Harold Clement Mazzan, 72, of 3433 Clemson Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Mazzan was the former owner of Four Flames.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in Good Shepherd Catholic Church by Father Gaul. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Mazzan is survived by his wife, Jean E. Mazzan of Fayetteville; two sons, John Mazzan of Las Vegas and Harold Mazzan of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Linda M. Harrigan and Samantha Mazzan, both of Fayetteville; a brother, Carl Mazzan of Medford, N.J.; a sister, Julia Cuccarese of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Jarrod L. Coleman (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

Jarrod Lemar Coleman of 4531 Spinel Drive, Fayetteville, died Thursday.

Arrangements will be announced by L.E. Floyd Funeral Home.

Frank Goldstein (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

Frank Goldstein, 88, of 4620 Keg Court, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.

Mrs. Delores S. Morgan (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

RALEIGH -- Mrs. Delores “Tootie” Hall Skurry Morgan, 68, of 5818 Poole Road, formerly of Fayetteville, died Friday in Wake Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Strickland Funeral Home chapel in Wendell. Burial will be in Montlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband, Willie Morgan; three daughters, Darla Smith and Terry Ellis, both of Raleigh, and Lisa Bradshaw of Garner; a son, Roger G. Skurry Sr. of Clayton; her mother, Mallie Hall of Fayetteville; three sisters, Shirley Grady of Fayetteville, Sylvia Buchanan of Bradenton, Fla., and Eleanor Ayers of Stedman; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nora M. Baldwin (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

ROCKINGHAM -- Mrs. Nora Mae Baldwin, 65, of 1609 Pine St. died Monday in Richmond Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in McEachern Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Carl Little. Burial will be in Rosedale Memorial Park.

Mrs. Baldwin is survived by a daughter, Earnestine Rouse of Rockingham; three brothers, Henry Johnson of Halifax, Va., Johnny Johnson of Syracuse, N.Y., and Fred Johnson of Rockingham; two sisters, Thislonia Jenkins and Sarah Johnson, both of Trenton; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 11:30 a.m to noon at the funeral home.

Roy B. Moore (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

CARTHAGE -- Roy Burton Moore of 408 McNeill St. died Saturday in St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Cross Hill Cemetery by Pastor Jim Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Moore of Carthage; a daughter, Deborah McMillan of Macclenny, Fla.; a son, the Rev. James A. Moore of Douglasville, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Lynn Gould of Gouverneur, N.Y.; a stepson, Kenny Boyte of Charlotte; a sister, Virginia “Dink” Davis of Greensboro; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Fry-Prickett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Billie Borders (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Billie Borders, 76, of 3070 Meadow Road died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Mrs. Sarah ‘Leila’ Corley (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

SANFORD -- Mrs. Sarah “Leila” Corley, 82, of 2525 Jefferson Davis Highway died Saturday in Convalescent Center of Lee County.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Bob Schwartz and Bob Yandle. Burial will be in Grace Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Corley is survived by her husband, Henry Corley of Sanford; a son, James “Bucky” Corley of Sanford; two daughters, Martha Mashburn of Sanford and Jeanette Sellars of Cameron; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sadie Cherry (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

CLINTON -- Mrs. Sadie Cherry, 80, of 107 W. Lee St. died Wednesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Union Grove Disciples Church of Christ by elder Ivan Green. Burial will be in Sandhills Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cherry is survived by a daughter, Carolyn C. Peoples of Riverdale, Md.; a son, Wesley Cherry of Clinton; two sisters, Ella D. Harris and Nellie D. Bennett, both of Elizabeth, N.J.; a brother, Isah McLamb of Knightdale; three grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church and at other times at the home.

Charles Boykin Sr. (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

CLINTON -- Charles Boykin Sr., 73, of 114 E. Carter St. died Friday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Butler & Son Funeral Home of Roseboro.

Neil H. Massey Sr. (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

DUNN -- Neil Henry Massey Sr., 89, of 105 N. Jackson St. died Tuesday in Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Dunn Chapel Free Will Baptist Church by elder Alexander Lockamy. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Massey is survived by a son, Neil H. Massey Jr. of Dunn; a daughter, Rosa L. Salter of New Haven, Conn.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at Dafford Funeral Home chapel.

