SANFORD -- Ms. Hattie C. Laws, 96, of 8185 Broadway Road died Sunday in Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Swanns Station Baptist Church by the Revs. Russell Blackmon and Bob Brown. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens.

Ms. Laws is survived by a son, C. Malcolm Laws of Lemon Springs; and three daughters, Lillie L. Layton and Pat L. O’Quinn, both of Sanford, and Pauline L. Stevens of Durham.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Swanns Station Baptist Church, 4165 U.S. 87 South, Sanford, N.C. 27330.

Neil V. Davis Jr. (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

Neil Vernon Davis Jr., 21, of 420 Brightwood Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Raleigh.

Arrangements will be announced by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martha B. Lee (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Mrs. Martha Brigman Lee, 89, of Flowery Branch, formerly of Laurinburg, N.C., died Saturday.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hillside Cemetery in Laurinburg by the Rev. J.B. Loving.

Mrs. Lee is survived by a daughter, Betty T. Earon of Flowery Branch; four sisters, Beulah Middleton of Chesterfield, S.C., Flora Wade of Charlotte, N.C., Frances Bogart of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Katie Watts of Hampton, Va.; a brother, Monroe Brigman of Charlotte; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.

Memorials may be made to Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church, Highway 79, Laurel Hill, N.C. 28351.

Marvin Ockletree (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

LILLINGTON -- Marvin Ockletree, 71, of Route 6, Box 453, died Friday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lillington Star Reformed Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Rogers and Pastor Gary Jouett. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn.

Mr. Ockletree is survived by his wife, Thelma M. Ockletree of the home; 10 daughters, Jewell Ockletree, Vickie Ockletree, Ici Stewart, Karen Herring and Myrtle Ray, all of Lillington, Deloris Perry of Georgia, Gloria Cole, Patricia Ballard and Deborah Ockletree, all of Maryland, and Jennie Terry of Virginia; five sons, Jeffrey Ockletree of Fuquay-Varina, Ronnie Ockletree of Bunnlevel, Levon Ockletree of Durham, James Ockletree of Indiana and Calvin Ockletree of California; two brothers, Melvin Ockletree of Raleigh and James O. Matthews of Lillington; 28 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The public will be received Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Dafford Funeral Home in Dunn.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Keith A. Jones (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

CLINTON -- Keith Antonio Jones, 36, of 374 Grady Road died Saturday.

Ms. Ethel M. McIntyre (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

Ms. Ethel Maynor McIntyre, 87, of Fayetteville died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by LaFayette Funeral Home.

Miss Rhonda K. Chriscoe (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

ROBBINS -- Miss Rhonda Kay Chriscoe, 27, of 148 Morgan Road died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Miss Chriscoe worked for Cross Creek Sewing Plant.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bright Light Baptist Church by the Rev. Ralph Voncannon. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.

Miss Chriscoe is survived by her mother, Berta C. Gardner of Robbins; two sisters, Lynn Gardner of Eagle Springs and Donna Gardner of Candor; and a brother, Richard Chriscoe of Eagle Springs.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Yvonne Hammond (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

HOPE MILLS -- Mrs. Yvonne Hammond, 62, of 3269 Bluegrass Court died Thursday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

The funeral will be conducted at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Reeves Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Donnie Anderson.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by her husband, Roger Hammond; a son, Bill Hammond of Hope Mills; two daughters, Sheryl Johnson of Hampton, Ga., and Sharon Parker of Hope Mills; a brother, Jackie Shannon of Manteo; a sister, Pauline Gray of Arlington, Va.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harry J. Estes (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

SANFORD -- Harry James Estes, 80, of 700 Westover Drive died Sunday in Central Carolina Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Mrs. Janie M. Honeycutt (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

ROSEBORO -- Mrs. Janie M. Honeycutt, 75, of 5275 High House Road died Sunday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Mrs. Honeycutt retired from Sears.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Piney Green Baptist Church by the Revs. Dennis McDonald and Herbert Carter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by her husband, Jonah A. Honeycutt of Roseboro; two sons, Donald R. Honeycutt and Hal J. Honeycutt, both of Roseboro; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Lester Locklear (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

