PEMBROKE -- Noah Arthurs, 19, of Hezekaih Road died Saturday in Marlboro Park Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Prospect United Methodist Church by the Revs. Bill J. Locklear, Harold Jacobs and Dwayne Lowry. Burial will be in Island Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Arthurs is survived by three brothers, Ian Z. Arthurs, Derrick S. Locklear and Zackery C. Arthurs, all of Maxton; and three sisters, Amanda D. Arthurs of Lumber Bridge, Cynthia D. Athurs of Maxton and April A. Arthurs of Pembroke.

Charlie Stewart (Dated Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998)
NEW YORK -- Charlie Stewart, 65, of New York, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Thursday in Harlem Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Jerry L. Johnson. Burial will be in Lock’s Creek Church cemetery is Vander, N.C.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Henrietta Stewart of the home; a daughter, Gwendolyn Graves of New York; a son, Charlie Stewart Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Dorothy Kimbrough of Fayetteville and Esther L. McKoy and Jean Swint, both of New Haven, Conn.; and four grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lewis E. Timmons (Dated Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998)
Lewis Edward Timmons, 59, of 6344 Ginger Circle, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel by the Rev. Franklin Rush. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Timmons is survived by his wife, Pearl I. Timmons of the home; two sons, Edward L. Timmons of Atlanta and Lewis W. Timmons of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kathlene I. “Kitten” Timmons and Melody M. Timmons-Miller, both of Atlanta; a stepson, Charles N. Mason of Petersburg, Va.; a stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Grider of Fayetteville;two brothers, John H. Timmons of Orlando, Fla., and Lee A. Timmons of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Rosa M. Timmons-Johnson of Kansas City, Mo.; and several grandchildren.

ABERDEEN -- Otis Austin Bryant, 82, of 1056 Foxfire Road died Sunday in Manor Care Health Services.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in McDonald’s Chapel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Ed Kingsbury. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Annie Bryant; a son, Austin Bryant of Ellerbe; two daughters, Lynda Carlton of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Pam Cameron of Wilmington; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Ila Page Jackson, 89, of 119 Pinecrest Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Len-Care Nursing Home.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

SANFORD -- Milton M. Combs, 83, of 3108 Chipping Wedge died Sunday in his home.
Mr. Combs was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Combs is survived by his wife, Thelma P. Claude Winford Scott Jr., 57, of 4401 Piedmont Ave., Fayetteville, died Sunday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Scott was a volunteer fire fighter for 18 years at Cumberland Road Volunteer Fire Department.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Sherrill Boykin. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Alma S. Scott of the home; a son, Claude W. Scott III of Fayetteville; two daughters, Laurie S. Wheeler of the home and Lisa S. Bill of Fayetteville; his mother, Ida Scott of Fayetteville; three brothers, Milton Scott of Elkhorn, Neb., Roger Scott of Fayetteville and Dave Scott of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a sister, Nancy Edwards of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.

LINDEN -- James Edward Covington, 74, of 4368 McBryde St. died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Dafford Funeral Home chapel in Dunn by elder Danny Robinson. Burial will be in Cumberland Union Free Will Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Covington is survived by his wife, Mary E. Covington of the home; four sons, Edward C. Covington, Earl J. Covington and Robert E. Covington, all of the home, and Leon Covington of Dunn; two daughters, Naomi Covington of the home and Nancy M. Johnson of Linden; two brothers, Early Graham of Fayetteville and Roscoe Graham of Dunn; and eight grandchildren.

PINEHURST -- Richard Charles Wesche, 68, of 200 Safford Drive died Saturday in his home.
Mr. Wesche was a member of Southern Pines United Methodist Church and Moore County Shriner’s Club Oasis Temple.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Pines United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mark Wethington. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Wesche is survived by his wife, Judy Wesche; two sons, Jeffrey Wesche of Wadsworth, Ill., and David Wesche of Auburn, N.H.; a daughter, Susan Todd of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Patricia Bernor of Devon, Conn.; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

Mrs. Glisson was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Antioch Presbyterian Church by the Revs. John Hinkle and Don Satterwhite. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Glisson is survived by her husband, W.B. “Bill” Glisson of Raeford; two sons, John Glisson and Larry Glisson, both of Raeford; a sister, Christine Bruton of Merritt, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ERWIN -- Earl Gibson Holland, 78, of 508 W. J. St. died Thursday in his home.
Mr. Holland was the owner of Earl’s Trading Post for more than 50 years. He was a member of Benson American Legion Post No. 109. He was a veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Price Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Don Holland. Burial will be in Erwin Memorial Park.

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Elsie Mason Holder, 75, of Lillington died Sunday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Mrs. Holder was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church.

SPRING LAKE -- Arthur Lawrence Griffin, 59, of 110 Haire St. died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mr. Griffin retired from the Air Force. He was a member of VFW No. 9103.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Hsui-Ying H. Griffin of Spring Lake; a brother, Bobby Griffin of Lemon Springs; and two sisters, Brenda Smith of Sanford and Aldena Jinar of Ellwood City, Pa.