John H. Flokstra (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

WEST END -- Dr. John H. Flokstra, 73, of 104 Calmwater Lane died Wednesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Dr. Flokstra was head of clinical research for UpJohn Pharmaceutical for 31 years.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. December 27 in Seven Lakes Chapel in the Pines by the Rev. Bill Korver. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home of Seven Lakes.

Dr. Flokstra is survived by his wife, Mary J. Flokstra of Seven Lakes; a son, Fredric J. Flokstra of Greensboro; two daughters, Claudia G. Bishop of Topeka, Kan., and Katharine Ksiazkiewicz of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and two sisters, Marion Oosterman of Grandville, Mich., and Anna M. Vermeer of Lyndon, Wash.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Christian Services, 901 Eastern Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Mich. 49503.

Parks L. Heaton (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

TANGERINE, Fla. -- Parks L. Heaton, 77, of 6823 Osage Drive, formerly of Garland, N.C., died Wednesday in his home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Garland Cemetery in Garland by the Rev. Brian Harrison.

Mr. Heaton is survived by his wife, Lena Mae R. Heaton of Tangerine.

The public will be received today from 1 to 5 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

William M. ‘Sam’ Alred (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

LUMBERTON -- William Melvin “Sam” Alred, 68, of 230 Parrot Drive died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in New Point Baptist Church by the Revs. Ronald Locklear, James M. Bell and David Hunt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Alred is survived by his wife, Sarah Alred of Lumberton; two sons, Gerald W. Alred and Lacy J. “Bill” Alred, both of Lumberton; three daughters, Shelia Carter and Carolyn Locklear, both of Lumberton, and Betty J. Ribando of Louisiana; a brother, Winton Alred of Hammonds, La.; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Franklin L. Marks (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

LAURINBURG -- Franklin Leroy Marks, 80, of 701 Frederick Ave. died Saturday in Century Care of Laurinburg.

Carl M. Smiling (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

TAMPA, Fla. -- Carl Melvin Smiling, 44, of Tampa, formerly of Sampson County, N.C., died Tuesday in University Carrolwood Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Holly Grove Church in Clinton, N.C., by the Revs. Randy Simmons, W.L. Ammons and Jerry Groves. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Smiling is survived by his wife, Lucille Smiling of Tampa; two sons, Barry Smiling and Ben Smiling, both of Clinton; two daughters, Gaynelle Smiling and Jamie Smiling, both of Clinton; his father and stepmother, Caldwell and Essie Smiling of Clinton; two sisters, Ellen Esparza and Juanita Jacobs, both of Clinton; a brother, William Smiling of Clinton; two stepsisters, Rachel Billiens and Doris Thompson, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; two stepbrothers, Donnie Cartrette of Atlanta and Danny Cartrette of Lexington, N.C.; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton.

Mrs. Annie Hollingsworth (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

DUBLIN -- Mrs. Annie B. Hollingsworth, 65, of Dublin died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Kinlaw Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. James B. Hardee. Burial will be in Fisher Cemetery in St. Pauls.

Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by a daughter, Susan Buck of Dublin; a stepdaughter, Virginia Tatum of Tar Heel; two brothers, Sam Collum of Horseshoe and Garland Collum of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Annie J. Lee (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

AUTRYVILLE -- Mrs. Annie Jane Lee, 88, of 344 Bullard Pit Circle died Friday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Clement Baptist Church by the Rev. James E. Dees. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, Ollen P. Lee of the home; a daughter, Catherine Bryant of Godwin; three sons, Jarvis Hall of Winston-Salem, Gene R. Hall of Autryville and Oris Hall of Kernersville; two sisters, Willoweze Brown of Greensboro and Rita Morgan of Lumberton; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jessie J. Royals (Dated Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998)

CHADBOURN -- Jessie James Royals, 74, of 107 E. Holland St. died Friday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Wards Station Church of God by the Rev. Charles Dudley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Royals is survived by his wife, Eva N. Royals of the home; a son, James W. Royals of Fair Bluff; a daughter, Penda Nealey of Aberdeen; and five grandchildren.
