LAURINBURG -- Ms. Lillian Ward, 69, of 603 E. Vance St. died Sunday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Ward was the owner and operator of Lillian Beauty Shop.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Quinton Covington. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.
Ms. Ward is survived by her mother, Mary J. Ward of Laurinburg; three brothers, James A. Ward and Dupree Ward, both of Laurinburg, and Lawrence E. Ward of Laurel Hill; and a sister, Dorothy Clark of Laurinburg.

RED SPRINGS -- Mrs. Henrietta McArthur Hill, 87, of 6C Highlander Apartments died Wednesday.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Morris Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. James Malloy. Burial will be in Mount Pelier Church cemetery.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a son, Charles McArthur of Lumberton; three sisters, Maggie B. Clark of Richmond, Va., Juanita B. Smith of Rowland and Mary T. Harris of Bowie, Md.; and five grandchildren.

ROSEBORO -- Miss Mary R. Owens, 47, of 804 N. Board St. died Monday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

Mrs. Elizabeth D. Todd (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998)
BUIES CREEK -- Mrs. Elizabeth Dove Todd, 90, of Buies Creek died Sunday in Harnett Manor Nursing Home in Lillington.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Fredericktown Presbyterian Church in Fredericktown, Ohio. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery in Berea, Ky. Arrangements are being handled by O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home of Lillington.
Mrs. Todd is survived by two daughters, Louise Taylor of Buies Creek and Brenda Larsen of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Dora Golden and Vergie Richardson, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Grace Fleenor of Bristol, Tenn.; two brothers, Howard Jessee of Tecumseh, Okla., and Ernest Jessee of Castelwood, Va.; and six grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Jeanette Richardson Bryan, 56, of 104 Vollie Drive died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Floyd Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Glinard Lawson. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery.
Mr. Bryan is survived by three sons, Michael Rowland of Asheboro, Ricky Rowland of Ocean Isle Beach and Larry Rowland of Lumberton; a daughter, Susan Almeida of Ocean Isle Beach; her mother, Thetis Richardson of Lumberton; three sisters, Gerrel A. Lennon of Holden Beach, Geneva Anderson of Naples, Fla., and Mabel Hardin of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Emory “Boots” Hammonds Jr., 79, of 2318 Moore’s Lane died Friday in Pemberton Place Nursing Center.

Mr. Hammonds is survived by four sons, Roscoe Hammonds, Martin L. Hammonds and James Smith, all of Maryland, and Kenneth H. Locklear of Lumberton; five daughters, Doris Locklear, Flora H. Kelsey, Sylvia Scales, Cynthia Chavis and Toni Spears, all of Lumberton; and 28 grandchildren.

ST. PAULS -- Mrs. Lester L. Locklear, 81, of 13059 U.S. 301 North died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Floyd Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Cregg Jones. Burial will be in Galilee Baptist Church cemetery in Red Springs.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by six sons, David Locklear, Angus Locklear, Johnny Locklear and Alton Locklear, all of St. Pauls, Donald Locklear of Shannon and Andy Chavis of Georgia; five daughters, Lyre Lowery and Ellen J. Jones, both of Shannon, Christine F. Locklear of Lumberton, Christy M. Chavis of Pembroke and Jackqueline R. Locklear of South Carolina; four brothers, Russell Locklear of Red Springs, Willie Locklear of Four Oaks, Ernest Locklear of St. Pauls and Wilbert Locklear of Garner; two sisters, Lena Wade and Ethel L. Locklear, both of Red Springs; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

MAXTON -- Mrs. Arminda Lowry, 67, of Route 3, Box 159A, died Sunday in Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bear Swamp Baptist Church by the Revs. Manford Locklear and Timmy Chavis. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lowry is survived by a daughter, Christina McMillan of Maxton; four sons, Brian Lowry of Red Springs and Christopher Lowry, Victor Lowry, and Chrisopher B. Lowry, all of Maxton; four brothers, the Rev. Manford Locklear, Sanford Locklear, Winiford Locklear and Alex Locklear, all of Pembroke; two sisters, Mary Carter and Bonnise Bryant, both of Pembroke; and eight grandchildren.

RED SPRINGS -- Mrs. Annie Lee Clark, 85, of 105 Highland Road died Thursday in her home.

Mrs. Clark is survived by a son, Robert Warmack of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Dawn Warmack of West Palm Beach; a sister, Ollie M. Johnson of Red Springs; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

CLINTON -- Keith A. Jones, 36, of Clinton died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Jones was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Keener.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Keener by the Rev. Perry Ashford. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Raquel K. Jones; four daughters, Ebonee Faison, Torva King, Keitura Jones and Rochelle Jones; his mother, Carrie B. Scott; two sisters, Vanessa J. Brown and Mary Butler; and his grandmother, Fannie M. Bell.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Zion AME Zion Church in Elizabethtown by the Revs. Florence Brown and G.F. Pone. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church cemetery.
Ms. McDowell is survived by a daughter, Audrey Wooten of Brockton; a sister, Pearl L. Balthrope of New York; and two grandsons.

HIGH POINT -- Mrs. Carrie Williams, 91, of 1814 Johnson St., formerly of Gibson, died Friday in her home.

Brandon Ortiz, infant son of Enith M. McNair and Saymen Ortiz, of 793 Rembrandt Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
In addition to his parents, Brandon is survived by a brother, Shaquille McNair of Fayetteville; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy McNair of St. Pauls; his paternal grandparents, Samual and Irma Ortiz of Puerto Rico; and his maternal great-grandparents, Estelle McKenzie and Lillian James, both of Fayetteville.

SPRING LAKE -- Ms. Dorothy Elizabeth Davis, 68, of 105 New St. died Saturday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Ms. Davis owned and operated Wee Drive-In for 30 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Adcock Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Eugene Ussery. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Davis is survived by four sons, Clyde Norstrand of Falston, Md., Willard E. Davis Jr. of Fayetteville, Robert E. Davis of Goldsboro and Michael A. Davis of Cameron; four daughters, Shirley Doninie of Hope Mills, Kathy Flowers of Olivia, Doris Williams of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Linda Davis of Natrona Heights, Pa.; two brothers, Joe Martin and Russell Martin, both of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Shirley Vaughn of Richmond and Jamie Seiber of Godley, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
