of Fayetteville; and her maternal great-grandfather, Jimmy Lovick of Fayetteville.

SHANNON -- Mrs. Ila Mae Lowery, 81, of 3528 Shannon Road died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Lowery was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by nine daughters, Marlene Watson, Ruth Nelson, Diane Torres, Mildred Nelson and Melba Lunsford, all of Fayetteville, Nebia Jones of Raeford, Ruthie M. McPherson of Red Springs, Dorethia Burdett of Hope Mills and Elizabeth Lowery of Lumberton; a sister, Josephine Hinson of Beckley, W.Va.; two brothers, Willard B. Lowery and Lonnie B. Lowery, both of Lumberton; 33 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Ralph Jones of Jackson Springs; three children, Carol Scroggins of Jackson Springs,David “Randy” Jones of Pinehurst and Douglas Jones; two sisters, Hilda Ingold of Asheboro and Betty Parks of Newport News, Va.; and four grandchildren.

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Leonard Oates Sr., 72, of 606 Delightful Court, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel by Chaplain Harold Cline. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Oates is survived by a son, Leonard Oates Jr. of Philadelphia; a sister, Louise Oates of Philadelphia; and a granddaughter.

Miss Heather Nicole Bingham, 11, of 1710 Rim Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Heather attended Lewis Chapel Middle School. She was a member of the school band.

Heather is survived by her mother, Juanita Hinkle of the home; her stepfather, Douglas Hinkle of Geneva, Fla.; a brother, Jesse P. Hinkle of the home; her maternal grandfather, Paul J. Counts Jr. of Lantana, Fla.; her paternal step-grandparents, Fred and Loretta Hinkle of Beverly, W.Va.; and her maternal great-grandparents, Paul J. and Lenora M. Counts Sr. of Chuluota, Fla.

Mrs. Buffkin is survived by her husband, Bobby R. Buffkin of the home; three sons, Randy D. Almond and Al Almond, both of Cerro Gordo, and Jamie Dew of Whiteville; a stepson, Scott Buffkin of Pittsboro; two stepdaughters, Donna B. Turbeville of Chadbourn and Lisa B. Nobles of Wilmington; a sister, Hattie B. Godwin of Cerro Gordo; and seven grandchildren.
