HOPE MILLS -- Jesse A. Hulon, 71, of 310 Brooklyn Circle died Friday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Hope Mills by the Rev. James Parks and Chaplain Michael Weaver. Burial will be in Big Rockfish Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Mr. Hulon is survived by his wife, Edna B. Hulon of the home; a son, Leon Hulon of Hope Mills; two daughters, Peggy Jackson of Hope Mills and Deborah Wilkes of Fayetteville; five brothers, Edward Hulon of Stonesboro, Pa., Frank Hulon of Salt Springs, Fla., Joe Hulon of Hope Mills, Lacy Hulon of Hickory and Grady Hulon of Charlotte; three sisters, Josephine Melvin and Dorothy Wingate, both of Hope Mills, and Ruth-Ann Long of Sumter, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Annie R. Collins (Dated Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998)
ROWLAND -- Mrs. Annie Ruth Collins, 76, of U.S. 74 West died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Island Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Larry Locklear and Charles Locklear and Brother Travis Collins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Collins is survived by two daughters, Linda R. Collins and Paula Sampson, both of Rowland; three sons, Selford Cummings of Rock Hill, S.C., and Kenneth Collins and Willie Collins, both of Rowland; three sisters, Clara Locklear and Francis Fields, both of Lumberton, and Emma J. Bullard of Pembroke; three brothers, the Rev. Coolidge Cummings and Archie Oxendine, both of Maxton, and Billy A. Oxendine of Blacksburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight beginning at 7 at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Pembroke.

Mrs. Ritter is survived by a daughter, Edith R. Hall of Sanford; two brothers, Grady Douglas of Sanford and Odell Douglas of Jamestown; two sisters, Etta Lopsay and Ruby Hall, both of Sanford; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

ATLANTA -- William Samuel “June” Douglas Jr., 69, of Atlanta, formerly of Laurinburg, N.C., died Wednesday in Veterans Affairs Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Galilee United Methodist Church in Laurinburg by the Rev. Doris Fox. Burial with military rites will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Laurinburg. Arrangements are being handled by Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Douglas is survived by a son, Willliam S. Douglas III of Atlanta; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Rice of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Alice McNair of Queens, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Robert R. Thames (Dated Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998)
CAMERON -- Robert Ray Thames, 22, of 155 Farley Road died Friday.
Mr. Thames was a construction worker with Champion Mobile Home Builders.

Mr. Thames is survived by his parents, J. B. and Nancy Thames of Cameron; two brothers, Jennings B. Thames III of Savannah, Ga., and Tony A. Billips of Charleston, S.C.; and two sisters, Rosemary A. Billips of Broadway and Kathy G. Billips of Cameron.

Mrs. Shipp is survived by three daughters, Louise S. Willis, Rose S. Strickland and Mildred S. Raynor, all of Clinton; a son, Willie M. Shipp of Clinton; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

LUMBERTON -- Clifton Ward Butler, 81, of 2314 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. died Thursday in his home.

Mr. Butler is survived by two daughters, Ester M. Allen of Paterson, N.J., and Lessie Freeman of Roseboro; two sisters, Minnie B. Culbreth of Capitol Heights, Md., and Tera Culbreth of Roseboro; a brother, the Rev. Murphy L. Butler of Roseboro; and several grandchildren.

CAMERON -- Mrs. Etta D. Hart, 79, of 4442 Hillmon Grove Road died Friday in Pinelake Health Center.
Mrs. Hart was a member of Cypress Presbyterian Church.
A private graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Cypress Presbyterian Church cemetery by the Rev. Richard Rodda. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hart is survived by two daughters, Reba H. McPherson and Sue H. Cameron, both of Cameron; four sisters, Georgia Rogers of Cameron, Mary K. Thomas of Sanford, Alice Smith of Concord and Annie L. Faulk of Pleasant Garden; five grandsons; and a great-grandson.

ROSEBORO -- The Rev. William Vander “Bill” Edwards, 75, of 5035 Old Mintz Highway died Saturday in his home.
Mr. Edwards was a farmer. He was also a veteran of World War II.