ST. PAULS -- Lester Locklear of 13059 U.S. 301 died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Arrangements will be announced by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Jason T. Morgan (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

DUNN -- Jason Tennyson Morgan, 18, of Dunn died Friday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in East Erwin Baptist Church in Erwin. Arrangements are being handled by Price Funeral Home of Erwin.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his parents, Steve and Teri Tennyson of Dunn; a stepsister, Leigh-Ann Tennyson of Pinelevel; his grandparents, Hayden and Victoria Green of Alton, Ill., and Vonnie Hogan of Coats; and his great-grandmother, Ruth S. Temple of Erwin.

The family will receive friends at the home of Ruth S. Temple, 200 N. 12th St., Erwin.

Earl B. Cummings (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

PEMBROKE -- Earl B. Cummings, 57, of 3876 N.C. 710 died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Anna Free Will Baptist Church by the Revs. Anthony Oxendine and Bobby D. Locklear. Burial will be in the Cummings family cemetery.

Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife, Norris Cummings of the home; a daughter, Melanie C. Baker of Hope Mills; three sons, Perry Cummings, Mason Cummings and Kenneth E. Cummings, all of Pembroke; five brothers, Willard Cummings, Wilton Cummings, Newton Cummings Jr. and Carlton Cummings, all of Pembroke, and Frank Cummings of Maxton; seven sisters, Mary A. Locklear, Wealthie Dial and Betty L. Maynor, all of Pembroke, Sarah A. McDaniel of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Willa M. Wells of Houston, Nina R. Cummings of LaPorte, Texas, and Ella M. Hammonds of Lumberton; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight beginning at 7 p.m. at Thompson’s Funeral Home.

Alonzo E. Raeford Sr. (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

HOPE MILLS -- Alonzo Edward Raeford Sr., 85, of Route 1, Box 241, died Saturday in Village Green Health Care Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Gray’s Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. L.R. Gibson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Raeford is survived by four sons, Alonzo E. Raeford Jr., John W. Raeford and Daniel Butler, all of Hope Mills, and Alfred L. Raeford of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Joan McKoy of Hope Mills; a brother, Joe Raeford of New Jersey; two sisters, Elma Freeman and Florine Bryant, both of Hope Mills; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.

De Marco R. Shaw (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

De Marco Romin Shaw, infant son of Letitia Shaw, of 5574 Windyknoll Place, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Shady McKeithan (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

LILLINGTON -- Shady McKeithan, 73, of Lillington died Thursday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cumberland Union Church by the Rev. James McGrady Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. McKeithan is survived by five sisters, Agnus Smith, Mary Williams, Janie Jones and Ida McGready, all of Fayetteville, and Carrie Campbell of Louisburg; and five brothers, Lester McKeithan, Joseph McKeithan, Albert McKeithan, William McKeithan and James McKeithan, all of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 7 p.m. at H.M. Colvin Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Leonard R. Farnung (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

Retired Air Force Maj. Leonard Robert Farnung of 409 Dunmore Road, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

McCoy Bass (Dated Monday, Nov. 23, 1998)

CLINTON -- McCoy Bass, 82, of 38 Hamilton Drive died Sunday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Bass was a retired farmer.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Royal-Hall Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Dock Hobbs. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.

Mr. Bass is survived by a daughter, Annette B. Aman of Clinton; four sisters, Martha B. Benson of Benson, Elier B. Smith of Castle Hayne, Mae B. Parker of Jacksonville and Nell B. Norris of Clinton; two brothers, Silas Bass and Roy Bass, both of Clinton; and a granddaughter.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Myrtle G. Blackburn (Dated Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998)

Mrs. Myrtle Eleanor Barfield Green Blackburn, 85, of 117 Tokay Drive, Fayetteville, died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cross Creek Cemetery by the Rev. Pearl Hall. Arrangements were handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Mrs. Blackburn is survived by two sons, James R. Blackburn of Columbia, Tenn., and Jackie R. Blackburn of Fayetteville; three daughters, Sandra B. Jestes, Connie B. Elliott and Jeannie B. Morris, all of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
